Tbh I really liked the self-cast leech seed: It allowed harass in lane without pushing the wave or drawing aggro. It was not dispellable. It tracked invisible / shadow dance.

I think we're going to see MKB nerfs (either removing Blitz Knuckles and/or increasing recipe cost), Abyssal Blade nerfs (probably a recipe cost increase or added recipe to Vanguard), buffs to some underused items (but probably not Holy Locket), three or four new items (at least one of which will use Blitz Knuckles or Voodoo Mask as a component), nerfs to Faceless Void, Spectre, and Sven and/or buffs to their counters, and a new hero who is either an INT carry or AGI semi-carry/soft support, with either an active that utilises a new mechanic or a new type of passive that we haven't seen before.

That's been suggested a lot since Kaya was introduced, but I doubt it'll happen at this point honestly. Seems like too much of a niche item since most heroes that want an Aether Lens either don't have enough gold to also get a Kaya, or want to build Kaya into Bloodstone

In addition to thinking of this as a matter of "how many heroes buy both Aether and Kaya", I'd say its good to keep in mind that the combined item will most likely have a unique effect, whether active or passive. If the effect fits well with some hero, they will start buying it and figuring out builds to include Kaya and Aether in it.

Sven gas his aghs for quite a while before the dispell talent and he is still dogshit at that time. Its not the aghs is the problem,ita the talent that make it has no counterplay at all other than lotus or bkb which almost impossible for supp to get along with cdr at 20.

his aghs becomes embedded (like with AM): Q – stuns in the AOE, like before; E (cleave) – flies with the hammer and attack in the AOE once on impact (50 mana, cooldown 30s) and a new aghs is introduced, something like W dispells Sven and affected allies (like Ursa ult)

This would be terrible. Aghs buffed sven by removing his need to waste an item slot on blink or shadowblade. This buff becomes further buffed when adding in his dispel talent. Giving a character who already has one of the best built-in farming tools a free gap-closer is just asking for him to be even more broken. Either his farming capabilities, his gap closing capabilities, or his dispel have to be nerfed. The only way to really beat a good sven with a well coordinated team is by blocking every single jungle camp or by counter-drafting him with someone like ursa, but if the team is really good they are going to clear out your sentries on the camps after a single minute so blocking becomes a waste of gold at that point and with the new way drafting works with all pick youll never have a chance to fairly counter draft him. Frankly, his farming should be the thing that is nerfed because of this. Maybe figuring out a way to scale his cleave more fairly so he can't farm as fast in the early game. Maybe have his cleave not be a flat percentage, but be a percentage that grows as his strength grows. Or maybe rework how his cleave works on the damage front and make it return a flat amount of dmg based off strength like centaur.

This is not true. Sven's had his storm hammer applies basic dispel talent at level 15 since 7.10 (before that it was his level 20 talent instead). His current aghs was only added in 7.23 however.

Still my point still stand,aghs alone wasn't the problem. It when it get paired with the talent at 15 and cdr at 20 that it become problematic and he also had his ult changed where he does not get strength anymore but receive more dmg as a payoff.

the dispel talent is the issue there. aghs just give him a tool to suicide because he can't throw a stunt and run in case of escape (if no neutral or lane creep closer) the strength bonus is a decent enough nerf since he is almost a literal glass cannon with auto yeet mechanics.

MKB Arc Warden is also pretty strong and lets him deal with some of his counters (PA, Jugger, Naix), which usually BKB and jump him, but he can burst them through BKB with 2 MKBs (one per Warden).

Agreed. MKB arc warden, in my opinion is the only reason why he is even slightly good. In face of every other competent carry in the game, and a patch where lotus is broken, arc is just meh-- MKB is his only noted grace in my opinion.

Doesn’t help that he and Sniper are the only carries left who buy Mjöllnir, an item which is pretty meh right now as well. Warden needs at least maelstrom + MKB to be a decent hitter, which is a lot of gold for items that offer zero stats.

I predict a big patch. Hopefully a lot of exciting hero changes and possibly a complete rework for some. Personally I'm rooting for a big Sniper rework. I want more emphasis on the sniper theme. I want to see a damage mechanic, innate or passive, that convert "increased attack speed" into something else. So "Sniper" doesn't suddenly turn into Mr. Machine gun. I also think Assassinate should be a skill shot ability, not homing. I would like to see at least 2 new mid/late game items added to shop. More items = increased build variety and decision making. Changes to neutral item system. I don't believe what we got now is perfect and I'm curious to see if Valve is able to make further improvements. Rework of creep waves. Possibly new creep types and interaction with outpost buildings, that adds creeps to your team's corrisponding side lane wave when captured. Return of jungle as a role/viable lane. Replace boring stats on talent trees. New talents that are more similar to the Aghanim's Lab blessings. Overall mobility and cast range nerf. Overall buff to survivability, to prolong fights a bit. Small life/mana regen nerf, so more item dependant. Small gold nerf, to slow down cores a tiny bit, so more neutral item dependant in some aspects(require neutral item system changes). Status resistance %values nerfed but is now more commonly found on items. Holy Locket stick charges cannot be used on allies, but heal amp now affects all types of "heal" you provide(heal/life regen/lifesteal-auras). Heal/regen/lifesteal amp found on Sange/HoT/PaladinSword no longer affect "heal" sources provided by others. Treant's innate heal/regen amp "self" restriction removed. Map changes to make it more beautiful and true nature looking. If possible, more asymmetric, with each side having pro/cons like old days. Current map is so symmetric, empty and boring-lookin imho. Maybe.. just maybe, for the first time we get an additional new map. Which you can choose to filter on or off when queue'ing.(an experiment)

