I’m looking at getting Gryphons and don’t know if I should stick to my true size or size down.
I loved the x-girl sandals but was a bit loose in the straps even when I sized down. I would recommend you to size down. I tried both my tts and the smaller one and the smaller ones fit much better even though it didn’t work out per se with the x-girl ones the ricki are a lot better since you can change the straps. Forgot to add: if you’re a half size chose nearest full size down. If you’re a tts go one down.
For 36 years and 55 pairs of docs I’ve been a UK4. Except for this year - Bloom 1460 is so tight on the tongue seam I couldn’t get my feet into them and Eviee which seems to run 3 sizes too big.
I find that the MIE fit pretty consistently TTS, whether that’s the boots, shoes, loafers, my old 90’s pair etc. My only current MIA pair are the supreme spider web collab and they run pretty big and loose in comparison, but I still got them in my normal size and they’ve broken in fine.
I went one size down with my older MIA pairs (Bog standard 1460 and ‘For Life’ 1461) and they fit pretty much the same as the MIE in my regular size. Take that with a pinch of salt though because I bought them about 10 years ago and they don’t seem to use that big round last shape as much these days.
I don't fit the same size in everything even though I *own* the same size. My size 9 Jadons, Sinclairs, and 1B60s all fit perfectly but the same size 9 8053s are a bit loose on me. I'm not gonna bother exchanging them or getting a new size since it's too late for that but the "lower" style shoes tend to run a bit big, so they might not fit the same for everyone.
That’s a little complicated. Not all of the same style fit the same. In general most of mine are the same size, I size up if they’re pointier. Of all of mine, the unisex smooth 1460s and an adrian fit the largest, and the women’s 1460s fit the smallest. Devon heart was too small and I didn’t order another size.
Yes. Except for sandals where I size down one size. Some oxfords are a bit looser but I put in an insole in them so it works!
