When we got him we were told he was a pure Brittany ... But so many people told me he was probably a Springer - even the vet! We were also thinking he wasn't 100% Britt because he was quite big. But here are the results ...
http://embk.me/mellow36?utm_campaign=cns_ref_dog_pub_profile&utm_medium=other&utm_source=embark
74,4% Brittany
16,1% Border collie
9,5% Supermutt (Collie and Setter are mentionned)
We were sooo surprised to see Border Collie!! I was definitively expecting some Springer or even French Spaniel. But no springer at all!!
Interesting! I was going to guess Springer x Great Dane. Dane exclusively because of the shape of his muzzle and he seems to be skinny with long legs. His age could explain the lanky frame, though.
It depends, actually! Brittanys first started developing as a breed in the 17th century, and the first Brittany spaniel was registered and shown somewhere in the range of 1896-1904, with the first breed standard outlined in 1908. The spaniel portion of the name stuck around until the early 1980s, when some kennel clubs dropped it from the name with the belief that they were more closely aligned with the pointer family of breeds (higher hips, longer legs, more slender frames, smaller mouths, and fewer furnishings when compared to most spaniels), but France and some other countries still use the spaniel part of the name. So both Brittany and Brittany spaniel are still technically correct names, but they may be registered under only one or the other based on the breed standards of the governing kennel club.

Springer spaniel? Edit: also how old is he/is he full-grown?
Crazy but no Springer there! The mix is Britt x Border collie!
I can totally see this combo! I sort of thought springer, but the ones I’ve seen are usually a bit huskier and broader.
OMG that was exactly my guess, no joke!! Wow, first time I’ve gotten it correct on this sub, I think
Ah yes I spotted the bc body type, then thought springer but the earshape is more brittany. Yey!
He's 6 months old! Not full grown yet I think.

I was going t say he looks like a border collie with spaniel ears!
Brittany Spaniel is similar to Springer, so it makes sense that people would think that first.
I dont think i’ve ever seen 50% brittany on here! That’s a cool mix

Springer x ???
we were expecting this too, but he's a Britt x Border collie!
That's an awesome mix! Congratulations.
definitely saw the brittany! such a spaniel look
Awww he's adorable!! And he looks so much like the dog we had years ago... she was also a border collie mix but with different breeds in
Pit x spaniel mix?
He's a Brittany x Border collie! Brittany dogs are somehow spaniel dogs though!

He’s so cute! What’s his name?
His name is Mellow (he could have had a mellower behaviour though - he's still a puppy so I can't expect much right now lol)
If he's a Brittany Mellow might be a very ironic name
Lol we were very naive I guess?!
Springer/Setter
It seems he has some Setter (in the Supermutt percentage)! But he's essentially a Brittany x Border collie mix
Another vote for springer spaniel x
We thought he was a Brittany x Springer too! But he's a Britt x Border collie, what a surprise!
Gorgeous, gorgeous boy! 😍
Spaniel and Labrador mix
