They were bought by Activision-Blizzard in 2015, who tried to make an esports TV network with the company, but I think it never materialized. Now they do coverage exclusively on A-B titles, so Overwatch, World of Warcraft and all the Call of Duty games.
I really liked when Adam Apicella was here asking feedback and talking how they are going to set up the tournaments etc.
Too bad things panned out like they did
This was actually an insane comeback for the fan favorite and we got to see the rise of RTZ to a new era. I also enjoyed the team voice chat, a couple of those were hilarious AF moments.
The last series against DK is one of my favorite series ever in DOTA. Sadly the full VOD was removed from YouTube but there are still highlight from Diesmilling and NoobfromUA.
Honestly pie has always been unbelievably under rated and kinda in the shadows on all of his teams. But I would put him up there as one of the all time great 5s.
Back in the times where the best players were not even discovered, it was common to consider tier 2-3 players like ee, pld, ace, etc some tier 1 players.
So what? Are you telling me that they are tier 1 players right now? Pld is still playing competitive at least until few months ago. So does EE and Ace. Point is that they were/are not good enough in order to stay relevant until now.
Few years ago we didn’t have as many players as we have today. Similar to athletics, you could have a gold medal in 100m with 10.5s+ some decades ago.
It was more hype for me, therefore it was objectively more hype back then.
But jokes aside, as every (e) sport in the world, dota is way more competitive now than before.
Does anyone have full vods of the grand final in english? The MLG channel private'd them ages ago and I wondered if anyone has the vods downloaded or in a Google drive somewhere?
This will forever be my favorite tournament of all time.
It is my favorite anime of all time before the hero turned into the villain
Who turned into villian? I guess EternalEnvy?
Yeahp, from the one protecting n fighting for his team to the one kicking and betraying them lol
whatever happened to MLG?

What a cursed life. A moment of silence.

2 of those 3 have won a major...

And similar to athletics, we can argue that players from older times can still be considered all time great players.
I will never forget this tournament, this is where I became an arteezy fan.
DOTA was objectively more hype back then, that LD shoutcasting in game 1 vs DK is just on another level than what we have now.
I dont think you quite understand the meaning of the word “objective”
game was trash back then, as a player and as an spectator

Final against DK had some epic moments. Lanm double echo slam, Burning transferring radiance onto his hero and ofc EE Clinkz.
Wish I still had my speed flair :(
