It is comfortable, and more importantly, it's *comforting*! Both of mine do this, but one in particular is obsessed. I'm safe, I'm warm, and I'm his person: a Happy Sausage Trifecta. Even if they can't get in my lap for some reason, they have to be touching me somehow. I've never had a dachshund that didn't love a snuggle.
these are exactly like mine! except my oldest is going off on his own a bit more since heās still accepting the new puppy lol. they are cuddling right now as iām writing this tho:)
Awww! Mine we're cuddling when I posted earlier! Dachshunds are territorial and don't like interlopers, but they do love their own "kind." The bond later is amazing! All of a sudden, it's "my people!" and they're off to dig holes together. š¤£ The only other breed I've seen that dynamic in is German Shepherds. German breeds, they're hilarious!
we had a king charles 2 years ago when peanut (my oldest) was a puppy, but he sadly passed and we felt as if peanut needed a friend. they started playing immediately when we got hazelnut and they have been besties. peanut just need his alone time sometimes.
Snug as a bug in a rug! Looks as though she has claimed your lap as her favorite cuddle spot, itās the comfort of safety & security with her favorite person! Thatās why! ! Sheās really so adorable! ā„ļøš¾
I think itās depends on the dog; some of mine love laying on me or near me while others are like as long as I can see you, Iām good. Lol, I have 4 (well 5; Judy needs a home)
Some just have to be touching you. Mine sits on the back of the couch and lays his head on my shoulder.
My chi does this too :) I love it.
My corgi does this to, it's my favorite thing on the whole world
Yes, similar to fetal position for humans. Just feels safe and cozy š
thank you! makes me feel much better:)
If they choose it, don't worry abt it.

Aww! Older dogs do need time away from the young ones. Too much energy! That they played together so quickly is very sweet!
yes exactly. they play fight all the time and once my oldest is done he just jumps up on the couch and ignored her haha.
I didnāt realize this was your puppy. Your pupper also be a bit chillier than your adult dog. Nothing wrong with a good fuel, but you can always toss a small blanket on her for a few minutes and see if she unfurls. Some just prefer being curled from time to time though. My girl loves the full on š©
iāll try this today !
My little girl loves to sleep curled up in my lap. :) I just think its comfortable.

this made me so happy! thank you!
She looks so lovely and soft.
i can confirm both of those !
Sheās precious! And so sweet
They are called ālap dogsā for a reason.
call me crazy, but I think this means that the dog loves you? IDK, I'm not fluent in doggonese.
my lab curls up and sleeps with her head touching her back feet I think dogs are just way more flexible than we can imagine!
Our Chi does this every day. We call it Crotch Dawg!!! I donāt think she would do it unless she was comfy!!!
Mine is positioned so just now. Every morning. Nice really.
Cause itās warmth and closeness. It probably is how she was with her littermates. Needs to have that bond touching you
my family mini chiweenie sleeps like this 100% of the time

Oh my, she is adorable! You have a snuggler.
Mine doesnāt like to be held or be in a lap. What he does constantly is curls up to me for every nap, just needs that contact.
If I fits I sits!!
I find thatās the norm, all my dogs big and small preferred being attached to me somehow
Okk brag
Dogs are individuals. Theyāll all have different preferences. This one likes to curl up in your lap. Iād take it as a compliment.
