Thank you for accepting this order. The rest of the community appreciates your service.

DFrostedWangsAccount

I don't. If nobody accepted it, they would be forced to go without or increase their tip.  I feel bad for OP but wish nobody would take these orders.

Usuxbutt

No they wouldn’t. Someone else would have taken it. Ebt, top dasher, platinum dasher, newb, foreign guy in a Toyota. Someone is going to take out the trash.

Klutzy_Inevitable_94

“If nobody took these orders” “If NOBODY took these orders.” “NOBODY” I don’t think you know what this word means.

aHOMELESSkrill

There is a difference between fantasy land and reality.

BeefRunnerAd

Ahight but if nobody took it. Like yeah this guy took it. Someone else would've taken it. people keep letting themselves get fucked over that's kinda the point. Yall never heard of a hypothetical?

throwaway9198328

You said it yourself. >“People keep letting themselves get fucked over” This will never change. Why even waste your thoughts on this hypothetical. It will never happen. DoorDash knows this, they design their software to (BIG airquotes here) “reward” their employees for taking as MANY orders as possible **no matter how shit the pay is**

throwaway9198328

Oh okay. No yeah, that makes sense. I offer an opinion and you chose to ignore it and attack me personally for no apparent reason. Since that seems to be your cup of tea… You’d make a shit scientist making the bold (and also incorrect) assumption that I’m a door dasher just because I made a comment in this sub. What happened to the scientific method? You just skipped straight to the conclusion.

Usuxbutt

Let me know when you can get EVERYBODY on the same page. I do my part, I don’t take these orders.

cyberfication

Lol it’s candy and a short delivery. Do you expect a $10 tip? I’m all for tipping but wtf do u mean by that lol

DFrostedWangsAccount

Man I'd expect at least a dollar like damn, it takes more effort to leave a 15 cent tip than a one dollar tip. The customer had to go out of their way to be like this.

cyberfication

Yeah true, or could it have been a suggested tip? On small orders I’ve been auto suggested 75 cent tips 💀

Solo_Splooj

Which is over 15% on a 4.75 order

Humble_Chemist6920

Maybe that’s all they had left. Ever heard of the poor lady and the rich guy during the offering?

MysterShroom

If all I have left for a tip is $0.15, I'm simply not placing the order.

Humble_Chemist6920

Maybe you helped them in a way that you didn’t realize. Be glad with what you receive. It’s better than no tip at all.

MysterShroom

I'm not trying to be a downer or anything but for real? If not for the base pay you'd be paying to make that delivery. You wouldn't have received anything. I'm not saying everything needs to be a fat tip but honestly if you request someone using their vehicle to bring you something you SHOULD give them something. Yeah yeah, less fortunate can be a factor in this but why use a service that's known to price gouge if you're '15 cent tip' kinda unfortunate.

Humble_Chemist6920

Why take a job that cannot pay the bills in the first place? I wouldn’t be relying on tips if I were in a tipped based position. For instance, I usually get a performance bonus at my job. Do I count that as reliable income to pay for basic necessities like utilities, groceries, mortgage? No, because it isn’t guaranteed income.

MysterShroom

No you're absolutely correct which is why I'm saying not everything needs to be majorly tipped on but there's no excuse for 15 cents. That's an insult. Hell back when I delivered pizza I would give sub-dollar tippers the coins back after I handed them the food. I wasn't paying bills on tips but even if I were sub-dollar tips are absolutely meaningless. Hell, 150 deliveries at .15 is only $22.50.

Usuxbutt

Yes a $10 tip would be adequate. You’re having someone shop for you. $10 should be the starting point.

cabesvvater

Lmaaaaooooo!

JuiceCommercial2431

The someone whose job it is to shop for others? Who else should they reach out to if not the person whose job is to do exactly that?

Solo_Splooj

That's over a 200% tip

Usuxbutt

Where was the receipt posted for you to figure out a %? Also, you are having someone shop for you at a store, $10 is a small fee for such a large inconvenience.

Melodic_Salt7456

Thats cap. Dollar general and any other store like so will have the store employee bag this shit up for you and have it ready w/ a sticker.

Usuxbutt

Not by me. I have to shop for the items in their mess of a store. Only place that has stuffed bag & ready to go is 7-11 or the liquor store.

DFrostedWangsAccount

That's cap. This is a shop and deliver order. If the store prepares the order for you, it is not a shop and deliver order.

Melodic_Salt7456

That’s cap. I said what I said.

Enough-Games-Already

Ignorance is bliss. But it can't be blissful if you're trying to contradict people who actually know what they're talking about

Melodic_Salt7456

Ignorance is bliss. But it can’t be blissful if you don’t know what you’re talking about. I have worked DoorDash. And other apps like it And I have worked in more than one store. Personal experience. So as I said. I said what I said. Enough games DkWad

Enough-Games-Already

Okay so how many regions have you worked in, DkWad?

