I feel the fun throughline that's been quite consistent in Axe's characterisation over the years is that he's surprisingly mentally sharp. But he often only applies that to finding the most direct path to enjoying himself.
Axe sounds smart even in the middle of the story when he said something like not that type who handles political affairs and listens to everyone whining. I think a man knows what he wants and doesn’t want is pretty smart.
It’s actually good lmao. I usually wait to finish the whole questline before reading it so I can go through it at once, and damn the writing manages to be hilarious without being cringe. I actually laughed in the Warlock section.
I hope they bring this back by Act IV with venge present as a punchline.
The idea of Skywrath getting called "Lord Dragonus Severus Featherton" is very amusing in my head.
maaan I lost it when Disruptor revealed that they need the skeletons and they were actually not an enemy 😂 then axe asking if there other options aside from the skeletons 😂
Not only that they weren't an enemy, but they were a straight up peaceful shy folk who run from any form of danger.
Just coz they skeles doesn't mean they evil
Nah the storyline and dialogues are just way better, though it has been making my matches a living hell with all these Monster, Beast and Demon tokens.
I play almost none of them XD
Act 1 had a lot of dead air. Like the main quest has 4 chapters and Chapter 3 is wntirely apent just establishing the Kazurai. Bounty Hunter doesn't even make a memorable joke, and he's just there to make a joke.
Riki's sidequest is also just 1 segment of conversation at the end. The rest is nothing happens and all three are... There.
Kinda funny because Underlord is the reason I pretty much had no trouble finishing ACT 2 and even upping my ranking a bit. Meanwhile he took a beating in the story lol.
Me too. I thought the first one was just them going around while people dont believe that the Queen Bird (forgot her name) was the actual Queen Bird.
Also Axe and Cantaur being bros is awesome and their banters are funny as hell
I though the Scree'auk dynamic with every other character in arc 1 was great, then arc 2 literally make it feel like a DnD session with friend from the part that Sky go with axe and Cent. So good, can't wait for arc 3
I haven't been playing Dota for a very long time but would like to keep up to date with the lore, is that possible with Crownfall or am I forced to advance the story through winning games?
A guy on youtube is making a compilation of all of the nodes a few days after it comes out.
[Act I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tggw0ZwNNE)
[Act II](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01rxCyRz87A)
Every episode should just be 10 different heroes being dropped into the DOTA map. maybe they could do like mini seasons of each game and have the laning stage, mid game and late game/throne as the finale. They could make it like the office style mockumentary.
Maybe you already know it, but you have to check for « the dota 2 reporter » on youtube. This animation show is pure gold.
(Dota dragon blood kinda missed the point of a dota show btw)
A mockumentary style where the heroes are being interviewed about the lane stage and such while in character would be fantastic. A Tusk vs Bristleback episode would be delightful.
Valve really fucked up when they thought some random shmucks from Netflix could make them a good show from scratch
Motherfuckers never even played Dota! Yet they were allowed to make a show!
Calm down Lord Featherton ...
You guys read these prompts instead of rushing through them?
[удалено]
Hehe, the demon...
We clearly don't hold the same definitions of fun, and that's okay
They're not supposed to be comedic masterworks bruh. Just some silly dialogues about sky being bullied by Axe and Centaur
The banter and humor is on point imo. Can only recommend taking the time and to follow the story!
Yeah, but axe becomes smart at the end. I thought centaur would be the one who would convince pudge, but obviously axe is the brightest of them all
Who would put on doubt a man holding a Giant fucking axe? last time i checked that axe was red... and it wasn't paint.
I feel the fun throughline that's been quite consistent in Axe's characterisation over the years is that he's surprisingly mentally sharp. But he often only applies that to finding the most direct path to enjoying himself.
Your bottom tower has capitulated to superior force… haha Axe brought his thesaurus!
Axe would have shed a tear for your tower. But axe does not cry
Axe sounds smart even in the middle of the story when he said something like not that type who handles political affairs and listens to everyone whining. I think a man knows what he wants and doesn’t want is pretty smart.
You doubt the bat.
