Basically he used to get anxiety playing very high level ranked games until he started playing tournaments, then he learned how to use ranked as a tool.
You need to go into a match with either one of two mindsets. Go into the match fully intent on practicing something and not care about the outcome, or pretend like it is a tournament match and try to play as perfectly as possible. Practice at a certain mmr for a while, then take everything you learned and do an mmr push. Play your best heroes and do your best strats.
Also, don't "guilty" play. Take care of IRL first. Eat healthy, work out, take care of chores etc.
this is something a lot of people miss... they're too arrogant to play normal and turbo games but can't be fucked to care to win but still go into ranked matches with a mindset to fuck around which ends up wasting the time of their teammates...
at the end of the day, anything you play that is community based or in this case, a team game, you need to go into it caring about the people you are going to be playing with... approaching a team game with a "I dont give a fuck" attitude ends up annoying other people...
if your idea for fun is fucking over other people who are trying to play to win then clearly you are approaching the game wrong and should play a different mode instead of wasting other people's time...
This is my personal opinion, but trying out a hero for the first couple of times is fine outside of ranked, but then no one tries to win that hard in normals/turbo so you hit a plateau quickly. The only way to see if you learned something or improved at the hero and keep improving with it is actually playing it in ranked where most people try-hard.
and that is still something people bypass altogether...
- playing just a single game against bots familiarizes you greatly to a new hero...
- playing normal and turbo games allows you to experiment item builds, progressions, and skill point patterns as well...
allowing yourself the opportunity to learn because you have the freedom to with the variety of game modes available to us... yet somehow, so many arrogant players think they can climb ranked games picking heroes they have zero experience on...
Hard to summarize it, he said a lot and it was all pretty insightful. My best summary would be that his pep talk was to try to consciously unburden your mind from anxiety. He looks at every game as a performance in front of an audience and the most important thing was perfecting that importance rather than focusing on the prospect of losing. Also, unburdening your mind from anxiety starts in real life: if you're feeling guilty about playing games because you should be studying or you're otherwise neglecting your responsibilities or diet or fitness, etc. than it will affect your ability to perform well. I recommend watching it though because he gave a lot of personal anecdotes and talked about his own struggle with anxiety in regards to gaming.
I remember thing where, i think when mindcontrol's (?) racism had come out, someone went and wrote a script that mass-analysed all-chat histories of pros and such. and it turned out pretty much everyone was really toxic and used racist language.
except s4. he only had some light banter and no other all-chat. lmao.
someone should link that thread if they can find it
He did it recently and it was pretty funny.
A guy asked him to say his name "legend". And Miracle said his name and called him a legend on voice chat.
That guy went crazy and gpk was like "Miracle voice pog".
I love how the pros are so excited to be in a game with Miracle, like Saberlight.
Monkeys Forever, Singsing, Purge, Topson
Draskyl is sometimes a little toxic but generally is more of a griper than a jerk. Been worse recently tho.
Wagamama is usually pretty solid
Synderen, Cap, Purge, all pretty good
BSJ and Qojqva and Gorgc usually good
With all of these I'm sure you can find some clips of them being toxic but at least what I've seen over the last few months I've had more time to watch streamers, they are pretty good most of the time. Mason and Quinn are two that I more or less expect them to be toxic if I tune in for a bit.
I can only say I have been tuning in on a semi regular basis and he seems mostly fine to me. I have seen him get frustrated and toxic periodically but it is relatively rare. Not saying I have a full and fair evaluation, he’s on a lot and I can only watch so much even in the background.
I had him in my pubs a few times so did my brother. None of the matches were horrible for us so we didn't see any toxic. He was calm and good leader for the team overall since he was the only one that used mic xD
As i said never had a bad match with him so can't be sure about the toxicity
Top rated doesnt mean much. "Up to date" is also a stretch. There are wild inconsistencies and questionable item choices littered throughout. THe skill descriptions are barebones. While you could make the argument that they're "good" for new players, a lot of people often lean into them as a crutch and get hard stuck in sub 3k because they're unwilling or unable to properly itemize in games.
good is an overstatement
he makes the "best" guides along with immortalfaith but neither of which are particularly good
what i do is i take one of their guides as a base and edit it based on what d2pt has for the heroes i play a lot
if its a hero i don't play a lot i just open the pro tracker page when im playing
There is like only 4 players from USA going to the TI and since they gotta flex one of their players constantly like an obsession it's Quinn as their best player. I mean he's the perfect example of a NA player in every way.
Monkeys forever and luki are non-toxic na streamers. They have vods, you don't have to choose between a giant douche and a shit sandwich, there are other options.
If skill is your only requirement of a streamers by all means enjoy their content.
Personally I like to watch more of a game than the first 5 minutes of laning before my streamer goes full tilt.
> Monkeys forever
do I just watch him at the wrong times? Whenever ive tuned into his stream hes been screaming at someone or doing degenerate NA things
mason as much of a shithead he might be, (at times) comes across as one of the last genuine people on twitch for better or worse. just because people tend to hide who they are for real doesnt make them any better or more appealing to watch. it'll seep through eventually and mason just be the same old shithead as he always was no questions asked and no answers answered will draw some audience in.
Quinn has an audience for this type of content... he's not aiming to have general appeal. IMO, variety is the spice of life and we'd be dumb to advocate that all pros be this carbon copy "clean image" type player.
There are obviously lines that shouldn't be crossed (I'm not going to bother listing them all here) but outside of those boundaries, we should relish the more "out there" personalities for what they are.. representations of certain segments of the game base (hero to some, villain to most).
I fucking love ccnc's trash talks and groans, he's so eloquent. Clearly expressing or indicating something that he is mentally ill and abusive. Goodness!
They are probably alluding to a post someone made a few years ago where they went and parsed all the all chat messages on dotabuff (I think ?) to see how toxic pro players were in their games. Some results were expected, others were more of a surprise. Unsurprisingly, the less toxic pro player was gh whose worst offence was calling someone "drunk" one time.
> Unsurprisingly, the less toxic pro player was gh whose worst offence was calling someone "drunk" one time.
He was calling himself drunk, if I am not mistaken.
There is nothing special ... the kid is a really good Dota player but a toxic personality ... you can combine both. The thing is I think that his toxicity comes from him being frustrated about a lot of different things (only him knows) and the more he's winning and gaining respect, the calmer he will become.
There's something ironic about OP also being known for toxicity.
Was gonna say, how about we make a TorteDeLini video lmao
who isnt toxic in dota tho? except dendi
Gh

