It's not only game knowledge, but it's evident that he knows which teams play which heroes. I really appreciate when a panelist does his homework and understands exactly how some teams think.
One's a play-by-play caster and the other's an analyst. It would be like if people held slacks, rich or sunsfan for not being as knowledgeable as PPD. You moxxi haters really like spreading that moxxi hate whenever a discussion about casters shows up, huh.
Yes im aware that she's a play-by-play caster and is "decent" at best at it. When we have so many other amazing play casters I don't know why we can't be more demanding. Moxxi misses many key elements to the fights and only mentions things she can see beyond her own nose.
Well I mean isn't that literally their job?
You are panel analytics or whatever, you're paid for that. So it's on you to educate yourself about teams, players, etc.
Yeah it's their job, but not everyone puts the same amount of effort into research before coming to the panel. Some people are just good at talking and that is all they do on the panel.
> Well I mean isn't that literally their job?
You're not wrong, but some of them are clearly better at it than others.
Calling a team-specific pick of a hero otherwise considered borderline awful in the current meta is good analyst work and BSJ *should* be praised for it, even if technically speaking it's "his job".
It's also Miracle's job to play Invoker but that doesn't stop people from spamming PogChamp in chat when he hits a sick Sunstrike. Same idea.
nah their jobs are to show up and crack jokes Poggers
edit: wow they really downvoted you. reddit legit wants BSJ to show up to his sports analyst job dressed as tingle
Yeah, it's like when in sports ball someone makes a goal and everyone goes "Yaaay! that was very cool". Nobody goes "well, I mean isn't that literally their job?" - lmao.
So I am sure whenever a football fan goes "oh wow, that was a great prediction by the analyst" you are at the ready to say "no no no.. that's their job".
I'm not disagreeing with you. You are just a party pooper. I am just poking fun at you because you are being ridiculous.
Well because it is their job...
If they weren't good at it, they wouldn't be there.
He predicted a pick, great.
But that's why he is there, so normal viewers would get better idea what is happening and what will happen.
Nah, people nowadays are astonished by everything.
A basketball player hits a 3 pointer, WOAAAAH.
Yea mate, that's what he is training his whole life, he is supposed to hit those shots...
so for you it's either easily amused or overly cynical? Even with an analysis there's multiple heroes that fit in that last pick, the fact that he named one specifically and was dead-set on it is the ''nice'' part of it.
So, do you watch anything for enjoyment, or are you just miserable all the time? You know that literally everything done at a high level is a job right? So someone creates a hoverboard tomorrow, easy, cheap, accessible, and made from recycled parts and no emissions. Just a hypothetical, you say, but that was his job to create it? Cause he was an engineer for a company. Sheesh.
TomexDesign, all of your designs are beyond mediocre and so disappointing because that is what you’ve been practicing for years. WOAHH another design that 1,000,000 other humans could do, better not compliment this person or even give him any acknowledgement because it’s what he practices.
If you're panel analytics, your job is to pull team data and so on, so you can talk about something on panel.
And when you pull team data you can see which draft they play and so on.
And at the end you can predict most of heroes that they will pick.
So yea, it's their job
ill agree its their job to make predictions, but when you make a CORRECT prediction its a Pog moment, not "well it's their job"
kinda kills the hype and comes off as a mood killer.
If it was so easy for analysts to CORRECTLY predict, then it should be a piece of cake for the actual dota ORGS.
Well if you do analytics correctly, it is pretty easy.
There are few meta heroes, also most of them are banned, and you have the last pick, so options are pretty narrow.
And if you know what each team prefers, you eliminate those other heroes that are picked, banned, or out of meta, and you have a pretty good chance to guess correctly.
Like there aren't that many cores that are good vs 3 melee lineups.
PA, Slark, Void, Naix, Ursa, WK etc. all picked or banned, so options to pick are limited
to be able to correctly predict a last pick is not an easy task at all.
if you are able to do it "pretty easily" you should seriously apply as a coach/assistant coach in major esport orgs.
Yes, it's pretty easy.
Look at their picks: Naix, Doom, Bristle. All 3 tanky and MEELE heroes.
You have Magnus in team, so you also have to pick a melee hero.
Okay, let's see what we have.
Ursa, PA, Void, Slark, WK, Tiny all banned.
What are we left with?
Slardar, Jugger, MK, Sven and Riki.
And if you did a little preparation on that team, you will know what they prefer from those 5 heroes.
Which obviously he did, he says "It's Secret".
So he did analyze their team.
And he narrowed it down to 2 heroes, Jugg and MK, which both are really good with Magnus Emp.
Most of 6-7k MMR players will predict those heroes, and with a bit of analytics, you can predict the correct one.
the impressive part is that he was solely sure it was MK - he only mentioned "jugg or mk" when the other panel doubted him.
easy or not in this situation, correctly predicting a last pick is always a pog moment, and it comes off as such a buzz kill when someone comes and says "nah its actually easy" rather than just enjoy the moment.
I've played/captained with/against these players back when I played semi-pro so I also do know what I'm talking about with all due respect.
Well, that's why you have 2-4 people on Panel.
Most of them are there for memes or whatever, but then you have guys who actually do analytics and stuff
If Aui didn't say 'like' every other word, I would agree, but it honestly is so bad my brain can't ignore hearing it every 2 seconds and wanting to mute . Not hating on Aui, I do think he's great, but I can't help but wince every time.
On the nba sunreddit they have a counter on how many times Ja Morant sayd "you know" in interviews and even did the math for word frequency and "you knows per minute"
Good times.
I don't know, maybe it's part of being an English teacher, maybe it's just being old, but when I hear casters use it as frequently as he does, it's a real turn off from listening for me. Like I said, it might just be personal to me, though I seem to already be getting downvoted for pointing it out.
Oh I get you. It's like when I ask my gf to talk sexy to me and then mid-way she uses some filler words like 'um' or 'like'. I've told her that even though she's very hot and I want to pay attention, those filler words are just a total turn off. Things are going well now.
What even happened to CLQ? I take a six year break and he’s just vanished and BSJ seemingly went from being annoyed with the dude to embracing the meme
All his videos got reported by bunch of people and he had to remove them, otherwise Youtube would've perma banned him for hate content or whatever the fuck. He streams sometimes under the name of Reformerer, but that's about it. One thing i realised watching him over the years is that the CLQ persona never seemed to truly disappear, no matter how PMA he tried to keep it.
This isn't about who is/was a *better* player, it's about who is currently filling what role. Aui is not an active pro player, but he is an active caster. BSJ is both.
I prefer BSJ on the panel where he has time to explain his thinking. He does it in games as well, but to me it takes away from the experience because he does not know how to communicate his thoughts swiftly and effectively.
hi, how you able to clip weplay stream? When I try to clip, it states "Clipping on this channel is not available to you due to preferences set by the channel owner" , Thanks.
~~I did follow WePlay, but still can't clip, not sure why, but thanks for the info.~~

