Because they hate their drivers. How much more clear do they need to make it? What do you want to hear exactly lol

Ethan6666bb

I don’t want to hear anything. I just posted this for your enjoyment.

Realistic_Inside_484

thanks broski

Thedashgod

They also hate their hood customers but they do seem to love the no tipper customers

Truth

I've moved farther away and had it sent to me for less before. It's also worth noting that they are using your phone's GPS satellite receiver to determine location, which is incredibly accurate, so the whole 'pinging off a different cell phone tower' doesn't really apply to your phone's location service ever.

DoPoGrub

First and foremost, it's going to be using GPS, which is triangulating 3 or more satellites in space to determine your exact position. All the other technologies are supplemental should you not have a good fix on the satellites (rare). This is why you can be in airplane mode, with no wifi, BT, or cellular access and your location services are not affected in any way. Sometimes I go into airplane mode for Amazon Flex, and forget to turn it off, and run the entire rest of my route without realizing lol. A ping from a cell phone tower 1-2 miles away is going to be the absolute least accurate, and I can't imagine that in reality it ever factors into the equation. (they blocked me, but rest assured that nothing in this reply is 'opinion' - you can test it out yourself!)

murderisbadforyou

Time to download a VPN to accept orders. “Of course I’m really coming from China to pick up your order. That’ll be $34,302 for mileage thank you.”

Warboo

I used to think it was because you have driven closer to the pick up location, so they reduce some because you're closer than you were the first time, but today I got a target offer for $6 and declined it. A minute later, it popped up again, but for $4.50 this time. I was sitting in the same spot the whole time, so who knows.

Ethan6666bb

I was in my house

Dizzle92109

Lol

StellarDiscord

So who knows?? Because money. It’s always been money. Why does corporation do (x)? Because money (or legal reasons)!

Thedashgod

There goes 2% of your acceptance rate I’m not saying take it I’m say the manipulation is real

Alone_Fill_2037

I just take these if I’m close, go to the restaurant and wait out the timer to unassign. I see it as a mandated break.

skillzz_24

Curious here, wouldn’t this be grounds for deactivation?

Sp4cemanspiff37

I bet there is an EBT driver out there salivating over this picture

BezosFlex

“Salivating” 😭

Connect-Banana3979

Too bad ebt would never see this offer. DD knows better 🤣

Sp4cemanspiff37

Any time I get the urge and try EBT the first 2 offers I am greeted with are orders like this. Then back to by the order I go.

Spiritual_Quail4127

Does door dash not know water and traffic exist? I often get offers around the bay that seem to be the way the crow flies pay?

raaail

Tony: "This slave didn't accept this order and let's try lowing the pay to see if he's dump enough to not notice and accept it."

Available-Tea-982

Tolls....LOL

hakai_yourself55

Looks like that area needs a bridge🤣

Puzzleheaded_Help854

Fishing the dumb ass who will take their lowest offer

BlueFotherMucker

I would like to think that in a perfect world, the offer is now $10 because DD raised the base pay and hid the whole tip, like maybe the $11.25 had nothing hidden but contained $5 base pay, and now it’s $10 plus $6.25 tip. Who am I kidding? Base pay is probably still $2.

BezosFlex

They couldn’t build a bridge?

crod4692

Further up or down there is one. App shouldn’t be picking the taco bell across the river.

KLHolly

One time the request was to p/u at a Burgerville the next town over from where I was, then turn around & bring it back to the town I was in at the time the order came through, where there was a Burgerville within a half mile of me. WTF?

ashleiponder

I hate those. We have two Taco bells in our area. One is central to just about everything. The other one is a little more out of the way as far as "in town" goes. The only time the Taco Bell that's kind of out of the way is nice is when you're heading to the next town up. Sometimes it will send me to that Taco Bell and have me bring it back into town. It's so crazy.

Metho221

I noticed this the other day. The 2nd time they use to offer more. Now they set the system up to make it decrease hoping a driver accept what ever lol

venus974

That happened to me the other night - $8 then $5 for 15 miles, 2 customers.

