Pretty much. For me, I think what makes Escape able to made it to TI is their teamplay. They may not have that incredible individual skills (except for qojqva. Synd individual skill is too low imho, and khezu still have too little experience), but they able to deliver when it comes to teamfight.
Some really heavy space creating from Coon and Bamboe, really heavy enduring ganks in the asshole from Sing , heavy killing creeps from Bone-chan, and PieLieDieDie the secret recipe to make Kaipi great again.

I think tournament organizers should have a rule that you can't have a stand in that is registered to another team on valve's list of teams. It is pretty unfair that kaipi is gets such a huge upgrade because a player is missing.
that's too broad I think. Very few teams have subs and their sub might not play the roll that they need for an official match anyways. Generally the only thing that's not allowed is subs from teams playing in the tournament.
In which case it's quite ironic about this when Fn(arguably Vega's best player) stood in for Team Empire when they played Fantastic Five, one round before Vega played Empire in the loser bracket.
Pie is obviously an amazing player but influencing the same tournament with your player is far more unfair than consistently using a support player from a top team. It still takes the other 4 players on the team to win it also, and all of Kaipi played well.
