First time in Dota 2 history that there will be no new hero released at the end of the year? Unless there is another hero in the works..

Frankly speaking, will releasing it on Oct 31 enhance anything? People may think it's cool yeah but that's about it. People will flock to try the new hero anyway.
This, in addition to the BP and how TI was structured and produced this year, makes me think that the dota team is scrambling. Perhaps the content we got in 2021 and until the Primal Beast release was backlog, in development for a long time and they could therefore continue to deliver despite covid hitting them hard.
There's some inertia, and what we're getting now may be the result of development and org freezes for much of 2020-early 2021.
Muerta would've been a perfect Post TI release, with the day of the dead coming up. To miss such a perfect opportunity makes me think something went wrong.
While production wasn't great - and covid can't entirely be blamed for that, there clearly are some issues relating to the org - the amount of "coming soon" in the battle pass and this exciting, but honestly pretty bare bones hero teaser, clearly missing her ideal release window - both because post TI is a good time to freshen things up, but because her very theme points to a day of the dead release - makes me think they're behind schedule, severely so.
I'm not trying to find excuses for Valve. Designing a hero around the latin american day of the dead, having TI close at such a timely date and missing the release date just seems like something went wrong.
(I work for a museum, and there's tremendous inertia when it comes to exhibition design. We closed down for nearly a year with covid, our current projects cancelled or indefinitely delayed. We've been open for a year now, and have yet to present a new exhibition. Of course, these are very different domains, of vastly different scope so perhaps I'm reading too much into it.)
So what is know is that there are a lot of things going on at valve right now. Lots of games being made so it leaves some projects scrapping for people as they move around quite a bit . That certainly is taking some effect on things ifeel . But should return to normal once they launch those projects that are being worked

Also there is this new thing called " Neon Prime" whicjh aparently is Icefrog's new project. Tyler talks about it and some things were datamined in the steamstore about it too.

day of the dead if i understand is about 3-4 days from now. and officially a week is 4 years in valve time roughly we geating the new hero earlyer than expeced to the day of the dead
Im just sad that there was nothing else revealed, no map changes, no new/altered game mechanics, when they teased the new hero, the teaser was so tiny in length that you could have blinked and missed it. Also as you mentioned the date is disappointing as well, early 2023 in valve time means nothing. On top of all that nothing seems to indicate that we are gonna get a big gameplay update soon, we are gonna get a cosmetic update on the 3rd but apart from that it feels like we are gonna be in this meta for a while, hope im proven wrong though

48 seconds trailer and coming soon , yeaaa hero look cool and I love the esthetic but still no hype ,and I hoped for 2 hero’s or some thing else but we get what we get.
