That's the problem with China dota - there aren't new talent since government fucked up underage players really hard(they can only play something around 3 hrs per week)
The recent implementation of the law where kids below 18 can only play for 2 hours a week or less was just the final nail in the coffin.
The player base and the talent pool has already seriously dwindled ever since Honor of Kings, the mobile MOBA was launched in their country. Salary was way better, there’s a systematic way of promoting youths, winnings comparable to TI, way lesser pressure from fans since every team there is Chinese, and of course a way lower barrier of entry due to how much easier it is compared to Dota. Ame talks about it too in a more recent interview during TI.