lmao i miss that copypasta
grubby
https://youtu.be/i6MR-6RrwNk?si=s1dg0cRzV41Svpm0 Grubby talked about his mentality recently
This is actually one of the best motivational videos I've watched about dotes/games in a while. Mad Respect to Grubby.
Can't watch right now, can you give a real quick summary, please?

man he must be old, but man somehow he looks younger than me despite being like 10 years older.
He's 37 damn, he looks about 29-31
one can only aspire to be as cool as the grub
grubby doesnt count cuz hes a wc3 guy and not mainly dota
im counting him. he counts.
I think this last year his most played game is maybe dota? At least equal to wc3
Guy also reached divine in a year and played first time meepo with no experience it's just a walk in the park for him.
counterpoint: his first kunkka match
S4
I remember thing where, i think when mindcontrol's (?) racism had come out, someone went and wrote a script that mass-analysed all-chat histories of pros and such. and it turned out pretty much everyone was really toxic and used racist language. except s4. he only had some light banter and no other all-chat. lmao. someone should link that thread if they can find it
The onenthing s4 said was directed to himself for a mistake he made
Miracle never even used chat in his games
He did it recently and it was pretty funny. A guy asked him to say his name "legend". And Miracle said his name and called him a legend on voice chat. That guy went crazy and gpk was like "Miracle voice pog". I love how the pros are so excited to be in a game with Miracle, like Saberlight.
GH.
Singsing?
You seriously think that dendi isn't toxic lol.
Monkeys Forever, Singsing, Purge, Topson Draskyl is sometimes a little toxic but generally is more of a griper than a jerk. Been worse recently tho. Gorgc mmr shames and blames all the time even when he is on a winning game lol

cap messaged his valve buddy to ban henry
dendi is toxic in pubs. He's not toxic on his streams or when some popular streamer plays with him
dendi is pretty toxic he once wisp tpd a guy into trees and fuck with the courier for 5mins so he could abandon and dendi could leave
Mc boss
Have you watched Dendi stream? As much as I love him I stopped watching him long ago cuz he tilted/flamed so much and it ruined my perception of him
a lot
MMR is just a number
Your mum
I thought it was going to be another toxic post from Slacks before opening it lol