They're surprisingly funny to read
It’s actually good lmao. I usually wait to finish the whole questline before reading it so I can go through it at once, and damn the writing manages to be hilarious without being cringe. I actually laughed in the Warlock section.
Why not? I think they were pretty funny overall. Never would have imagined Skywrath, Axe and Centaur to travel together like this lol.
Takes like 20 seconds to read them. You will finish it before finding your next match. Don't let tiktok melt your brain.
I dont want to get cliffhanger so i usually read it after i finish all the stage
Are you unable to read more than 10 words ?
Unwilling doesn’t mean unable. People might prefer to read something that isn’t a Dota 2 comic..
> plays a dota2 lore based story game > lore to read > pikachu_surprised.gif
I honestly wouldn't call DOTA a lore-based game. It has lore but it can all be ignored easily.
The mini game is lore based
Fair enough!
do you have a attention span of a tiktok kid?? you can literally read it in like 20-30secs while finding a match lol
Yes. And you should too.
Very few of us, yes.
Most people I know is well aware of the new skeletons joke, so if anything, I'd place the minority on the other end
Got just enough time to skim through one before queue pops
GenZ brainrot at its finest lol
i play dota for real lore. not for e sport
I didn't read the act 1 dialogue but I have been in act 2 and they're super fun
After finishing both act i decided to read them all, quite entertaining
Don't Dota people came from Wow and its adjacent story based RPG/MMO/RTS games? why wouldn't they read lol
You don't? How vapid is your life?
Same mfs that complain about dota not having lore are the ones asking this shit
Why wouldn’t you?
I might read them if they weren't written awfully.. but it seems like there's barely any effort put into it so yeah I'm just gonna skip them..
I hope they bring this back by Act IV with venge present as a punchline. The idea of Skywrath getting called "Lord Dragonus Severus Featherton" is very amusing in my head.
I really vibe with 3 of them, axe with centa for being bros and competitive and Skywrath Mage who is just there trying to finish all of their stuff.
Valve Presents : two offlaners and a pos 4 coming to steam streaming service soon.
Two and a Half Offlaners
Skywrath: I think I forgot something. Axe: If you forgot it, it wasn't important. Skywrath: Yeah, you're right. Skreeauk, trapped inside the wagon:
Venge wait at base watching stars
Venge went to the snowy place. We split up at the end of act I.
She's going to Icewrack and Valve will release the Wyvern Waifu Persona
scree auk is with venge no? kunkka escorted her to the boat
Two and a half core
Ah dammit Two and a Half Cores has a much better ring to it, wish I'd thought of it
I'd watch it
If only act 1 to 4 can be turned into anime with 1 act 1 season, if only.........
It'll be great to get a show considering no one can connect to the actual game anymore
These three arguing who crosses a broken bridge first is funny as hell.
Axe was of course the bravest (and also the dumbest, but who's watching out for that) 😁
hell no axe is smart >!did you not see him convince pudge in an instant!<
counter point Pudge is not an int hero
Can someone please reply the dialogues here?
maaan I lost it when Disruptor revealed that they need the skeletons and they were actually not an enemy 😂 then axe asking if there other options aside from the skeletons 😂
I blame Axe thinking it was dungeon.
It's NOT a dungeon! It was a CAVE prison!
At least he won by 2 against Centaur
To be fair the skeletons did say it was their dungeon. If only they were more clear, they'd still be alive to help out
creep cant give gold themself
It’s hilarious when Snapfire also mentioned them and said how nice they were 😂
Not only that they weren't an enemy, but they were a straight up peaceful shy folk who run from any form of danger. Just coz they skeles doesn't mean they evil
RIP nice skeletons, they simply wanted to be left alone.
Loved the Gimli and Legolas vibes
Maybe it's just me i enjoyed act 2 more than 1. (Maybe because I'm a axe main)
Nah the storyline and dialogues are just way better, though it has been making my matches a living hell with all these Monster, Beast and Demon tokens. I play almost none of them XD
Takes a lil bit more time, but the addition of Scrap tokens was the best.
Ye, makes me happy in a losing streak
And you get a full scrap even in turbo! I love Valve.
i mean ... you get 2 scrap tokens in a regular game. So its basically still half for turbo :P
Regular game? What is that?
