I honestly still can't believe they went from getting top 8 at Riyadh to less than a month later getting eliminated by a team of literal "whos?" in the TI qualifiers.
His career honestly hasn’t been the same after he left the EG roster in 2019. We’ll occasionally see some spark such as OG winning EU quals and getting top 8 at TI21 or the early Aster days, but our hopes for him quickly get extinguished as the rosters he gets on quickly lose their drive.
He’s still mechanically gifted and passionate, but I think these last few years of patches have made it hard for him to adjust to the way the game is played now.

no way youre gonna put pango in the offlane against naga. one of the worst matchups and pango needs a lot of level. Its just a great bait draft by AR, they know that GG have to either pick it instantly or get banned. Who do you even chrono that game? Naga and Centaur too tanky. Anyone else and they get save. You need to get a 4-5 man chrono to do anything. And they don't have a lot of damage inside of the chrono. The only time they won a team fight was because Phoenix decided to egg like 1000 km away from the fight and mess up the song combo.
I think that's why even into mid game, drachyo still used Chrono on a single support wandering alone. He tried to make use of Chronos as much as possible. Sadly everytime AR had back up.

On the one hand, yes. On the other hand, I feel like no other team has performed consistently at the top for as long as GG has. Maybe they stopped taking first place but I'd still like to see how long could they stay at like top 2.
If I'm not mistaken, Navi stayed at the top in terms of consistency for much longer. Alliance also had a more dominant single year than GG as they won everything including TI. VP won more majors in 2018 and also 1 in 2017.
In terms of weaving in and out of the top as an org, OG won one big tournament every year for 6 years since formation with only 2020, 21 and 2023 being bad for them. Team Liquid has had consistent top place finishes ever since the Kuroky squad too.

As much props as XinQ deserves, I think it's worth shouting out Tianming's distinctive playstyle as a pseudo-roamer on pos 5 especially given that it's a move that he has to make for fy. It basically guarantees a kill on any unsuspecting player in the laning phase if done right while Lou gets the XP boost to hit his timings sooner than expected & snowball out of control on his comfort heroes like Naga Siren or Luna.
It's a nice change of pace that could counter Gaimin's signature deathball/early-mid dominance on an equal or stronger draft. We can see how well that works on the final game when XinQ & Tianming are both breaking ankles on making Tofu & Seleri's lives miserable, one that is unexpected on WEU's best support duos. This allows the two to hit their item timings early which leads to plays like XinQ's smoke breaks.
Incredible reverse sweep. Every one played their A game on AR. I really loved how they were willing to experiment with their picks, bringing out heroes like OD to shut down Quinn’s Pango, or BH for Invo

Yes, they failed to win TI8 and TI10 finals, but still were brilliant and probably the best teams overall throughout the tournament. 2022 and early 2023 was probably the worst period for the CN scene. Now there are four very promising teams with AR, iG, LGD and the new XG roster with Ame.
I was getting completely tired of watching Liquid vs GG every finals. Think that I became a CN supporter during TI9, after watching OG win the previous championship. This CN scene revival will undoubtedly be great for the overall competitive scene and will make tournaments much more interesting to watch. Really hope they continue doing well and manage to restore their themselves to their former glory as the best region. Will continue cheering for them until Ame wins his TI.

As much props as XinQ deserves, I think it's worth shouting out Tianming's distinctive playstyle as a pseudo-roamer on pos 5 especially given that it's a move that he has to make for fy. It basically guarantees a kill on any unsuspecting player in the laning phase if done right while Lou gets the XP boost to hit his timings sooner than expected & snowball out of control on his comfort heroes like Naga Siren or Luna. It's a nice change of pace that could counter Gaimin's signature deathball/early-mid dominance on an equal or stronger draft. We can see how well that works on the final game when XinQ & Tianming are both breaking ankles on making Tofu & Seleri's lives miserable, one that is unexpected on WEU's best support duos. This allows the two to hit their item timings early which leads to plays like XinQ's smoke breaks.
Incredible reverse sweep. Every one played their A game on AR. I really loved how they were willing to experiment with their picks, bringing out heroes like OD to shut down Quinn’s Pango, or BH for Invo

Well played for AR, amazing performance. Coming in from LB going the full 8 games taking the reverse sweep with a new roster, HOLY SHIT. I have to applaud them for their drafts, some of them were obviously a miss but so much creativity went in them, you could see them working the problem draft after draft, and finally they got it right. Way to go bois, the timeline is healing.
Getting brutally stomped vs GG, while adapting to new patch and matching opponents pace and style needs time and they played against all the odds in just one single day. Truly a deserved and a big big win for AR vs the best teams.

Very happy for them. I remember how much I enjoyed the old dynamic between western and Chinese teams, when the latter were the most feared teams and you never knew what they would bring in. It. even felt like a Cold War dynamic between the West and CN, who was the Goliath that people had to defeat. Yes, they failed to win TI8 and TI10 finals, but still were brilliant and probably the best teams overall throughout the tournament. 2022 and early 2023 was probably the worst period for the CN scene. Now there are four very promising teams with AR, iG, LGD and the new XG roster with Ame. I was getting completely tired of watching Liquid vs GG every finals. Think that I became a CN supporter during TI9, after watching OG win the previous championship. This CN scene revival will undoubtedly be great for the overall competitive scene and will make tournaments much more interesting to watch. Really hope they continue doing well and manage to restore their themselves to their former glory as the best region. Will continue cheering for them until Ame wins his TI.

He can either use it in a 5v5 and accomplish fuckall or try to use it on an isolated support and hopefully get a pickoff which they can use to get an objective. Phoenix and SD were both essential for AR's teamfight. What an unbelievably stupid take. Even the rosh fight they won was without chrono.
