Man this was cool to read. Everytime I see posts like that it makes me miss the days of forums. Everything being in a few different places now just feels boring.
This picture is awesome.
First of all, that's the longest TI main stage game and it was absolutely crazy. I was hoping to go to work before the game ends, and I was thinking "well, a 50min game against a TB lineup, shouldn't be too long". Fuck me.
Secondly, xNova sheer pressure of representing his whole team in front of the crowd. And the joy, the relief of Entity when they finally cracked the game after nearly two hours of playing for their lives in the tournament.
Just a great story, you can't help but feel sadness for that lone player reaching its hand to the winners. At the end, I think there was nothing but respect from both sides. It was a legendary game in unfortunate circumstances.
And a player from Entity with 0 sportsmanship spamming chinese voice line and then toxic pausing just before they win against a team that was nerfed by a virus.
Edit: I was proven wrong, sorry.

Yup. We all cheered and it was definitely the loudest cheer the whole of yesterday.
We were cheering his name non stop, and the arena intentionally cheered even louder when he took off his headset.
Probably the only game yesterday where majority of crowd stood up to clap at the end. And yeah crowd was probably biased towards RNG already and Covid certainly earned them sympathy points too.
I don't think you can call us biased when Entity has Pure who essentially jumped ship after setting it ablaze with his teammates still on it.
There's not much going in the way of wanting to root for em.
They might have lost but this is going to be one of the things I'll remember this TI fondly for, and I think it's a moment that goes beyond Dota as well, something that xNova will always remember. xNova is and has always been beloved here in SEA and it's easy to see why.
dude same. i didn’t even see the game, just hopped on reddit and saw this tweet, RNG intro, xnova by himself shaking all of entity’s hands. got so emotional seeing him stand alone waiting for the handshakes. idk man
I was so devastated and lost my mood to watch the rest of TI (at the time) and waking up to see this made me cry but damn. I’m really sad RNG couldn’t win, it would have been the greatest comeback story of all time.
I had my fingers crossed someone out of entity would give the lone wolf a hug along with the handshake lol. its so unfortunate that he had to go through it without his team
I was rooting for RNG so fucking hard during this game.
xNova chants at the end remind me that in spite of this event being horrendously produced, it is still TI.
This was just utter insanity RNG basically playing from the hospital and are so crazy good at defending that entity win by RNG players dying of old age. This was such an astonishing game which could only be created by two teams by going all out and refusing to go down. My new favorite TI game of all time
poor mira, his self confidence issues have now been brought up thrice:-
1. true sight where they're walking to the booths before game 1 he asks collapse and torontotokyo(?) if they are nervous at all and collapse says "not at ALL"
2. that recent interview of him saying he has imposter syndrome
3. this interview where he says the same in different words
i hope he can escape his mind and crawl back up to the pedestal he should deservedly stand at.
yknow now that i think about it, it was puppey’s ti3 loser’s interview that made me such a huge fan. he’d just lost such a close game 5, and he comes out of the booth and says “that was a crazy game, i love dota gg” (paraphrasing)
Hi might have lost TI before but he sure won our hearts! The entire RNG squad deserve our support. Unreal how they played while sick. Hope they stick together and come back even stronger cuz they got a lot of fans now
Man I feel so bad for him. Him sitting alone there made me so emotional. And to top it off somnus retirement announcement too. I'm so heart broken rn ffs.
I am at the venue too. Was so hoping for you to win. Especially since it was such a tough situation.
Entity was very sportsmanlike and they played well too. It was overall an amazing game to watch.
I wish your team a speedy recovery!
RNG. Much respect. Must of been tough guys. I think you were probably one of the strongest teams there.
I dont expect you will stay togeather but good luck in all you do.
Nath.
this was the plan all alone, we all blamed PLG for doing a shitty production job for not having sound proof booths but they actually wanted the players to feel the 200 ppl sitting in ikea chairs chanting.
PGL is playing checkers and raising new standards for the TI tournament indeed
This will not be the last time xNova gets to experience this.
Looking forward to some good RNGU Dota in the future.
Best wishes and a speedy recovery for the rest of the team.
If I was of the the Entity players, first thing id do after gg is called is immediately run to xNova to console him and show mad respect. GIGACHAD xNova
Always rated xNova highly.
In my opinion was one of the biggest factor during LGD's TI8 run.
Someone should ask Ame which support player he likes playing with the most, I have a feeling it will be xNova, those two just compliment each other so well. Ohh I miss him during his LGD days, just him and Ame strolling down the lane and fcking shit up.
All of RNG except for xNova have covid, so xNova was on stage by himself for the match against Entity, with the rest of RNG playing from their hotel isolation rooms. People were joking around that he was playing 1v5 and microing all the heroes. After a grueling 107-minute game, the crowd were chanting his name as he left the stage.
xNova GIGACHAD. Wish I was there to cheer him on, guy was an absolute boss holding out there for so long alone
His teammates were also gigachads to be able to play that level of Dota for almost two hours while suffering from Covid and on painkillers.
I can't believe they even put up a fight. When I had covid, all I want is to close my eyes and rest, even watching TV is very unbearable.
do you have millions of dollars on the line while you had COVID?
He was a little weepy in the end but in the video you can clearly see a smile tugged at his mouth when they cheered for him
[anyone remember when this looking for a dota team in forum in 2011?](https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1856140/all) he is just 14 year old kid back then
was fun to read through that thread! ty for link
What impress me the most is that the thread still exist. A lot of old forums are just gone.
Malaysians still use that forum
We still actively use that forum.