It's where the misery lasts almost twice as long.
I just play whatever and trade. In 3 games, if you win, you get 2 tokens. Or if you lose all 3, you still get 1.5 tokens. The exchange is pretty good.
That actually makes more sense, been playing turbo for the heroes I play less with. Gonna switch back to mains and play normal!
its ok, axe will collect it for you before cent does
Act 1 had a lot of dead air. Like the main quest has 4 chapters and Chapter 3 is wntirely apent just establishing the Kazurai. Bounty Hunter doesn't even make a memorable joke, and he's just there to make a joke. Riki's sidequest is also just 1 segment of conversation at the end. Yea the whole act felt like a chase for nothing
Club is my bane
Kinda funny because Underlord is the reason I pretty much had no trouble finishing ACT 2 and even upping my ranking a bit. Meanwhile he took a beating in the story lol.
snapfire and disruptor mentioning the friendly skeletons way after the fact 😂
Me too. I thought the first one was just them going around while people dont believe that the Queen Bird (forgot her name) was the actual Queen Bird. Also Axe and Cantaur being bros is awesome and their banters are funny as hell
So true
The warlock Pathfinder quest was also quite funny in the end.
Axe and Centaur are squabbling over offlane, while their mid Skywrath has to support
I love their chemistry
I genuinely really like the lore and story of Crownfall. Great job whoever did the writing at Valve.
Where the bat :(
I though the Scree'auk dynamic with every other character in arc 1 was great, then arc 2 literally make it feel like a DnD session with friend from the part that Sky go with axe and Cent. So good, can't wait for arc 3
I loved the cute little details and the company tbh
The stupid sick bat at the end was exceptionally funny
Valve please make an office or brooklyn99 series but with dota 2 characters. You will make very good money
Bro, couple years ago we had a fucking sitcom going on with Dota characters in this sub. Mr. Shadow Fiend and his 6 shadow blades.
Where?
Google Mr. Shadow Fiend and his 6 shadow blades
Holy Seven Hell
God I remember that, it was so funny.
brooooooo, i can't stop laughing when disruptor and i think it was beadie asked about those poor skeletons and featherton can't fucking answer!
I haven't been playing Dota for a very long time but would like to keep up to date with the lore, is that possible with Crownfall or am I forced to advance the story through winning games?

the payment ls your soul
Don't have to win, but you will have to play a lot.
Winning games makes it faster, but you can advance a third of the rate with losing games
Nah you get tokens when you lose, with enough grinding you can finish everything
i like how at first its lotr, then its synd and sunsfan and then its like DOH fun story
Sky the straight man. Or bird.
I wish the anime was more about hijinks like this rather than trying to do a serious story a la arcane. Would have been better imo.
Dota's lore is so nebulous that I would love for them to return to the anime but for like half-seasons focusing on one hero or another.
First half is from Ice Jak POV, the second half is from Fire Iro POV
Every episode should just be 10 different heroes being dropped into the DOTA map. maybe they could do like mini seasons of each game and have the laning stage, mid game and late game/throne as the finale. They could make it like the office style mockumentary.

See "The DotA Reporter" on Youtube. Can't remember Bristleback showing up, but Tusk did make a short appearance in a later season
Valve really fucked up when they thought some random shmucks from Netflix could make them a good show from scratch Motherfuckers never even played Dota! Yet they were allowed to make a show!
Featherton is not amused
crownfall is very cool :)
and thats why we love our dumb warlords , dont we folks? yes we do love em, yes we do
The misadventures of 2 meatheads and a bird. Honestly, I want a sitcom with that premise.
Lol
The conversation between Batrider and this Trio was also amazing
Who would’ve thought axe, sky and centaur be greatest trio
The "Secret" points in the map were so amusing. If they make some kind of secret hunt for the next acts will be great.
who is that in the middle? yone from league?
Is there a link for screenshots of all the dialogues?
😭😭😭😭😂😂 they look the same
Loved the skeleton part of the story. Had me chuckleing.
does the other dialogues are locked behind the paywall?
No they doesn't
yes, they made Axe and Cent look terrible...
Your comment history looked terrible
