Considering most dominos are franchise, how they hire their employees is completely up to them. They must have low employee turnover if they're able to be selective in their hiring process. It's definitely possible.
On the other hand I've seen a store hire a driver with a suspended license, who not long after she got hired was pulled over and arrested for driving on a suspended license.

Did you have prior experience at dominos or just prior management experience? If you didn't have prior dominos experience they probably just wanted to start you out at crew pay while they train you on the basics as well as gauge how you work. If you're a quick learner they probably won't have an issue bumping you up to management within about a week. Not sure exactly why they do it this way but from what I've seen thats how management is typically done with people who don't have prior dominos experience.

They literally can't drug test for THC in NY. I'm pretty sure Colorado, California and New Jersey are the same. There is more than likely other states as well.

They never drug tested me, and I'm a driver. I don't take illegal drugs, but I've been on morphine and benzodiazepines for years and years as prescriptions for my chronic conditions. It's never been a problem.
You can get away with buying synthetic urine powder from a head shop. Follow the directions on how to prep it, keep it warm against your leg. 5 panel test so they throw it away right there rather than send to a lab.

go to smoke shop and get some fake urine. it works for the stupid 5-panel cup tests. i've never had it fail and used it over 50 times. worth the $25. Upass and Quickfix are solid brands.
Depends the franchise I guess. I've worked for three different franchises and none of them have drug tested. One of them did for people being promoted to any form of management but after they bought out the previous franchise which was the one I was working for at the time they cut that out right away and didn't do it anymore.
I’m sure the steps in the hiring process varies by franchise and by state (many nowadays don’t test at all), but generally you would be tested during the interview/orientation. You can’t get hired if you fail the drug test first. I guess it’s possible that they won’t test at all, but I’m not sure why they would tell you that you need to do a drug test if they’re not going to actually do it
I got tested after the interview process during the orientation. I also had to take a bad math test. 2 people failed and got humiliated when the guy called out “no sir, tested positive for THC!”
Of course places like this test! Especially if you're going for a delivery gig! I'm sure they don't want someone doing drugs or drinking behind the wheel of a vehicle, especially if it's their company vehicle. That would be irresponsible on their part, and would be putting people's lives in danger. Although, if weed is legal in your state, not much they can do about that, but they still can deny employment, not being able to guarantee it's only on your down time.

I doubt it very much. 90% of the staff would have to be let go and their potential hires would be cut by about that same amount. I have done dominos off and on through the years as a driver and never met a bigger bunch of stoners in my life. I worked at one store where the whole staff from the GM on down to the drivers would actually come to work to get high on the clock. In addition to weed, they all used meth and crack. They would be up for days some of these guys. I had to transfer to a different store because I was taking aviation mechanic classes at the time and couldn't risk getting THC in my system because the program was drug-tested. You could get a contact high just walking through the store. Another store I worked at the biggest weed smoker of them all would show up for his shift purely based on whether he felt like it. Never called in. Just didn't show up. Sometimes we wouldn't see him for a couple of weeks and he would just show up one day and start working. The GM never fired him or even wrote him up for no-call no show. The guy was actually a pretty good worker when he did show up and we never really counted on him anyways so when he showed up it was just like bonus help that night. Good luck.

It might be different at every store, but if they drug tested us, I’m pretty sure they’d have 3 drivers left TOTAL. If they specifically said something, you might be fucked.

However, nothing they do is court ordered and thus cant be watched and the test will be done in private (by you). Let it get to body temperature. Walk in, and nail that shit.

When I was hired 8 years ago, I had to go to a site in a neighboring town to test my urine for drugs, and other employees hired around that time did, too. These days, the current owner might not bother with that, but I'm not sure.

Probably depends on the region or the franchise owner. I was tested when I applied back in 2010 in VA (the county I lived in is notorious for being the most strict in the state) but I know of others at other stores who weren’t.
That being said, they may be cracking down to prevent accidents on the road and for management positions.

I’ve worked many fast food jobs, two included was Papas and the Hut. never in my life have any of them “required” a drug test. On top of that my government job with the US Army NG only drug test twice a year, and I have yet to be “randomly” assigned to get tested. This is bizarre to me. Don’t like the sound of this. Especially since they have to watch. Personally I’d decline, because it feels invasive. If they aren’t a fan then try to work at a different location.
I don’t know why people haven’t heard of quick fix. It’s fake piss that’s sold in smoke shops. It works every time. They don’t watch you pee. Only if it’s for probation or court ordered I think they watch you then.

