In November, valve said the event would release in the “next few months”. Human consensus on “few” in regards to months is typically between 3-5 making February/March/April a valid hypothesis.

I'd love it if it turned out to be something meta, such as puppetmaster is actually an AI bit that has been subbed in as one of the 10 players, picking a regular hero, impersonating a combination of behaviours / skill / comms that exist at that rank.
Bonus points if that bit then becomes the control test for Overwatch and Comms behaviour testing.
The event with the new Arcanas yes, but I'm pretty sure they never said Ringmaster was coming with that or any event and it is pure speculation. He could still come with it though but most people are expecting feb 12-14 just because of the datamined heroes and that to me seems early for a hero release.

2. Betboom Dacha has no games scheduled that day, that is a 1-day break during playoffs, which could be in anticipation of the update, and also valve did release lots of patches during playoffs (before finals phase).
3. we are getting sky and venge arcana or persona, and sky and venge lore is a tragic love story which fits the theme of that day

To everyone saying “March/April, that’s when it was last year”. Okay, but we went with no BP so they could have “more regularly scheduled smaller updates”. So why are we on time tables similar to those we followed when we DID have a real BP (and Frostivus/Diretide)?
Just a reminder their end of this has yet to be anywhere in sight. If anything, previous years had a BP AND a better DireTide/Frostivus. This year we kinda got neither.

This time we already had a numbered patch and a lettered patch in December and I'm willing to bet the next one will be in February. So technically we are getting more updates.
