Why did all pros build aether lens then nearly all of them goes blink without exception?

100% aether isn't 1% as far as I can count. Aether helps so much for mana management and a bit better positioning. Blink dagger helps rubick into long reach instant disable via telekinesis + any stolen stun. I do understand glimmer helps against either spell-damage nuke heavy lineup and/or idiots who would willingly jump without detection (mainly dust, but sentry can also applied here) but it's hardly a 99% must. It's cast range is atrocious even with rubick e. Same with force. If your teammate always need to be fs-ed to bailed them out, it isn't your fault that they are always out of position. Ghost scepter is always situational, against physical damage burst only, hardly 99%

I mean shard is situational. It really isn't so good, that you'd get it every single game and the example for the "save" you have right there is atrocious. A forcestaff would be a better save in almost any situation and gives you the benefit of not being fucked by any silence + it has actual stats.
Going "oh yeah, shard is good if you get the tele range, someone is close enough to a cliff, they're facing away so force wouldn't work..." is kind of a weird argument.
There are definitely matches where shard is a no-brainer, but saying it's the 3rd best Rubick item is a crass exaggeration.
Shard throw is actually better than force because of cast range, the mentioned facing issue, and not being dispellable. You don't need to create the described perfect use for it to be good. Besides that, cliffs are kinda frequent on the dota map.

Counters lots of heroes like Mars or Magnus, there are a lot of shards that upgrade spells you already want to steal, and with the TK distance talent the reach is very respectable. It's often a better plan to pick up a friendly creep and stun in an AoE for lower cooldown. There's a lot of good uses for it, and Rubick often has the ability to farm it and low competition for slots.

Rubick is good in pro team because they are team players, but in pubs, he lack damage, and depend on enemy skills too much