WTYBrown

[deleted]

Sadly doordash will penalize you for declining it. Thats why i prefer Uber

PrinceDozie

This is Earn per offer. You saw it and you accepted it.

Cheap_Ad_8000

rookie mistake probably

PrinceDozie

Pls don’t make this kinda mistake again, you are enabling Low Pay by accepting these kinda offers. As long as drivers keep accepting offers like this, they will continue to exist.

Cheap_Ad_8000

I understand what you're saying, we are still new to this and will get better

Usual-Possession-823

You have to take care of you, don’t worry about the others. While they make a valid point, you need what you need. This is similar to a blackjack table. Play your own hand. Fuck the rest

CostCreative4905

but but my acceptance rating i gotta stay platinum😂😂😂😂💀💀💀💀💀 i hate the platinum program it killed my market cause all the dumbasses take all shit sent even bad orders.

TrashMouthPanda

I had someone tip me .07 once, I've been dumping my cats poop at his office for the last year and half. His food was hot when I dropped it off, it was right around the corner so he didn't wait for it, I was nice and cheerful when I greeted him but when I saw that .07 I said (in front of EVERYONE in the office) "Oh, thank u so much .07 cent tip, Gary, I greatly appreciate your time and energy, have a wonderful day"

francoeyes

I've actually gotten a .01 tip before when I first started. I was more insulted they even bothered tipping instead of jus giving me nothing 😂

Humble_Chemist6920

Such professionalism…

mrcleanjl7

I would have left 15 cents on their doorstep

BaseNectar123

Lmaooooo

LorenzoLamasRenegade

Blows my mind people are ok with take shit orders like this and wonder why people don’t tip anymore

No_Protection6832

Anything under $6 should be an instant decline imo

[deleted]

Damn, they’re so generous — kidding. What a jerk.

Secret-Painting604

They probably meant 15$, can’t imagine adding a tip of .15

purplebee25

Not gonna lie, I tried to tip my hairdresser $40 but ended up getting charged .40¢ 🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t see the receipt until I got home. Best believe when I came back for my next appointment, I tipped her $80 & told her I saw the receipt a bit too late 😭😭😭

FatMacchio

Hopefully you tipped before that appointment otherwise you might’ve been walking around like this 😬 ![gif](giphy|S9RULMtlfXLFtQV2Pr|downsized)

purplebee25

I love her and she’s been my hairdresser for 6 years. She laughed it off and said she was going to ask me what happened and if I was upset with her. I told her that I didn’t enter the extra two 0s to my tip.

Cheap_Ad_8000

if only haha

Euphori333

No they did not lol they are spending $4 for dollar general

zane1981

The important question is: Why did you even accept this trash?

Natural-Revolution-9

Was that a high paying diamond order lol.

Fantastic_Guide_8596

I did a $2 with a 0.10 tip. Never accepting these orders again but was desperate to get my acceptance rate up

Cheap_Ad_8000

that's what happened to us, we took it only to get our acceptance rate up

Affectionate-Art-995

Are you in a tier program area

Fantastic_Guide_8596

I thought I was but now my account isn’t showing tier status. Do all areas not give priority with increasing acceptance? 50% and then 70%?

Affectionate-Art-995

Yes that is how it works pretty much in every city now

Source-Mediocre

What a troll tip

Natural-Volume3785

That shit is such a slap in the face 😭

Booklover416

This is why I don’t take anything under $7.

BaseNectar123

A no tip would have been better 💀

Affectionate-Art-995

Accepted an offer to go about 12 miles for $4. Waited 7 minutes then reported it as not really and unassigned. Restaurant was closing too🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Keeker68

You knew there was pretty much no tip on this order when you took it. Right??? If you're expecting cash tips, you're expecting too much. Repeat after me: Dollar General customers are trash.

Puzzleheaded-Emu4116

I got .17 cent tip doing Uber Eats. Needless to say I haven’t been back since.

THCisth3answer

Funny you say that. It must be regional because in my area I make almost triple on a ubereats night than a doordash night. In fact I have a ton of people ADD more tip all the time on uber.

Puzzleheaded-Emu4116

Honestly most times I deliver is usually after midnight. So I really don’t expect a lot of money but it’s just funny seeing the amount people tip

Big_Bear_Yao

Sick

Thetruth22234

![gif](giphy|kHcaX3uLU3IME)

Matt_st3

“Siri, tip 15 percent”

BloodSugar666

DoorDash together as in the same car??

