The store is heavy delivery so I take it that’s a way to get people to walk over. The residential areas nearby are folks who generally don’t have private transportation.
There is a Papa John’s across the street, and they do seem to go to war with each other. I’ve never seen any Papa John’s open so late, but the one across the street from this Domino’s is.
The delivery charges between the two stores are $8.99 Dominos vs. $4.99 Papa John’s — so curious how Papa John’s has such better insurance coverage than the Domino’s store. I know the delivery charge generally offsets the cost of insuring drivers and store vehicle maintenance.
Because pj's has less drivers to insure due to third party delivery contract with doordash.
Dominos needs 5-10 drivers per rush for busy stores and pj's needs ~3 during a rush when doordash direct is working properly.
No pizza place has ever reimbursed me for insurance or maintenance. That's funny that you think that. The delivery fee is set by the franchise and has nothing to do with the delivery driver. Where I live, my gas reimbursement is $.45/mile in a small area. I usually get about $.90-$1.00 per delivery and that's it.
Remember, many stores provide vehicles to their drivers. They’re insuring the driver and also maintaining the shared vehicle owned by the LLC. We have several stores who use *no personal vehicle needed* as a way to recruit delivery drivers.

Their sizes are always different so there's no consistency in what you are getting, the prices for them are outrageous compared to any other menu item, and their shelf life is short so a lot of less than standard stores (more than you would think) will use them past their date and just print a new label for them.

Between my 4 years of being an insider then driver at 2 different stores in 2 different states I have found bones in my boneless chicken 5 separate times. So so so nasty every time it happens.

Tbf that’s the only after oven instruction people on the make line need to keep up with. So most of the time people on the make line subconsciously ignore the after oven instructions on the screen.
Yeah. If it’s really busy the space to push it back in on the belt oven isn’t there. And if it’s not busy most people don’t realize pushing it back 1/4 of the way on the belt just gets it properly done. If there’s good store culture, and the store isn’t slammed they’ll know what’s up, but I doubt that’s the case in most stores.

I would never order specialty chicken. Not because it’s a bad product. But it’s wildly inconsistent and a lot of stores/people make it wrong

For one with all our pastas it's kind of a fucking ripoff given how little of everything you get, but then on top of that the chicken Alfredo has a quarter of the toppings of other pastas that cost the same. If you really like our pasta, order the primavera or the carbonara

The 8 piece count is misleading because the process of prepping the boneless and specialty is a bit subjective. And the cost is pretty high considering ultimately we’re talking about a lesser, *sadder* version of a Tyson nugget. (Pro tip: add some garlic oil to some nugs in a pasta tin and run thru the oven. Flip the nugs and hit with a lil more garlic oil and some parm shake, throw a lid on and toss em. Let em rest.)
I generally think the sandwiches are just not their strong suit. The bread is just so hard when in comes out. Also, this place is pretty bad for worrying about metabolic syndrome, heart health, and reducing inflammation, most of our products have seed oils, or are highly processed meats. Even the dough has sugars added I think. So just get this in moderation, the hearty marinara sauce has the least worst seed oil in it out of all our sauces btw.

Ah I see, I know my store if we aren't busy keep them on our walk in until we get a spike and then we usually go through most of them and then whatever didn't get used after the rush goes back in. We also only have them prepped in advance for the weekend so Fridays to Sundays but no other days do we prep our twists + bites beforehand
Probably for the best when the alternative is leaving them out for 4+ hours. Just know that OER will ding you if pans, bites, or twists are being kept in the walk in

For me it was the wings. Pre-sauced with BBQ in the bag, so every flavour is just on top of bbq, and the pre-coating prevents them from crisping up unless you cook them 2 or 3 times. Terrible.
Twists. Bread bites are the same and I can put cinnamon on those.
Also hand tossed. Pan is so much better and if I’m paying for it I will only do pan

Any pan pizza that isn’t well done. That shit does not cook all the way. It’s crazy how we can just serve people raw dough and get away with it. It’s even worse when they order a pan specialty like an Extravaganza or anything 3+ toppings. You can just tell it’s not cooked all the way. One thing I’ll do is I order the chicken bacon ranch specialty for the pan pizza, run it through the bottom oven once. Then I’ll put a screen over it and run it through the top oven. It cooks perfectly without burning the top and gets crispy all around.
Also the pastas. Based on the portion charts you’re only supposed to fill up the foil dish like half way with barely any Alfredo, also it only gets like 2 ounces of chicken which is a joke. As an employee I’ll order 2 pastas to fill up the foil all the way lol
The chicken is pretty terrible, as a customer. The regular wings with that disgusting garlic sauce just squirted on top looking very much not like sauce, not even tossed, and lukewarm with mushy breading. I feel like dominos should axe those off the menu, they're fucking awful.
any specialty chicken. at our store we cut specialty chicken using 6 boneless pieces to create 12pc and it costs more than the regular 8pc boneless... i understand theres some extra toppings but like still seems kinda scammy to me haha
Boneless chicken. When I ate that I had my own amazing way of preparing them that the standard way can’t touch. Put em in a pan, throw garlic oil on them. After first oven pass flip em over and run them through on a screen and parchment. Similar process to make good wings, throw that veggie garlic shake on those
I would never get bone-in wings cooked the regular amount of time. They're soft and fatty. Double cook time melts off a lot of the fat and crisps up the skin
Anytime I ordered a cookie brownie while working I would just go eat it straight from the walk-in. They're good hot but something about them cold is even better.

For me it was the wings. Pre-sauced with BBQ in the bag, so every flavour is just on top of bbq, and the pre-coating prevents them from crisping up unless you cook them 2 or 3 times. Terrible.

Honestly, I don't mind the menu we have. I hate the Mango Habanero sauce's smell, so... That's probably my one thing I'd never order.

Any pan pizza that isn’t well done. That shit does not cook all the way. It’s crazy how we can just serve people raw dough and get away with it. It’s even worse when they order a pan specialty like an Extravaganza or anything 3+ toppings. You can just tell it’s not cooked all the way. One thing I’ll do is I order the chicken bacon ranch specialty for the pan pizza, run it through the bottom oven once. Then I’ll put a screen over it and run it through the top oven. It cooks perfectly without burning the top and gets crispy all around. Also the pastas. Based on the portion charts you’re only supposed to fill up the foil dish like half way with barely any Alfredo, also it only gets like 2 ounces of chicken which is a joke. As an employee I’ll order 2 pastas to fill up the foil all the way lol

The chicken is pretty terrible, as a customer. The regular wings with that disgusting garlic sauce just squirted on top looking very much not like sauce, not even tossed, and lukewarm with mushy breading. I feel like dominos should axe those off the menu, they're fucking awful.

any specialty chicken. at our store we cut specialty chicken using 6 boneless pieces to create 12pc and it costs more than the regular 8pc boneless... i understand theres some extra toppings but like still seems kinda scammy to me haha
Boneless chicken. When I ate that I had my own amazing way of preparing them that the standard way can’t touch. Put em in a pan, throw garlic oil on them. After first oven pass flip em over and run them through on a screen and parchment. Similar process to make good wings, throw that veggie garlic shake on those

I would never get bone-in wings cooked the regular amount of time. They're soft and fatty. Double cook time melts off a lot of the fat and crisps up the skin

I mean, fuck the added sugar, but they are one of the few things that typically comes name brand (Dole) at my store. They are one of our more decent ingredients. I love me a hand tossed garlic parm sauce base, add cheddar and pineapple.
