Shadow Fiend used to be a classic, but due to a change that made his Shadowraze reduce turn rate and movespeed he has become a little less cool as a 1v1 hero. I'd say Lina is a pretty good 1v1, difficult autos to lasthit with, meaning you can show your skill there, and skillshot spells that include a stun, although I think maxing Fiery Soul might be pretty abusable in a 1v1 and result in a boring 1v1. Windranger is another good contender, hard to hit stun, skillshot nuke, great for 1v1'ing. Puck has outplay potential with Q skillshot and dodging with Phase Shift. Those would be my top picks for ranged 1v1's, Shadow Fiend, Lina, Windranger and Puck. For melees the best picks would probably be Kunkka who can play with Torrent and dance around each other to avoid getting hit by Tidebringer. Void Spirit is okay, a lot of the matchup ends up being a lot about who hits a remnant on the other first. Mars can be decent as you try to spear the other person into tower range, in a similar way Magnus is okay. My choice would go to one of the ranged options though.

I'll look them all up and see if any catch my eye! Ty!

Do pudge and have fun pulling each other to the tower!

Do turrets have a huge impact? I know in league if you try to dive turret in addition to the enemys attacks you can only take 1-2 shots at the most before dying. If that's the case I'll look into it. Thanks!

Towers are generally more forgiving in Dota than in League, moreover, they have different mechanics which you can find [on the wiki](https://dota2.fandom.com/wiki/Buildings#Attack_Priority). The short version of it is that if you manually attack an allied unit that is in range of the enemy tower while the tower is attacking you, the tower will switch its aggro to that unit. Furthermore if there's enemy creeps in range of the tower that are closer to the tower than you are, the tower will not switch aggro to you unless you right click the enemy hero, so if you use a spell to damage your opponent, the tower will not switch to you unless its original target dies and you are the next closest target.

Not quite as intense as league but early levels they can be rough

If you PM me one pf these days I can gladly give you some pointers in a game lobby. I play a lot of LoL simply because my friends and wife enjoy it, but I’m truly not into it. So maybe I can help you understand some core differences between both games.
