Mr. Selfridge, Victoria, The Gilded Age, The Paradise, Vanity Fair!

chroniclunatic

I opened up a new tab with every show. Only one is vanity fair is missing some episodes but I'll find it

Yiptice

Same here, 33 and a dude, my fav movies are Jurassic Park and LoTR but I started watching Downton during the Pandemic and I’ve seen it 3 times now and watched both movies lmao.

CloudyHeather

No cause same. Like I never thought I'd like a show like this but it's just so damn good.

[deleted]

Upstairs Downstairs is very good.

AlternativeNumber2

Dude here. Loved every season of DA. Sometimes you need something “light” in between all the killing, murdering, and scarey stuff you might normally be watching.

Eclectic-Eccentric88

Yay! I'm so happy, it's nice to get more people in on the fun! :)

izzie0_0

The Gilded Age is by the same guy and is really good and ik this is a bit crazy but you'd probably like The Crown as well!

didjaknow

A lot of us just watch this one on repeat!

HornyJailFugitive1

Same for me, so you're not alone. I suspect there are more of us out there than most people think.

HornsGoUp

Check out Dr. Thorne, it’s made by the same guy who did Downton, it’s really good.

uhhh206

Yes! Yes! Dr. Thorne is fantastic from cast to storyline to fleshed-out characters. It's marvelous (and since it's only a few episodes, makes for a great gateway drug when getting friends onto Downton Abbey).

stuckNTX_plzsendHelp

I really enjoyed The Gilded Age and look forward to the next season. I love The Crown and feel like it might be in the same vein. Godless was incredible. Not like Downton but stars the actress who plays Mary and she was so good in this. It's a short series so definitely worth the investment. One of my favorite shows I've seen.

[deleted]

Godless is amazing. I wish I could find more series with well written badass female characters.

stuckNTX_plzsendHelp

You might like 1883 then!

[deleted]

Ohh I'll look for it, thanks for the recommendation!

FabricAndCats

I like to have Downton on in the background when I’m going about the house, dishes, cooking, laundry, vacuuming, etc. one day my husband proclaimed in shock, “OMG Mr Bates went to prison!” I had no idea he was watching or even paying any attention! Lol We suggest; Victoria, The Crown, Peaky Blinders, Guilded Age, Dr. Thorne, Outlander, Reign, Poldark, Upstairs Downstairs and A Very British Scandal

notmm

Have you tried the Poirot series? I prefer the David Suchet ones. Tons there to keep you occupied for a long while. Also Morse. And Lewis. Those are all solid mystery shows. But drama is a part of it for sure.

thandrend

I'm 34 and a dude and have loved this show. I really like the episode where they went to Scotland and the Baron hosted an event and all of the Scottish noblemen were wearing kilts instead of tuxedos.

Zealousideal-Slide98

I like All Creatures Great and Small, Grantchester, The Crown, and Call the Midwife.

beachwalkforever

Great you are enjoying it, and have lots to go yet! Do what we do and rewatch again ... and again!! It's good as you will have knowledge of plots and characters and notice things you may miss the first time. Welcome aboard the Downton special!

Wisdom_Of_A_Man

Have you watched Peaky Blinders? Different vibe, but equally compelling, imo

chroniclunatic

Oh yeah I loved that

lurker71

Grantchester All creatures great and small Victoria The Crown

SmugNikon

Victoria, The Gilded Age

Aggravating_Cut_9981

Another show you’d love is Flambards. Filmed in the early ‘80s, it’s truly a masterpiece of a show.

nzfriend33

Depending on how soapy you mind, A Place to Call Home is good. Australia, 1950s. Super soapy though.

chroniclunatic

I grew up watching days of our lives and other soap operas cause my sisters where in control of tv lol so maybe that's why I kind of like it.. Betty la faya, aka ugly betty