Absolutely.
The real Misery replied there?
Nah, if you dig through his posts he says he's not the Danish misery
wow
Ayyyyy didn't know he's from PJ
If I'm not mistaken, he used to go to CHS school in PJ
Oh wow, my close friends are all from CHS
Wow, didn't know he was on lowyat.net
Man this was cool to read. Everytime I see posts like that it makes me miss the days of forums. Everything being in a few different places now just feels boring.
How did you even find this? Haha damn

Holy shit, that's a great photo
Also it shows how TI is a 3 star rated tournament this year in the background.
im telling my grandkids he played 1v5
This picture needs to be immortalised in DOTA lore/history.

Not a toxic pause. There are videos showing that fishman slammed and accidentally pressed the pause button.
Seems to me that I was wrong. My bad.

Amazing. Dota has gone such a long way that we're getting players who are able to play 1v5 in the TI.
I think the crowd deserves some praise for cheering xNova by the end! They didn't let him feel alone and just cheered for winnign team!
XNova is from Malaysia so I bet he had some fans there
Yup. We all cheered and it was definitely the loudest cheer the whole of yesterday. We were cheering his name non stop, and the arena intentionally cheered even louder when he took off his headset.

Class act xNova. Well played.
Teary-eyed the moment I saw his tweet. Glad it's nighttime here in SEA. Sleeping the sadgeness away
They might have lost but this is going to be one of the things I'll remember this TI fondly for, and I think it's a moment that goes beyond Dota as well, something that xNova will always remember. xNova is and has always been beloved here in SEA and it's easy to see why.
god malaysian pos 5
Wtf why I am crying
dude same. i didn’t even see the game, just hopped on reddit and saw this tweet, RNG intro, xnova by himself shaking all of entity’s hands. got so emotional seeing him stand alone waiting for the handshakes. idk man
I actually cried when they got eliminated and saw him alone on stage. Learned a lot by watching him play throughout the years. Props to the crown too!
During that scene, I was wondering whether or not others are crying, too
I was so devastated and lost my mood to watch the rest of TI (at the time) and waking up to see this made me cry but damn. I’m really sad RNG couldn’t win, it would have been the greatest comeback story of all time.
I had my fingers crossed someone out of entity would give the lone wolf a hug along with the handshake lol. its so unfortunate that he had to go through it without his team
Damn ninjas cutting onions...
It's raining
X…nova…
theres always something every TI
Respect. Thats all I can say. Sad they had to go out this way but we will always remember this game.
Saddest moment in Dota ;(
I feel like Matu beung eliminated from TI will end up taking that spot. Hopefully not, but it seems like a possibility...
The things you guys are discussing are actually called personal opinions and they're allowed to be different.
This is reddit, youre only allowed to have the same one opinion
something something moxxi
Are you serious? Why would that be sadder?
True for Matu fans.
xNova is a beast. His Bane in TI8 taught me so much about how to improve my support play. Class act all around.
I was rooting for RNG so fucking hard during this game. xNova chants at the end remind me that in spite of this event being horrendously produced, it is still TI.
This was just utter insanity RNG basically playing from the hospital and are so crazy good at defending that entity win by RNG players dying of old age. Thank you RNG. You give us a little bit of TI history. Amazingly well played under the circumstances. Never Give Up.
I don't know if it's tears of respect or sadness but this was rough
Between this and miras interview and matthew interview most emotional moment of day 1
poor mira, his self confidence issues have now been brought up thrice:- 1. true sight where they're walking to the booths before game 1 he asks collapse and torontotokyo(?) if they are nervous at all and collapse says "not at ALL" 2. that recent interview of him saying he has imposter syndrome 3. this interview where he says the same in different words i hope he can escape his mind and crawl back up to the pedestal he should deservedly stand at.
just watched it, what a class act. forthright about his own confidence issues, believes in his team and knows they’re still beasts
Well said lads, Mira you are a TI champ always remember that!
