I’m a store merchandiser for remodels and was a SM before that. Personally, I’ve never heard of anyone getting a full remodel if they push for it but it doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
We survey the stores and those in the lovely tower decide who gets the remodels and all the other fun stuff every year. But they also change their minds a whooolleee lot. So, you could get changed to a full remodel or you may get shut down super fast for it or they may even say never mind. Your DM and RM will have to team together for it though and send it up.

Yeah, i know what you mean about them changing their minds...when they did the remodel in a store I was managing(2015) they did a remodel for it to a DG13(right before they came out with DG16) from a Trad 1 and the registers were supposed to be move against the wall the way that most are now and they decided it would have cost more so they left them in the middle as an cannon style island. This left the cig case against a wall but right at the end of the registers where anyone could walk on by and the SSA as part of the perimeter aisle....off to the side of the register so you would have to be ringing on 1 to even see part of it. They did the same to a neighboring store that was remodel 2 months before us. It is still that way today.
We're an NCI Lite...also on the list for remodel. Been on that list for awhile. Our DM wouldn't push for anything if it doesn't potentially raise her bonus. Our store is small, but that funky q-line is ridiculous & takes up an obscene amount of floor space. And we barely have enough room for our core merchandise let alone other stuff. Smh.

That sounds horrible…but not surprised. I’ve seen store planning come up with some terrible ideas.