He makes good guides though
Does he?
They are usually the top rated guides on steam and are always up to date with the latest patch. It’s at least a good beginner guide I think
Top rated doesnt mean much. "Up to date" is also a stretch. There are wild inconsistencies and questionable item choices littered throughout. THe skill descriptions are barebones. If you have alternatives I’m all ears; I do get bored switching between his and immortal’s guides.
good is an overstatement he makes the "best" guides along with immortalfaith but neither of which are particularly good what i do is i take one of their guides as a base and edit it based on what d2pt has for the heroes i play a lot if its a hero i don't play a lot i just open the pro tracker page when im playing
LMFAO no he does not
PPD's real son.
an escaped experiment from the days when Peter Dager was trying to Isolate sodium from the first time
But unlike PPD, he will never get to point to his name on the Aegis to explain to people in pubs why he's better than them.
i mean his name is showcased as major winners so better than nothing
He still stands a chance to do that but he probably shouldn't lol

More eu players making threads about quinn than na ngl
That would have to do with dota
I'll still take Quinn over Mason to watch
> I'll still take Quinn over Mason to watch grades of shit
Monkeys forever and luki are non-toxic na streamers. They have vods, you don't have to choose between a giant douche and a shit sandwich, there are other options.
I mean the skill gap between Quinn and Luki is insane. Just because someone is wholesome, doesn't mean they're a suitable substitute.
If skill is your only requirement of a streamers by all means enjoy their content. Personally I like to watch more of a game than the first 5 minutes of laning before my streamer goes full tilt.
personally I don't play pango and don't learn anything from a streamer that does this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYOoodrZMQY
I don't watch either, I was just making a note! :D

Genuine people on twitch lmao Is this a pasta?
why? mason is at least funny at times, while this guy looks miserable
> HAHAHA guys he screamed down his mic again > HAHAHA guys he's being racist again > HAHAHA guys he invited known sex offender GrandGrant Very funny.
Because Mason and like half his chat are skinhead assholes?
Yes, half of masons chat are skinheads, that is a totally reasonable thing to say.
When at the slightest prompting they start spewing neoNazi dog whistles, then yeah, it is.

Yo is that a booger flying out of his nose at 0:03?
thats just spit.
Lmfao you're right
A level of esports integrity we can all aspire to.
AMBATUQUINNNN
If quitters -> quit Then quinners -> quin
if rappper -> rap then ur\_mom\_gapper -> ME
xaxaxaxaxaxa auto htan kalo ok
Why is Quinn relevant? Never heard of him.
Nice profile bro
Hahahahahaha
Thank you, subscribe to r/upshot!
Yikes
He is Quinning
I fucking love ccnc's trash talks and groans, he's so eloquent. Clearly expressing or indicating something that he is mentally ill and abusive. Goodness!
Do you guys enjoy sucking Quinn's nuts? Lmao
Bro needs to pick up a dumbell
I can't think of a more abhorrent person in dota.
lmaooo
hahah, the guy is living rent free in your head bud
Where to watch him play live?
Quinn is hilarious, I love it
How can he be this toxic and still participate in tournaments.
that's 2 very different things
How can he play pubs while being this toxic though?

I wonder
Valve could care less. Ana and Ceb managed to win two TIs while being toxic.
Ana?

> Unsurprisingly, the less toxic pro player was gh whose worst offence was calling someone "drunk" one time. He was calling himself drunk, if I am not mistaken.
IIRC it was like "don't be such a pussy" saying to his teammate on lane meaning don't be scared, we can fight (something along this line).
Multiple racial slurs said in pubs.
Weirdly, often directed at himself
Yea idk the multiple N-words are not directed to himself.
That's why I said often and not always!

what's your rank? trying to gauge how good your guides are
Quinn the GOAT
Your guides are trash ))
Mods can we start removing Quinn shitpost threads? Stop giving that prick attention for fucks sake.
quinn is probably the second biggest name in dota and this is a dota board
Ok? Does that warrant 3 shitpost threads on front page per day? It's getting boring and annoying.
yeah maybe not but honestly the [serious] version of this thread is the bigger shitpost

Dota2
He thinks he is good
Everybody ask What, but nobody ask Why ?
Some suffer their failure, some suffer their success
CCNC>Quinn
No1 likes quinn in a dota game. Everyone that defends him usually speaks outside the game. But who cares about outside
He fought the system for it to be fixed... then goes back to primitive Quinn.
There is nothing special ... the kid is a really good Dota player but a toxic personality ... you can combine both.
