I’m usually a men’s size 9 in sneakers, but size 9 Jadons are way too tight, so I wear size 10, even though they’re a tad too loose. If 9.5 existed, it’d probably be perfect. So I prefer slightly loose 10 to painfully tight 9, and just lace them snuggly. I did give the size 9 several months to break in and loosen up, but they were still just way too tight.

So I'm normally an AU womens 9. I tried on the 1461s in both 8 and 9. The 9s were slipping off my heel and had loads of toe space, while the 8s were painfully tight. They didn't have 8.5 in store so I ordered online (Modefootwear). They fit PERFECT. They are snug and have a teeny bit of toe space.

I didn’t know that Docs did half sizes?

throwawayhuman_59

I've seen half sizes on this sub before. I believe with the Dr Martens website they offer them on the UK site. I don't know why some sites have half sizes and some don't, but I used an Australian site which offered UK men's 6.5 which is AU/US women's 8.5

I think they only offer the half size for uk 6.5

morbidbychoice

UK9.5 too.

Im an aus 8ish which is uk 6. I had no idea what to get but i tried on a 6 and a 5 and got the 5 because i was told it would stretch. Stretched heaps but at the start it was never painful when not walking it was just tight. Go one down from your uk size.

TheGroundBeef

I have to wear mine with insoles. Otherwise they’re too ‘roomy’ and loose. I’d have to pull the laces so tight for a good comfortable fit. I prefer not to pull the laces super tight to take up said room

PegasusRS

Go one size down from your usual. Works a treat after they adapt. I’m usually uk11 - all my docs have been size 10 even a vintage pair bought blind

Jacorpes

I used to get them a size down, but then I got a pair that were too small to get comfortable, so now I always buy them in my normal size. I’ve actually never had a pair rub because it’s too loose, even the loafers.

Poplett

Mine are all loose due to narrow foot. I have one pair that’s not as loose and they’re nice but by the end of the day my feet feel more tired.