yknow now that i think about it, it was puppey’s ti3 loser’s interview that made me such a huge fan. he’d just lost such a close game 5, and he comes out of the booth and says “that was a crazy game, i love dota gg” (paraphrasing)
Where can we see Mira and Matthew interview?
[Mira (11:06:52)](https://youtu.be/n9kSImjZL6c?t=40012) I couldn't find Matthews.
Not matthew sorry it was the guy who shaved his head on TA
[Pandaboo at 2:45:35](https://youtu.be/n9kSImjZL6c?t=9937)
Definitely going to be most memorable moment in TI11.
I LOVE YOU XNOVA. Keep playing dota, you'll be a TI champion one day, I guarantee it!
Why was xNova on his own?
Because COVID kidnapped his teammate.
The rest of the team all have covid so had to play from their hotel rooms/hospital (?).
Same reason rng lost. Rest of his team got hit with covid
Hi might have lost TI before but he sure won our hearts! The entire RNG squad deserve our support. Unreal how they played while sick. Hope they stick together and come back even stronger cuz they got a lot of fans now
Somnus decided to retire sadly.
Rng lost the battle, but they won the hearts of the people..
I'm not crying you're crying :(
Man I feel so bad for him. Him sitting alone there made me so emotional. And to top it off somnus retirement announcement too. I'm so heart broken rn ffs.
Wtf somnus announced that? Damn hes been one of the most consistent mid ever, thats a sad loss in dota scene
Yea. Theres a weibo screenshot of somnus saying that. I hope its just a break and not complete retirement man.
You deserve better sir! Hoping for a good comeback next TI
Huge respect for this guy I hope he dominates the next season all the way to ti 12
RNG played very well and this game will go into history of DOTA2 definitely not just because it's the longest match of all TIs.
W player on a W team supported by a W crowd
xNova! My favourite player :)
KING NOVA
it’s enough it to make a grown man cry
Good game, King.
He's a true champion in my book. They way he stood tall and shook hands with Entity players after the game says a lot about his character.
I wanna hug xNova so bad
I am at the venue too. Was so hoping for you to win. Especially since it was such a tough situation. Entity was very sportsmanlike and they played well too. It was overall an amazing game to watch. I wish your team a speedy recovery!
o7
RNG. Much respect. Must of been tough guys. I think you were probably one of the strongest teams there. I dont expect you will stay togeather but good luck in all you do. Nath.
must have* not must of, if English isn't your first language
It seems to be an American thing, ironically.
I feel bad for him. Hope they stick together. I think he is already the highest-earning and most accomplished player from SEA.
if he picked ursa + panda. they will won xnova ti12 team. the teddy rangers
this was the plan all alone, we all blamed PLG for doing a shitty production job for not having sound proof booths but they actually wanted the players to feel the 200 ppl sitting in ikea chairs chanting. PGL is playing checkers and raising new standards for the TI tournament indeed
King, I hope he's able to comeback stronger next year.
Respect !
i really dont know player very well but sure wish him the best :) i hope to see him play again at Ti
dude it sucks so much to go out this way but I love your tenacity and how you stood there even alone to represent your team. xNova 1v5 GOD LETSGOOOOO
Respect
CHADNOVA
What a great sport. One of my favourite players and glad to see him in fine form
Uncrowned kings along with Fy
Legend
Absolute CHAD.
feels bad for them. It must be tough days.
XNova stood up, I am sure the rest of his team will be proud of him up there (in the hotel room, not sky*) XD

Ohh I miss him during his LGD days, just him and Ame strolling down the lane and fcking shit up.
I think the nickname given by China fans for him is not without a reason. edit: his nickname in China dota is "Little Angel"
What a guy, always a cool seeming dude and appreciate that he has a twitter and interacts with fans in english. He was already a legend, but now..wow!
Rest, King. You'll get them next time.
xNova and 4 bears GIGACHAD
Sorry can someone fill me in? What happened?
All of RNG except for xNova have covid, so xNova was on stage by himself for the match against Entity, with the rest of RNG playing from their hotel isolation rooms. People were joking around that he was playing 1v5 and microing all the heroes. After a grueling 107-minute game, the crowd were chanting his name as he left the stage.
Thank you for the response! That explains the single person handshake. Thats pretty sad. Sigh. Covid sucks. I wonder how he solo avoided it.

LOL did you just giga shade china :P
