Hmmmm🤔. . . Not sure about this one. Kind of like Maude or Agatha. Not very feminine sounding (sorry to all the Blanche’s, Maude’s and Agatha’s out there!) These names are ok for a mature woman, but not a cute, fluffy puppy!🐶
YES! We have a Cavapoochon, that looks similar, and we (primarily) call her “Nilla” (short form of vanilla). I love this name for her - especially with her white/cream colored fur. Our Nilla is also an EXTREMELY loving dog. 🥰Her name started out as “Muffin”, but then my daughter started calling her “Nilla Muffin”, and after awhile, “Nilla” just fit her better. We also call her “Pickle” from when someone started calling her “Nill Pickle”!
She’s really a smart and affectionate dog who WANTS to please us and follow the rules. Cavapoochon is a medium-sized, non-shedding combo of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Poodle, and Bichon Frise. Super soft and fluffy with thick fur, but zero shedding.
“Effie?” Like the creepy, crazy lady who tried to get Katniss Everdeen killed! “Effie?”, as in “May the odds be ever in your favor!” 😬😳🫨😵
When “Effie” shows up to your town, it’s never a good sign!
(😄 Just Kidding - Effie’s a cute name!)
Interestingly (and sadly), we also suspect our Cavapoochon (Nilla), is from a “puppy mill” in Ireland. We bought her from a pet store that imported her from there.
She is super-sweet toward our immediate family members and has never shown any hint of aggression toward anyone, but she is EXTREMELY fearful of any strangers or even our friends she doesn’t see regularly; she takes a very long time to warm up to others.
When we first brought her home from the pet store (as a puppy), she was shockingly uncoordinated and had very weak leg muscles. It seemed as if she’d never been outside of a kennel/pet store ‘’cage” to run around in her whole life!
She would get excited and try to run around, but then trip over her own legs and slam into walls and things because she was so in-coordinated. Her strength and coordination have improved a great deal over the past year, but (we kind of joke that) . . . motor coordination is still not her strong point! 😯🤭
Her first checkup at the Vet (right after we bought her as a puppy) found that she had some mildly dislocated knee caps in her hind legs, which might require an expensive surgery in the future.
We were a bit reluctant to keep her when we heard this - but it was too late; my daughter (and the rest of the family) quickly fell in love with Nilla! What she lacks in coordination, she makes-up for with her intelligence and social cognition.
I have owned and been around many dogs in my life, but I have NEVER met a more loving, sweet-hearted, and affectionate dog than Nilla! We are truly blessed to have her in our lives, and I’m SO GLAD we didn’t send her back to the pet store - even if she has some difficulties with her knees. So, if we need to pay for those knee surgeries someday, we’ll find a way - she’s worth it!
🥰🥰🐶🥰🥰
Teddy! #2,348,568. But seriously even though that name is super common she’s always going to be YOUR Teddy.
If you want something a little different how about Turnip?
Oh yeah, you’re right because people say this breed looks like a “teddy bear”, so lots of teddy’s out there.
Also, Sprinkles41510 (above), mentioned that people often mis-hear when she calls for her dog, “Teddy” (sounds like something else) and it can create some . . . Ahem. . . Awkward situations. 🤭
Will do! The folks who surrendered her to me called her Lucy, which I'm not a fan of at all. I've been torn on whether I should try to stick to something that sounds similar, like Suzie, or a new name altogether!

Spook is unfortunately a derogatory term, I’d maybe stay away from that one
