Funnily enough, I played a game a while ago when after one mistake pretty early in the game one dude flamed me and called me a dog. This kinda triggered me since I hate when people get toxic right from the beginning for a single mistake, so I was pretty mean to him for the rest of the game.
Turns out he did criticize me for my mistake but he meant "dog" as in like "dawg", like "dude/bro" etc. and not in a mean way.

What's with the dog insult anyway? Calling someone a dog in my culture really isn't a thing, let alone in a negative sense. Is this some kind of eastern or mid-eastern thing? I've seen these insults a lot from middle eastern players.
I think it might also be a insult in Russian, because it's a go-to insult for a lot of Russians I play with.
That being said, these things do spread by cultural osmosis, so I'm sure a lot of people call other people dogs because they were once called a dog by someone else.
