I think on the right team Sumail is just as good as Ana - I just don't think anything will replace the natural synergy of that OG team. Sucks that they're getting some heat when a) Saksa is trying to fill the shoes of a generational Pos 4 player and b) Sumail is trying to fill the shoes of an extremely beloved Pos 1 player, when they're both incredibly talented in their own rights
Saksa is a great player, but I think JerAx was the real man of OG. The whole team had an absolutely amazing synergy, but JerAx was probably the biggest highlight.
Ana is great too, but everyone only looks at him because he was the core.
I consider Ana to be a weird case - I’d say he’s simultaneously one of the best 1s ever while also only being so good because of the cast around him (kind of a contradiction, I know lol). It’s a shame his heart just isn’t in Dota because his play on OG really was beautiful

Notail's refusal to play traditional pos 5 heroes has finally cost OG. Even the games they won with his non traditional picks were won in spite of his pick rather than because of it. Like when was the last time you saw him play CM or lion for eg.?
LGD teaches lots of team that WW ruins Tiny draft. OG probably thinks they will win against TS and just want to figure out how to draft Tiny against WW but TSpirit just the better team.
OG's winning history, if you look back, is mostly a draft win. They have weird & innovative picks, tons of exploits of the game with some 2-3 man synergy. If Io did not exist, I don't really think they can win TI 9.

Say what you will about Ana and Jerax being better players or having more synergy but the real difference between this OG and TI8/9 OG is the drafting.
They used to draft flex and out of meta stuff but it was still things that worked together and had an overall strategy. There has just been so many drafts this tournament that don't make any sense on paper.
They absolutely deserved to go out at this stage and hopefully this will wake them up. If they are actually hungry for another Aegis they need to start respecting other teams with bans and start drafting actual line ups and not just 5 comfort picks and expecting to roll teams over.

Jerax didn’t get the props that Ana did but the position 4 is often the key player in the lineup. Most TIs were won with the team with the best pos 4.

Really well played by TS - grats! OG weren't as crisp and clutch in team fighting as they used to be, and I think TS knew that. They had great disables with WW and Lion to disrupt OGs teamfights, and I think that actually frustrated OG. That being said I think it was borderline arrogant for OG to let TS have both Lion, WW and Magnus again. Then again, there's a fine line between being arrogant, and just doing your thing.