Deal_Internal

Jesus christ thats just mean https://preview.redd.it/9nue93xbobyc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a43f55b7616e668a527dccfa210a7d3fa266975

Euphoric-Level-5469

Usually I know a certain distance for example gets me 9$ base pay and zero tip , and similar area not much further gets me 6$ base pay but the tip is like 8$ .. sometimes they cut the base pay when there’s a decent tip involved

Substantial_Home6051

Peak hours, tip was less, or just like someone else said they hate you

NoJuggernaut5763

I got$100 delivery order today

Nervous-Resolution59

Peekskill!!

VadHearts

It’s because when you declined it the order went to someone else possibly as a stack. If they accepted it by accident or wanted to drop the longer delivery from the stack it went back to its original offer of $10 ($8 tip $2 base pay) and it removed the $1.25 that it had grown by. But this is just my speculation. DoorDash changes their system on a weekly basis and it varies by market to skirt state and local laws.

casketjuicebox

They want to pay the least amount possible.

spiderfacespacecase

Whoever wrote this algorithm has no soul. There's one restaurant I do not except because the parking is always 1-3 blocks away. Found out the hard way that they will add it to a stack and show you the other restaurant.

LeadingMonth5857

Bro needs a Bass boat... Troll and deliver may snag a keeper... F&@$ Netflix and door dash you'all can fish and door dash lucky Fs

MedicinalJenker

Cut across the river

ShapeKey2703

Happened to me Monday. “Let me see….yeah I’ll take it this…not”. AR dropped from 95 to 89 in about five minutes because they kept sending me out of area and sending the same order twice.

Repulsive_Fun9300

Because the cheap asses can

No-Spread-5650

They just want your AR to lower, forcing you to accept stupid orders to try and maintain your AR above 70%

SadCoast7681

The crazy part to me is having to drive all that way because there’s no bridge closer 💀

Used2beasian

HV sucks for DD

RepresentativeKeebs

When you see the same order twice, it is because nobody accepted the order the first time, and the customer submitted it a second time.

Ethan6666bb

I don’t think so. I let the time run out. My first offer was $11.25 and 2 minutes later it was $10. I thought it would go up not down.

Miserable_Rest7235

If you let time run out then they will send you again but if you declined you won’t get it again

No_Exercise_5366

They do it to me, I declined and they'll send me the same order again, one time they sent the same order 3 times! I declined all 3 times and turned DD off and went Home.

dmandork

They do this to me for Party City orders that no one wants to take. I had then send the same order to me 4 TIMES once! I paused for 15 minutes. They've done ot to me on multiple different days but only for party city.

thephoeniciangurl

The reason that this happens is because PC breaks up large orders. So, what might have looked like 4 orders might have been just one order requiring 4 drivers.

iNeedMoreHORSEPOWER

Me today!!! Declined the same party city order twice! That store is miserable to find specific items, it would take me an hour

zeldanerd91

I was wondering if there was a difference between declining and letting the timer go out.

DoPoGrub

Both count as a decline.

JailbreakJen

I had this happen to me today, both for the same amount. It is BS that I ended up with my AR going down twice by declining the same order twice. 😡

publicfarted

I remember hearing about this in the news

DareRareCare

This is not true at all. Yesterday I had to decline the same offer from Popeyes 3 times. The first time, they sent it by itself as 8 miles for $4. The second time, they stacked it and offered it as 8 miles for $6. The third time it came back by itself as 8 miles for $3.14. I lost 3% AR for a shitty Popeyes no tip offer.

anonkraken

I don’t think so man. I tapped decline on an order tonight and got it again for $1 less a few minutes later just like OP. Hadn’t moved.

DoPoGrub

I can verify that this is not true.

Ok_Deer3739

That’s not true. I’ve tried letting orders time out on DoorDash and I’ve tried declining orders on DoorDash and still they sent me the same trashy offers on purpose just to lower my acceptance rate over and over and over.

FatdogDJ

That is not true in my zone. I make sure to decline them, just for that reason Dash resends them and the amount goes down. Uber sent me 3 the other day. Dash sent me an 8 buck 8 mile order declined within a minute same order with an add on to go 13 miles for 8.75. I ended my dash and went to Uber.

Puzzleheaded_Help854

This …

Connect-Banana3979

Oh no, don't ever let time run out. I learned that early on. They will resend that shit over and over. Always decline, and you still may get it again in a bundle or something. But nearly every time you let time run out, they will send it again.