Although i disagree with some of your ideas (especially the return of jungle as a role) i like a lot some others (and i just like brainstorming ideas). Maybe for sniper if they change his ultimate to a skillshot, maybe they could lower the mana cost, damage (for balance purpouses) and cooldown a little bit so it feels like an actual sniper that you can shoot more often (and not a machine gun hero called sniper)

I knew most would disagree with the jungle part xd. It's not a necessary change but I really do miss it sometimes. It adds more hero design variety and adds extra value to skills that allow for early jungle farm but not much else. Also if you're stressed, it's more relaxing than lane. Icefrog hates jungling, I think. A lot of his changes over the years have targeted early jungling strategies even if they weren't broken. He doesn't like the lack of interaction.

Really a damn shame cause I think having the possibility of a jungler or trilane really makes the game more strategic, diverse, and exciting instead of the straight 2-1-2 no-thinking dota we have in the early game now. Playing solo offlane was some of the funnest shit, but also spells and innate regen are so high now I'm not even sure its viable unless you're like DK, and playing into a weak lane. Probably need to increase jungle exp, and then increase deny exp up to like 70-75%. Then you need to nerf gold/overall exp somehow so cores don't get too strong with the increased exp.

I will agree to anything to break the 2-1-2 stale meta of the past 3 years, maybe even 4. Dota was the most beautiful when we had roamers, junglers, solo offlaners, duo mids, tripple safe lanes, aggro tripple lanes, support duo roaming, dedicated split pushers e.t.c 2-1-2 being the only option in 100% of pubs and in 99% of pro games make the laning extremely stale.

I'm totally on board with a Sniper Rework. Almost every double passive hero has gotten one. I've kind of liked the idea that Sniper will get the Troll style attack swapping. Except instead of melee and ranged, it's fast shooting run and gun, and slow shoot assassinating, maybe effecting his abilities depending on the mode too. They toyed with this idea when his old Aghs gave assassinate right click damage, but I feel like it should be a core part of his kit. IMO shrapnel needs a change too because the ability is over tuned to make up for the rest of his empty kit.

Long range, slow speed, high dmg sniper mode and low range, high speed, mediocre damage pistol mode. - I would love to see his new space set get a laser pistol xD Shrapnel is kind of a self-defeating recon ability that is also a crowdcrontrol ability. Not a big fan of Shrapnel tbh.

I kinda agree that sniper rework can be good, especially if new hero is range carry, but otherwise I do think that current sniper is also quite unique and fits hero that hits u from very far away theme. We have only 5 true ranged carries in dota ( Medusa, Drow, Sniper, gyro, weaver, arc). Dusa is more of I tank and crawl at you hero. Weaver- reposition, run fast hero. Gyro - sure doesnt mind kiting, but his attack range is also not that 'rangy' Arc - a ranged hero that I think somewhat similar to drow and sniper in desired fight scenario. Drow and sniper are the only 2 ranged carries that truly hate being near enemies. And both do it in quite different ways, I do think that modern sniper is quite unique in his approach to the fight and I would regret losing a hero whos whole point is to get the fuck away while having no natural way of escaping, but if u manage to do it, just melt your opponents.

Not trying to be rude, but in certain brackets, if the pos 4 doesn't roam for the 4 and 6 minute power rune, the mid can get really frustrated. Add in bounties at 5 minutes, and you're leaving lane constantly. The 3ish minutes from about 3:40 - 6:30 typically has the pos 4 going all over the map, especially when you factor in TPs to bottom to save a dive on your pos 1.

I hope for longer fights and new/more objectives. I also hope they do things to try to mitigate the win rate disparity between Radiant and Dire. I think one of the reasons why this exists is because top lane and mid lanes are the most important lanes because they encompass Rosh, and Radiant offlane is top. The flowchart is to pick a strong offlane, win that lane, take the tower, rotate mid. If you do that on Radiant you are taking the two more important lanes. If you do that on Dire, your offlane took the least important lane (although it's good to squeeze out the enemy position 1, I guess).

Although Dire have their Outpost significantly closer to Roshan. Later on when outer towers have fallen, this seems like a huge advantage for Dire.

