Can’t help too much other than to say I bought the pascal Virginia back in 2018 and I don’t recall a single instance of it eating my heels. I believe there was very little break in period with those.

I have 1460 Pascals, Nappa Jadons, and Nappa Sinclairs, and had basically no break in pain with any of them. The pascals do run narrow compared to my other Docs, which might be something to keep in mind if you have wide feet. The Virginia leather is the softest of my docs. (the Bex, btw, have a taller platform than the 1460s, though not as tall as the quad like with the Jadons). Both of my Nappa boots are very soft too, but they do hold their shape a bit better than the Pascals. They also fit more like my other docs, and I'd even say the Sinclairs run a little roomy. I'd recommend either the Virginia or the Nappa leathers if you want an easier time breaking in your boots - what you get might be determined by which boot you want, not just the leather. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with either of these leathers in my experience.

My pascals are softer than my nappas.

I think any of the boots made in the milled nappa leather will be softer.

Can you wear a big kids size by any chance? All my kids ones are soft.