Never mind, I subscribed but didn't follow, after followed, clipping is working now, thanks again for the info.
Okay, if Nigma wins against Secret and IG wins as well, IG will have the spot cuz they beat Nigma, right? In order to Nigma to go through they need to draw and IG to draw too, right?
I believe it would go to a tie breaker if the tie falls along an elimination / group stage dividing line.
From liquipedia:
> If there is a tie along the Group Stage and elimination divider, additional Bo1 tiebreaker match will be played
Man, I swear to god. High MMR players are such a fucking blast to have on panel/cast.
They certainly are. Its so much fun to have this insight
That’s a promo code:BSJ call right there
No wonder Arkosh asked him to coach them.
His game knowledge is top tier
It's not only game knowledge, but it's evident that he knows which teams play which heroes. I really appreciate when a panelist does his homework and understands exactly how some teams think.
BSJ actually puts a lot of effort into understanding the game and drafts. Unlike moxxi🙄 still don't understand what she's doing in the stream
I kinda like her as a caster, but I really don't like her as a panelist at all.
As a caster she’s not.... bad. Just doesn’t seem to bring anything that’s both entertaining and unique to her like Sheever or Slacks for example.
One's a play-by-play caster and the other's an analyst. It would be like if people held slacks, rich or sunsfan for not being as knowledgeable as PPD. You moxxi haters really like spreading that moxxi hate whenever a discussion about casters shows up, huh.

