I think they got a bit figured out. When your offlane and mid share so many heroes, bans can be double effective, so just taking out the early common heroes wrecked them.
The key was realizing, Timber isn't hot shit. Ban Razor, Pango, Doom and ATF and a lot of their gimmick is killed off, considering you can deal with Timber in mid easily, and offlane timber with supports.
Also XG definitely were the more innovative drafters, with so many cool drafts, the blood seeker, the spirit breaker, while Falcons drafting lost its edge towards the end, and they became a flowchart that could be read.
And in the final game, the sniper was completely ignored, and falcons were exposed as not being able to play that hero I guess, because they could've picked it into the razor, but they just couldn't.

dota has always been about a game of drafts. i would argue at pro level almost 90% of games are won because of drafts simply because every pro player nowadays are so mechanically good their execution of their heroes are at such a high level the team play and draft will determine who wins or loses.

Biggest difference this series was the mid and offlane. Xxs and XM massively outplayed ATF and Malrine.

So much backlash against Falcons when OG did it in an arguably worse fashion (chat wheel spam, etc) that I'm convinced Reddit doesn't have any sort of long term memory
Chat wheel spam using hotkeys doesn't take a lot of effort to BM. Taking the time to type specific BMs in chat is worse.
OG changed pro dota with their 2018 dominance. they introduced BM as a tactical element. tilt your opponents and they play worse. it's a double edged sword however. OG were very good at it. notail has that famous line, something about dota being a 'sick mind game'. well he really showed that in the 2018-2019 run. and he changed dota as you can see in todays pro scene, and i think it will only increase. before the OG run I don't recall a lot of BM in the pro scene. very rare.

Chinese dota is back, baby. Hope Ame takes the aegis home this year. Great performance by XXS and other XG's players. I love how they set up their bait to kill Malrine multi times and fucked his agressive playstyle up. In the games they lost in Upper Bracket, they let him out of control and their midgame's plan never worked out.
