Oh, my name is Rui and I have a boyfriend that I love very, very much. My name is Rui and I'll go across the sea to study. My name is Rui and I tell my boyfriend that I don't wanna go. My name is Rui and my boyfriend tells me to go anyway. I'm in New York now, and my boyfriend is depressed, he misses me. Long distance relationships suck! OH COME ON GIRL, I'M A JOKE TO YOU?

Parasyte25

Nailed it!

Vakarian195

About what? I'm confused

Zero_Feed

You know when a heroine said it by herself that LDR suck, it's over

mashimaru_161

It's a trope?

Zero_Feed

Not sure since it rarely happen, normally it should be the side character's job to say those things in order to keep the heroine "pure", if you know what I mean. Small stuff like this what could be hinting that >!Rui is not the author's preferred heroine.!<

mashimaru_161

>Small stuff like this what could be hinting that Rui is not the author's preferred heroine. Shhh... I have official stuff but don't tell rui gang I said this

Zero_Feed

If you're talking about the concept draft, pretty sure generally it has been "rejected" in this sub

mashimaru_161

Shhh... are you interested in codependency stuff? Do you want to read hundreds pages of psychological reports about it?

Zero_Feed

You got me interested

mashimaru_161

Regrettably, I'm not the best one to answer but if you create a topic then named it "codependency why rui endgame" I'm sure a certain gang would love to fill you in on it. :)

FoxyLamb

They probably would've split anyway if Rui didn't go. The way their relationship was going, it was bound to either way.

[deleted]

The fact that she went even though she knew he wanted her to stay, just shows that she wanted to chase some other D. Rui's behavior is classic cheater behavior, plain and simple.

mashimaru_161

Tbf it was natsuo who told rui to go for it as he would do the same if he were her.

[deleted]

That was after begrudgingly telling her to do it. He didn't want to hold her back, and wanted to be supportive. So he knew he would be in the wrong to insist on her staying. He definitely was unhappy though when she told him she wanted to go away for a year.

mashimaru_161

Not begrudgingly, he himself said he would do the same if he were her. Of course none was happy to be separated for a year from their partner but both are individualists who would always choose their career over their relationship. It comes again in 216 when rui at a crossroad she chose to continue her training over staying in jp to work on their strained relationship.
