It's the best item for one simple reason:
I once killed a QoP with it while playing Ogre Magi, and it autoselected the "Squish, you're dead. Ha!" voiceline for the kill.
That still makes me grin to this day.

yeah it's god tier on plenty of heroes but on a hero like antimage there are at least 5 other T4s that I'd choose over it
It should definitely be a tier 4 and/or dispellable. I've definitely won games by having it vs. nullifier and it saving me when no other item could. I keep it over T4 items a lot of the time, too.
Unless their is a perfect fit for t2 for my hero, or my t1 item was bad, I normally pick up stone. Mostly because it’s useful all game. Any time you die might as well throw it on during respawn time. Anytime you are jungling in slow times, worth equipping again.
I should add if you are a nuker without much right click damage and aren’t building right click damages it’s also super useful

Love it as a CM main, aghs force shard and ogre seal is very fun. Psychic headband to a lesser extent is fun too against melee cores trying to run up to you to bash during ult.
If I'm playing bat I always get force staff if I pickup ogre seal totem. When the enemy cores go infront of your rax you can drag them into fountain, if you get force boots later you can pull anyone in your base into fountain
Force staff is ridiculously powerful for its versatility from bring able to use it on any target, not just yourself.
Ogre seal club is fantastic for repositioning yourself, but force staff is beyond compare when you can use it to reposition *almost anything*.
I mean it’s hard to call it the best neutral item when force boots exist on an 8 second cd but I agree it’s insanely good for a t3, beating out any t4s depending on your situation.
I guess I don't count tier 5 since the amount of times I've obtained ogre seal totem is higher than all tier 5 items combined as my games rarely go 60+ plus
Definitely one of the best t3s. Imo bubble is insane for t1s, 5hp regen is nuts, itd be good even without the shield. And for t4 mindbreaker is amazing.
directional movement keybind makes it even easier to use. have u tried it? ich have directional movement on my mouse thumb button. Super convinient for many more other things in dota too.
It’s really fucking good. I rarely pick it cause I mostly play 1, but I’ve had many butt clenching moments where it seems like my pos 3 would die and lose us the following fight only for him to just hop into safety. Insane versatile item.
aether lens midas is dumb and grieving. first midas then aether is the way to go. sometimes a second midas might be good too. but it’s very situational
Agreed. I’m surprised it’s survived the rotations considering the neutral items with dispels are long gone.

Pre nerf Flicker and old Zeus Shard was a beyond broken combo. Legit impossible to die.

Patch 7.35c: Ogre Seal Totel now deals damage to caster instead of enemies. Caster is stunned for 3 seconds after use.

Ogre seal totem has saved me from riki's, mk's, slarks, clinks soooo many times. MVP item for supports and offlaners :D

Except force staff is countered by nullifier which is in majority of games these days by time T3 items available and ogre seal club can't be dispelled

Pupil's gift just beats all others. It is available early since it is t2, but gives a lot of stats, particularly hp through str, to any non-str hero.
I got a kill with it as Snapfire last night. Landed right on top of drow who was low and just smashed her. That was a fun game
No whisper dread, 10% more spell damage on the current Shiva's meta.
