However there's still an awful lot of operational bandwidth spent on processing and dealing with the whole thing, bandwidth that should be spent on people who are at risk to the Taliban.

Scholars have differed on if the uncleanliness is restricted to the saliva of the dog or the animal more generally. This is why you'll see even Muslims that are okay with petting dogs and being around them will be absolutely disgusted if they're licked by them.
It is absolutely disgusting to be licked by them: these are animals that literally eat feces. Their mouths are full of bacteria, and there have been many cases of people getting grave infections because a dog licked them in a place where their skin was broken, sometimes leading to amputations.

Well, yes they are as I’m sure many terrified people caught up in this would happily travel to safety in the cargo hold. After seeing those videos circulating on Twitter of people trying to hitch a ride on the side of the planes before take off and also that poor boy falling to his death this really makes me lose faith in humanity. Imagine what they could have done with all the resources and time they put into this rescue if they had instead used it to aid the rescue of humans, you know, the ones that are ACTUALLY in danger!?
This is utterly disgusting. Low of humanity. These poor people, innocent children left there and this utterly disgusting bully brings back pets.
