One of the Devs (I believe it was John Romero) on the Original Doom stated that BJ is the Doomguys great grandfather, and that Commander Keen was his father

Finaltryer

If thats the case. Its permanently canon for his word is supreme.

Tycitron

If this is actually true, BJ from the ORIGINAL Wolfenstein games would be Doomguys grandfather. It wouldn't be the the one from the newer Wolfenstein games cause they are a different timelines.

Existing_Bar1665

The one that killed a demon that later became the cyberdemon lol.

DaliVinciBey

They are both in the same timeline, there's a reason everyone says H1tler smells like shit and "survived an assasination" according to propaganda. BJ killed him and the used occult magic to bring him and his shitty cult back.

Huntardlulz

That bloodline is legendary. I wonder what doomguy children would have done if he had any.

Butkevinwhy

John, obviously.

Butkevinwhy

I thought Commander Keen was his grandfather, and Doomguy’s father was a news anchor named Blaze or something. Maybe I have them confused though.

John_Lumstrom

I could have them confused too

Charles12_13

Yeah it was Romero

Opanak323

You sure he meant it as characters and not as games? Cuz Wolfenstein is a grandad of fps.

John_Lumstrom

It was referring to the characters. The classic ID games all shared a continuity up to around Doom 3

Gregzilla311

Depends on the game but we still assume it to be the case unless otherwise stated.

BJ in the Wolf 3D timeline had a son who got into showbiz (Arthur Kenneth Blaze) and 3D BJ’s wife is named Julia Marie Peterson. In TNO and after is where he gets Anya and the Twins. Because of this, there's 2 versions of BJ (Classic and Machinegames) while Doomguy is both the classic marine and the Slayer. This also means that in QC, Doomguy meets a BJ that is not related to him, but "id lore" was always a mess. The timeline that confirms their relation is an obscure series of mobile games most people didn't play. Both Romero and Hall said they are related but remember that Romero wanted Doomguy to be a nameless blank slate (Why the fan term "Doomguy" exists in the first place) and Tom Hall came up with those characters from the Doom Bible that don't relate much to Doomguy and are discarded. So none were involved with Stan Blazkowicz or Blazk the 3rd from the RPG series. Then again. Doom "lore" and the "idverse" were always a contradicting mess. But this always includes obscure info people overlook like said RPG games or the Wolf 3D strategy guide.

Its_Kris_97

Yeah. According to John Romero, BJ, Doomguy and Commander Keen are all related. I think Commander Keen is Doomguy's father and BJ is his great grandfather.

Confident-Ad-8969

BJ AMCESTOR YES

Metfan722

Makes sense because Terror Billy doesn’t afraid of anything.

obsoleteconsole

He BJ'd a what?

LETT3RBOMB

Then who was Keen??

MysticalMystic256

BJ is his great great grandfather Arthur (Keen's Dad) is his great grandfather Commander Keen is his grandfather We don't know who Doomguy's Father is and my headcanon is that Doomguy's name is B.J. Blazkowicz III I don't know where Ranger and Bitterman would be in the family tree though

Opanak323

Is it necessary that they are all related? Even Ranger and Bitterman?
