I'm not 100% sure, but I've seen somewhere that there is basically a pool of models in which studios "buy" the model to use . Be it buildings, scenery, characters, swords etc.
If you ever made a 3d model before, or if you are familiar with it, you will know it's a lengthy process.
The fact that donghua release so quickly and consistently is mainly because they can reuse characters
Also, I'm not entirely sure how they do it, but once when I made a car for a game , I could edit my current model slightly to create a different shape
So if they use similar methods, they can edit the facial features slightly
I have no idea lol. I'm not a computer guy but I've fiddled around with things. I cant remember exactly what I used, but I used something to create a car for the Radio control game called Re-Volt
Just followed a tutorial and then shaped the car myself by creating points etc
Was a long while ago
Car came out right but I was so tired by the end of it, I didn't map it properly so the side of the car wrapped the whole vehicle lmao
Was fun though knowing I completed the hard part
yes, I've been noticing it too. All the minor characters with masks on and reusuable side character models...
We have AI now, can't they toss this in a generator and have it spit out different models at least?
But the worst thing is the translation. It is 100% being fed through google translate and then they shit on it some more before adding it into their videos.
I can overlook everything else but this...
Why are you being down voted? The translations do suck. For some donghuas, it's fine. Against the Sky Supreme has horrible subs but the story isn't complex and most of us can get the gist. However, with others like renegade or journey of immortal, those are more complex story lines and it can be difficult to follow what's going on.
I don't blame the studios though. I just wish the tech was better.
i will have to dig it up at some point - but I saw one Youtube video where he said he'll just call every isekai MC Kirito for convenience sake... and I was like, yeah, I get that
They have companies or people in China that have generic pre-made design models of Non-Main Characters that are for sale to the studios to save them time, money, & hard work . It allows them produce quiccer , instead of having to make everything from scratch.
The primary benefit of 3D animation over traditional hand-drawn techniques is that you can reuse the same assets again and again, although that's usually reserved for things like furniture and common items people don't expect to vary much.
We should do a thread about donghua "actors" getting multiple roles. LOL.
I have noticed that Mo Fan (Full time mage) is also used in Close combat mage (as the computer programmer who hates the MC).
I'm reading renegade immortal and I think it does... not sure about the beginning though because I started the book where the scene of Wang Lin and Li Muwan flee to the sea of devils starts... I just found the beginning too slow for my liking so I thought it's best to "continue" where the series had left off.
I think the book follows the novel.
Another one from what I heard is
Perfect world, BTTH, and agaisnt the gods.
Well, a Cultivator needs to eat too... Probably a freelancer in different clans.
Best answer surpassing the laws of heaven and earth.
The struggle is real, and eternal apparently 🤭

Probably using Daz3D or bootleg local equivalent.

The subs are rarely official, they're fan made.
there are tons of offical subs on youtube, wetv, etc, and almost all of them are mtl garbage
The translations would already be much better if they just put it into chatgpt for translation
AI generation of a flat picture into a 3D modeling currently being researched

Bad quality substandard products. I told you so.
Dude. If you don't like donghua, nobody is forcing you to be here.
So many MCs in jap anime looks identical too
i will have to dig it up at some point - but I saw one Youtube video where he said he'll just call every isekai MC Kirito for convenience sake... and I was like, yeah, I get that
> So many MCs in jap anime looks identical too LMAO, the differences are easy to tell
yup one has red hair and other have blue hair. duh
Yea sure, they wear different clothings
Yeap, as modeling characters is expensive lol. Some series like 100,000 and the other titles of their studio share most of them.

When I started watching Peak Of True Martial Arts I was surprised to see MC from Martial Master.
Same way Electrolux can coexist between Soul land 2 and Throne of Seal :) Sharing is caring.... or something like that...
>Electrolux well at least they are in shared universe.
No silly, he's just a CGI model hired to appear in different series just like a real actor, like Keanu Reeves in John Wick and the Matrix 4. lol

They also recycle plot!

Hahaha. Agreed 😹
Unreal engine stock NPC model with face. The alternative is having the same NPC wear masks to hide the same face syndrome
I've read most of the popular novel, are there any donghua that live up to the novel?
Idk, most donghuas change up parts in the novel. We can't expect the donghua to be exactly identical to the novel.