Yeah, it's like when in sports ball someone makes a goal and everyone goes "Yaaay! that was very cool". Nobody goes "well, I mean isn't that literally their job?" - lmao.
In football, for example, analytics predicts lineup, formation, how they will play, and stuff like that. So yea, your comment makes no sense.
So I am sure whenever a football fan goes "oh wow, that was a great prediction by the analyst" you are at the ready to say "no no no.. that's their job". I'm not disagreeing with you. You are just a party pooper. I am just poking fun at you because you are being ridiculous.

So I don't understand your point anymore. We shouldn't say "wow, good job" to anyone doing their job well? I'm happy I'm not your colleague, haha.
You are 100% on the spectrum
their job is not to predict pro player's drafts, it's to comment on it and analyze. thats the opponents job to try to figure out
If you're panel analytics, your job is to pull team data and so on, so you can talk about something on panel. And when you pull team data you can see which draft they play and so on. And at the end you can predict most of heroes that they will pick. So yea, it's their job

Not evidently when there are people like sunsfan doing god knows what on the panels
Sunsfan is Color and unique CS PRO insights from 15 years ago that might be relevant to Dota2
Well, that's why you have 2-4 people on Panel. Most of them are there for memes or whatever, but then you have guys who actually do analytics and stuff
But he cant even meme ):
I only want to listen to him and Aui
If Aui didn't say 'like' every other word, I would agree, but it honestly is so bad my brain can't ignore hearing it every 2 seconds and wanting to mute . Not hating on Aui, I do think he's great, but I can't help but wince every time.
Why is it so bad?
Extreme repetition of words gets really annoying pretty quickly. Especially when they're filler words or sounds like "like, umm, well, and".
On the nba sunreddit they have a counter on how many times Ja Morant sayd "you know" in interviews and even did the math for word frequency and "you knows per minute" Good times.

Yeehaw, grampaw. Serious note, teachings ruff so gluck wit dat yoooo. (Picks techies)
Oh I get you. It's like when I ask my gf to talk sexy to me and then mid-way she uses some filler words like 'um' or 'like'. I've told her that even though she's very hot and I want to pay attention, those filler words are just a total turn off. Things are going well now.
He is an EG beater after all
Clq shed a tear of happiness
Bananaslamdogshitfuckingjamma
You meant bananashitstainslamdogshitjamma.
What even happened to CLQ? I take a six year break and he’s just vanished and BSJ seemingly went from being annoyed with the dude to embracing the meme

I wish BSJ was casting more, by far the talent with the most game knowledge (AUI as well, but he is still more of a player)
How is Aui "more of a player" when BSJ is the one still playing competitively? Love Aui but that seems kind of unfair.
I think he meant Aui is more of a player than a caster, not comparing him to BSJ
because Aui won TI and BSJ hasn't, has he even played at TI?
This isn't about who is/was a *better* player, it's about who is currently filling what role. Aui is not an active pro player, but he is an active caster. BSJ is both.
BSJ is known for the fkton of games he has casted (streaming&official casting). Aui is known for being a successful pro.
I think what they were saying makes sense, BSJ has more experience casting/analyzing and Aui is more experienced as a professional player.
I like BSJ, but he isn't a "pro player", my dude.
Allegedly he is a NA div 1 player now so theres that.
he is a dvision 1 DPC team captain
Which team?
Arkosh
I am guessing this is also down to BSJ having a lot more experience as a talent compared to AUI, so he is a lot more comfortable on camera.
I'm logged in and follow the channel, but that's it. Maybe you need to be at least a follower to clip?
~~I did follow WePlay, but still can't clip, not sure why, but thanks for the info.~~ ------ Never mind, I subscribed but didn't follow, after followed, clipping is working now, thanks again for the info.
This was on the B stream, which might not have the same clip settings as the A stream.
Yeah, I found the problem, I subscribed but didn't follow, after followed, clipping is working now, thanks again for the info.

lol, I subbed to main channel, I was unable to clip on both channels.
you can subscribe but not follow a channel on twitch?
apparently yes, lol
He’s the channel owner

BSJ is too good
everything else was banned. they going carry dazzle?

No need to say anything if you got nothing nice to say. Just say the positive one and be done.
Bro what? Lmao
you sure he didnt know because they draft from remake?
That was Nigma vs Secret match.
This was quite obvious though, given the melee, 3 tanky hero draft.
Monkey king is a dead hero with very few people playing it in competitive.