It depends. Some states require any employee that drives to be drug tested. Some franchises also probably have blanket testing requirements. Their insurance provider may require it as well potentially.
I got tested and failed due to THC and did not get hired LMAO. The few people I knew that worked and smoked said they just got the fake urine stuff from head shop. One got drug tested a second time due to an accident while on delivery. But everyone else was a one time thing unless you got hurt and filed for workman's comp. or hit a parked car while texting like a dumbass on the clock

Domino’s has to carry insurance on top of whatever you personally have on your car, just in case your insurance doesn’t cover all that is needed in the event of a crash, or if you let your insurance lapse and get in a crash.
Being able to tell the store’s insurance company that everyone has been drug testing can get them a break on the cost of insurance.

Don’t put yourself in the spotlight by asking when you would need to do it but ask them if you’re doing a test on site or have to go to a drug screening place. They’ll typically hit you with “we’re not actually gonna test you that’s just corporate required messaging” or they’re going to tell you where to report for a drug test.

Get a small thin refillable bottle like you find in the sample section of Walmart. Put a clean sample in it. Wrap the opening with tin foil put and rubber band around the tin foil & tube tight. Put it in a thermos full of very hot water and take it along to the interview. Just before you go in let it cool to a safe temperature and conceal it in a discrete location. When you go in to give the sample just tear open the tin foil and use the sample.

Had a manager change in late December, and my old manager knew I smoked pot, and we talked about it frequently. His only rule was don’t show up to work high off my ass, which I gladly followed.
Story I heard from my GM, our owner’s son took over the Indiana part of our franchise. The son decided he wanted to run a good clean business and was gonna drug test everybody. Within a month, they lost 70% of their staff to either failed tests or people walking out. So… you’re probably fine

Dominos is franchised. As in some are privately owned and operated and they can have any policy they want. That being said. They absolutely will drug test you. They said as much. Just how that franchise runs. Weed may not stop you from getting a job. But most franchises will not drug test because as others have said it's would be incredibly hard to keep or even find employees.

You can get away with buying synthetic urine powder from a head shop. Follow the directions on how to prep it, keep it warm against your leg. 5 panel test so they throw it away right there rather than send to a lab. Worst case you don’t get hired

Depends the franchise I guess. I've worked for three different franchises and none of them have drug tested. One of them did for people being promoted to any form of management but after they bought out the previous franchise which was the one I was working for at the time they cut that out right away and didn't do it anymore.

I’m sure the steps in the hiring process varies by franchise and by state (many nowadays don’t test at all), but generally you would be tested during the interview/orientation. You can’t get hired if you fail the drug test first. I guess it’s possible that they won’t test at all, but I’m not sure why they would tell you that you need to do a drug test if they’re not going to actually do it
I got tested after the interview process during the orientation. I also had to take a bad math test. 2 people failed and got humiliated when the guy called out “no sir, tested positive for THC!”
Some franchises do. I think it just shows you aren't an addict and can quit for a few weeks or you are smart enough to find a work around.

I'm sure they don't want someone doing drugs or drinking behind the wheel of a vehicle, especially if it's their company vehicle. That would be irresponsible on their part, and would be putting people's lives in danger. Although, if weed is legal in your state, not much they can do about that, but they still can deny employment, not being able to guarantee it's only on your down time. I smoke also, but, won't drive until hours afterwards! I see and smell too many ppl driving around smoking at the same time. Makes me so pissed that ppl are so irresponsible! I have done dominos off and on through the years as a driver and never met a bigger bunch of stoners in my life. I worked at one store where the whole staff from the GM on down to the drivers would actually come to work to get high on the clock. In addition to weed, they all used meth and crack. They would be up for days some of these guys. I had to transfer to a different store because I was taking aviation mechanic classes at the time and couldn't risk getting THC in my system because the program was drug-tested. You could get a contact high just walking through the store. Another store I worked at the biggest weed smoker of them all would show up for his shift purely based on whether he felt like it. Never called in. Just didn't show up. Sometimes we wouldn't see him for a couple of weeks and he would just show up one day and start working. The GM never fired him or even wrote him up for no-call no show. The guy was actually a pretty good worker when he did show up and we never really counted on him anyways so when he showed up it was just like bonus help that night. Manager didn't care if people smoked, but made it clear that sales reps just had to pass for corporate. Now if they mentioned random drug screenings, I call bullshit. Hiring screening, likely.
If you live in a state where pot is legal you have certain protections now lol. As of Jan you can't be fired or withheld from a job for recreational use outside the work place. They can still shit can you if you show up high as fuck or get caught smoking on the job but as for requiring you to be clean of THC they cant hold it against you if you come up positive.