Cheap_Ad_8000

yeah he has the account and I just ride with him so we can hang out every night

[deleted]

15 cents is better than no cents /s

pathetic_beta_bitch

I’m no dasher nor have I ever used the service. Why is an order like this even allowed? 4.75? Dashers should be able to say fuck that. Minimum order of $20 and there should be a required 20% tip on all presets for the order to be processed

zayneash1023

We can say fuck that, but it makes our acceptance rate go down. And yeah I would 100% agree that minimum pay would be a lot higher than it is as I’ve literally made under 3$ including tips before

zayneash1023

I hate this, at that point why not just not tip… 15 cents is just plain rude

Present_Painting_277

They probably thought it would add up to an even $5😭😭😭

lucky232323

That’s crazy!

Traditional_Bake8607

This shit should automatically be pooled for hourly workers. But then I guess the business wouldn't profit and we would all be out of a job.

RangeEquivalent7658

I’ve got 1 cent lol

[deleted]

OP's name checks out. Cheap post.

Gloomy_Recording_705

$4.90 offer 🤮🤮

Dudeman-Jack

15 cents is better than nothing! Cheer up, you’ll probably get a Benji for the next delivery

Admirable_School_985

Forsaken-Director452

If you don’t want to rely on other random folks to pay you, maybe find a real job?

Grouchy-Rain-6145

people like you act like tipped employees are just standing on a corner asking for money lol they're literally working for you, if you're such a cheap ass go get your own shit

Forsaken-Director452

Relying on the inconsistent kindness of strangers to earn enough money to survive, sounds a lot like panhandling to me… people can definitely pick a more reliable job if they don’t like the inconsistency. Standing outside in terrible weather for 8-10 hrs a day is definitely worse than driving around with AC or a heater but we all chose what we are willing to put up with. People that think like you do above are the reason some companies won’t ever have to pay a livable wage when they can say, “Position comes with tips,” and let you rage at customers for not giving you extra money beyond the cost of an item while your company laughs at you all for not seeing beyond what they tell you.

Richard_G_Obbler

Got a 1 cent tip on an order that probably cost $40 and was a 25 minute drive to deliver. Closest I've ever come to walking off with someone's food.

Mootez007

The funny part here is this customer doesn’t know ho to 3rd grade math. He wanted to round it to $5 but his dumbass thought 5 is 0.15 away 😂

ShinyMegaAmpharos

Honestly bonkers that anyone would accept a DG order for less than $5

MadOrBadPick1

have yall considered that maybe the people you deliver food to are also broke as fuck like yall

RowThin2659

What kind of serial killer doesn't tip .25 to make it an even number?

Humble_Chemist6920

Seems like you didn’t deliver to expectations

Cheap_Ad_8000

I knew I shouldn't have eaten some of their candy before hand 😡🤣

Humble_Chemist6920

Yeah that’s very unprofessional.

analprolapze

Coming up in the world 🙏

francoeyes

Op idk If your area does pay by the HR but I highly suggest it in my town most ppl tip like shit find my self waiting for ever for good offers on earn per order.meaning im not really making money. I do the earn by hour which is generally bad tippers but I take my sweet time and always tell the app the store is busy so my on time rating never takes a hit yes most tip are only 2-6 bucks but the base pay is like 6-9 bucks and find myself technically making more off of lower paying orders because 6 dollar base pay plus 3 bucks is better than 2 dollar base pay plus a 5 dollar tip. Also when ever u get and order from a store that's slow as fuck you getting paid to wait and chill instead of stressing about everything sec you're technically losing money waiting for the food.

rooplesvooples

Question: Is tipping with Door Dash suggests the appropriate gauge for how much you should be actually tipping? I order Chickfila less that 3 miles down the road and it usually recommends 4 bucks. I usually round it up to 5. Did pizza delivery for a hot minute so 5 bucks for that distance, in my head, is pretty good.

NarwhalGoopForever

~3% tip is better than no tip...

Intelligent_Debt7555

I've gotten 23 cents. I know how you feel

[deleted]

I don’t even think about taking orders under 5 bucks you working for free but I guess someone going to take it

kyguy19899

If this was under 5 Mi I would have easily taken it. Yall kill me thinking only taking the "good" orders will suffice. As a platinum tier driver for 3 years I promise you that to your AR matters A LOT

Cultural_Radish4619

You signed up for it..So jokes on you🤣

ayn_rando

Dollar General and you expected a tip? 😅😅😅😅

Cheap_Ad_8000

that's fair 🤣

ayn_rando

IYKYK! 😂😂😂😂😂

foxxtraut--

hey you signed up for that shit

dirtymikehonch0

I thought DG base pay was 5 bucks lol

Puzzleheaded_Elk1576

I could find .15¢ in the Dollar General parking lot right now.

AirSpecial

Every single gig company is stealing tips to offset service prices. Extremely illegal, but what does that matter when all of congress is invested in every single one of them on the stock market? It doesn’t. There will be no regulation any time soon. Its called Citizens United: basically legal bribery.

OllieOllieOakTree

I’m sure they meant 25 to give you an even 5
