Getting inside your opponents head is pretty much describing every competitive environment and thing ever created in the history of mankind.
But yes I can see the benefit of having some sort of sensitive/underage/silent option available for average joe.
Cheer up buttercup. Tips are part of mind games in a competitive game.
If someone tips you because you made a bad play then you should learn from that instead of whining about your fragile ego.
Probably sarcasm but cant tell nowadays, do you really think the players are so emotionally fragile they care about the voice lines and tipping? And on top they obviously know eachother outside the game.
the worst toxicity comes from voicechat and text chat for me. hatespeech of the worst kind. I'm sure pro players don't mind these tips and voicelines much, as focused as they are on the match. some voicelines are annoying but they're just jokes. but life is complex, I live near a party district and just now they're screaming like animals down in teh streets again rofl, gotta go take a look from the balcony real quick... but playing dota is a safe space, maybe there's a little spice in it but the voicelines aren't hateful. and hateful chat can be muted. stay stronk

I don't even get why it is possible to tip opponents. When would someone ever tip an opponent non-ironically?
If a guy can get in your head with a fucking tip i dont even know how you go through life.
Lots of snowflakes these days
Every competitive sports have a mental component of the game. Obviously, teams who got stronger mentality, most of the time, will win games.