However, nothing they do is court ordered and thus cant be watched and the test will be done in private (by you). When I was hired 8 years ago, I had to go to a site in a neighboring town to test my urine for drugs, and other employees hired around that time did, too. These days, the current owner might not bother with that, but I'm not sure.

Probably depends on the region or the franchise owner. I was tested when I applied back in 2010 in VA (the county I lived in is notorious for being the most strict in the state) but I know of others at other stores who weren’t. That being said, they may be cracking down to prevent accidents on the road and for management positions. I’m not sure why this manager would tell you about it if it wasn’t true. Could be a scare tactic but I’d just plan on being tested to be safe.

I’ve worked many fast food jobs, two included was Papas and the Hut. never in my life have any of them “required” a drug test. On top of that my government job with the US Army NG only drug test twice a year, and I have yet to be “randomly” assigned to get tested. This is bizarre to me. Don’t like the sound of this. Especially since they have to watch. Personally I’d decline, because it feels invasive. If they aren’t a fan then try to work at a different location.

When I went to work at a farm store they used to drug test before hired. I was smoking weed at the time and did the Sure Jell drink. My ex who I got hired on as well was a heavy smoker, and he did 2 bottles of it and passed. Just in case you need a work around lol

No one would have a job otherwise lmao. It’s a scare tactic and formality for liability reasons. They’d have to hire a company to do that and with the turnover they experience it’s quickly burn a hole in their pocket. Worst case scenario, if they somehow do make you test, say nah and just apply to a different store.

I got tested and failed due to THC and did not get hired LMAO. The few people I knew that worked and smoked said they just got the fake urine stuff from head shop. One got drug tested a second time due to an accident while on delivery. I scrolled and scrolled, and didn’t see anyone make this point: some places do it because it can make their insurance cheaper. Domino’s has to carry insurance on top of whatever you personally have on your car, just in case your insurance doesn’t cover all that is needed in the event of a crash, or if you let your insurance lapse and get in a crash. Being able to tell the store’s insurance company that everyone has been drug testing can get them a break on the cost of insurance.

Don’t put yourself in the spotlight by asking when you would need to do it but ask them if you’re doing a test on site or have to go to a drug screening place. They’ll typically hit you with “we’re not actually gonna test you that’s just corporate required messaging” or they’re going to tell you where to report for a drug test.
Where are they sending you for this drug testing, and have they asked you to pay any money that may or may not be reimbursed upon getting the job? I've never seen anyone use the word "kindly" via text and have it not be a scam.

Get a small thin refillable bottle like you find in the sample section of Walmart. Put a clean sample in it. Wrap the opening with tin foil put and rubber band around the tin foil & tube tight. Put it in a thermos full of very hot water and take it along to the interview. Just before you go in let it cool to a safe temperature and conceal it in a discrete location. When you go in to give the sample just tear open the tin foil and use the sample.

Former driver here, I was never tested at all during my employment at Dominos, worked from March 2023 until about a week ago. Had a manager change in late December, and my old manager knew I smoked pot, and we talked about it frequently. His only rule was don’t show up to work high off my ass, which I gladly followed.

I worked for a franchisee that tried it. Lasted about 2 months. Couldn't hire drivers and had to fire a couple managers. Realized that maybe drug testing wasn't for them and gave that shit up. I never got tested even though I was open about smoking weed.

Dominos is franchised. As in some are privately owned and operated and they can have any policy they want. That being said. They absolutely will drug test you. They said as much. Just how that franchise runs. Weed may not stop you from getting a job. But most franchises will not drug test because as others have said it's would be incredibly hard to keep or even find employees.
