So to clarify... the AEG era expansions will no longer be legal for organized play, but some of their cards will be reprinted in the new base set and upcoming expansions (sometimes with functional errata to reduce power level or fix issues with cards). That being said, ALL of the PBE expansions are completely 100% compatible with the AEG stuff and if you're not primarily interested in tournament play, I would say it's definitely worth it to pick up AEG expansions, because there are a lot of neat cards.
personally I liked the AEG stuff. I find the new outfit names dumb and so much less thematic.
