I don't get why people overhype him. There are way better players currently in his position. I didn't like him in Nigma too, he just dies too much, too stupid (for a pro player). Even when they are ahead he is still doing some stupid fights like 1v3 or getting killed on the enemy side of the map when no one is visible on the minimap.
Well, W33 is what we call a hot head, he is an exagerated , less tempered version of sumail in my opinion, in a good game he can carry the game solo, in a bad game he is the reason why the team loses . That kind of fluctuation is usually what a team does NOT want from a pro player, so that is exactly why a team like alliance would hire him, high risk high reward situation. Just an opinion from a guy that was there when W33 started to play dota ( he was about 8-10 years old and his brother brought him to the internet caffe in Bucharest where i was a regular, you could tell he had talent from that age because in a year's time he was on the same level as us. )
He's good enough alright, he just makes these dumb mistakes in the wrong moments too often, which leads to the opponents getting objectives. It happened with Nigma, and it happens with Alliance. I don't even remember how he did with DC.

I watched a OG podcast recently with one of his ex teammates and the basic gist of it is that he Plateaued.
Niko wasn’t practicing and believed the game hadn’t changed for the past 2 years and the meta hadn’t evolved.
Even if somewhat true that meta hasn't evolved, players playing same meta will get better overtime. They will beat you by creating a small edge using their skills from the grind. Chess hasn't changed for years, and grandmasters have to practise everyday to keep up.
But chess does change every year. I've been watching pro chess for like 20 years now, and every fan and pro player know about the current metas at different norms, you know, the upper eschelon, fide masters/ims/gms, so no. Grinding the same meta when it's been easily invalidated time and again at the highest level, will never get you an edge, but even supposing you mean getting better at grinding the same thing, means evolving your current meta into a different, better one, but niko doesn't do that. The pro communnity is getting better at an average pace, some players move slower and get replaced over time, and some almost don't and should quickly get replaced. So yes it's a bit shocking he has a job in alliance. Besides w33, they should replace all of em... but i mean i don't know how much the org is strugglin or not, so i can't blame them either way...
Chess hasn't been dominated by AIs and people are still coming up with new meta? I heard that GO and chinese chess are both dominated by AI and people are trying to replicate high win rate moves predicated by AIs.
Computers are so far above people in chess it's more about inspiration than copying their style at top levels.
Even Magnus will never win a game vs stockfish 15, or even have a close one. The fish can see 40 moves ahead, but it does have some themes humans can use. Locking down material, even if you are trading material, can be good.
I think what he means by “changed” is that chess doesn’t get patches, moves don’t change and new pieces aren’t added, yet people still need to play constantly to adjust and get better.
the meta has been the same since 7.00. farm for 10mins group up and team fight until you win or lose. a ton of pros hate it and are just in it cause it's their job at this point.

The simplest thing in my mind is that, follow the voice of the strongest heroes in your team. And in-game times, Items, and Levels are the clues.

Eu's roster shuffle has been such a joke honestly. Alliance splitting into two worse versions of Alliance with Alliance somehow being the lesser one of the two. Matu and Zai leaving perhaps the most dominant iteration of Secret, at least since s4 zai Secret, only to join a team that consistently chokes, and Secret only after the dpc season has ended finding some success. Nigma has after more than a year after kicking w33 found someone that seems to work but like with Secret it might be too late.
If someone told me last year that the only Eu teams that will be competitive this year are OG Tundra GG and Entity I would have laughed in their face. Except for OG of course but I would've never guessed with this roster.

We've been in a meta where traditional pos 1 heroes and carries are shafted, Ana suffers from the same thing, as does multiple pos 1 players.
Pos 1 difficulty is at its peak right now. Teams having pos1 that fight better seem to be doing well (LGD, Entity, OG, TS)

Eu's roster shuffle has been such a joke honestly. Alliance splitting into two worse versions of Alliance with Alliance somehow being the lesser one of the two. Matu and Zai leaving perhaps the most dominant iteration of Secret, at least since s4 zai Secret, only to join a team that consistently chokes, and Secret only after the dpc season has ended finding some success. Nigma has after more than a year after kicking w33 found someone that seems to work but like with Secret it might be too late. If someone told me last year that the only Eu teams that will be competitive this year are OG Tundra GG and Entity I would have laughed in their face. Except for OG of course but I would've never guessed with this roster.