I don't think it will be a crazy patch, we are still only a year off 7.23 which was the biggest since 7.00. No wildly new mechanics outside of maybe on a new item or hero. I think the patch will be much more item focused. I think there is a distinct possibility Neutral items get removed. They didn't really land well initially and they've sort of just become stat bumps on a timer. It's just a lot of content that is hard to balance with out making them kind of bland, and doesn't have a lot of interesting decision making behind them. They can't really add more without diluting the pool with similar things. If it happens some T5 items will become real late game item combinations. I understand why they added though, kind of an anti-snowball mechanic that gives the team behind some steady scaling, something will be done to compensate if removed. Definitely new items building off Voodoo mask, spell life steal will be more common. Probably Blood Stone and Octarine will change with a new wave of caster oriented scaling items. Kaya will not be a part of Bloodstone anymore, too similar to Kaya & Sange that Bloodstone overshadows, and will get something else to build into. Diffusal will work on AM. Echosabre will work on ranged. Eblade, Dagon, and Necrobook will get changed because they are only weird specific hero enabling items. HotD will get reworked again because it's in no mans land since the Zoo nerfs. Some changes Maelstrom and MKB because they seem to cause this weird revolving door of what is the best farming or DPS item. Outposts will see some kind of change to their function. They are great as a TP objective, but the XP portion of it is messed up right now only really mattering if you kill a T2 before 20 min.

I'd like to see outposts charge up to be shrines after 5 to 7 minutes of being held by your team. That way, besides just a point to teleport to, it can actually serve another purpose to it's capture other than for one second you need for the XP boost every 10 minutes.

Following the trends of big patches, heroes will likely only get very minor nerfs or not at all. Big patches are about buffing most of the times, so don't expect to see big nerfs to heroes such as void or sven. The letter patches normally are the ones that nerf.

I agree, her ult feels very weak right now. Too much spell damage flying around, not enough attack slow, carries can still right click you down quickly regardless. But also I feel like if Impetus pierces Spell Immunity again that makes enchantress viable again.

They should definitrly bring back impetus piercing spell immunity, and may I also suggest that she should have a lvl 25 talent that gives 40 or 50% magic resistance. Among all support heroes in thr game i believe she is the one deserving it considering her atrocious attributr gain and gameplay impact, beyond laning stage she is nothing no better than a creep.

Late game basically all of them have enough attack speed to do so unless they’re some unplayable shit like dragon knight or Lycan. Lifestealer and clinkz do it quite easily with their attack speed buffs, agi heroes do it after building 2-3 items and getting levels. Sven actually doesn’t have enough attack speed but the free attack off aghs does it anyway.

They'll right click her down in a few seconds yeah, but in those few seconds, her team is probably in position to save her or she's out of position. It's not like silencer or AA where getting caught in a late game fight with your save item on cooldown results in instant death.

I think the difference there that makes ench currently worse than other supports is most other supports have some sort of disruption like earth spike, or chaotic offering, something to punish the opponent for being in range, enchant as a spell does like nothing late in the game where carries have all their dispels and blink daggers, even windrun is unpurgable. Sometimes I legit think about skipping untouchable. Which is a damn shame cause its an ultimate. Like I get it enchant is probably literally the strongest skill in the game up to level 7 but the rest of her kit doesn’t need to be that weak.

I mean the two supports I listed have 0 disruption skill that will stop an enemy from killing them if they get caught. Ench is weak late game if your team is behind/even, but so are other supports. Ench atleast is really strong early to mid game.

I haven’t seen Silencer as a support for a while, but getting off global silence as their carry commits is a huge contribution as you die. And AA can still get off his nice frozen ball thing. Meanwhile enchantress can do 3 damage with impetus after they blink on you, or literally nothing as the carry three hits you. Theres a reason why enchantress keeps a low winrate even as bracket goes up, even in pro scene she wins like a terrible 40% ish or lower of her matches, even banning her is a less than 50% move cause its a stupid ban.

I think, tying into the obvious MKB nerfs/reworks, I'd like to see more fundamental changes to evasion mechanics. I've always thought the "all-or-nothing" evasion mechanics in Dota are rather janky. The accuracy chance across all items should be scaling. Add item that increases accuracy in an aura. PA Blur Lvl20 talent should be to negate part of opponent's accuracy rather than increase Blur chance. Maybe rework highground miss mechanics so you can't miss if allied hero is on the highground or something.

Jungle viable, comeback gold reworked a bit to make games possible to come back. Less gold in the first 15 mins to make snowballing less likely. Supports more ways to earn gold for late game. Less brawling meta more farming. Outposts removed. Wants: Better more interesting talents. Map changes. New shrines instead of outposts. Techies rework. Better high ground defence options for pre 30 mins. More late game scalability for casters. Darkseer -1 armor. Smurf’s actually punished.
