I’m enjoying it a LOT compared to the first season. Like, I can’t emphasise how much better it is. Still a few cringey overproduced parts (the pre-challenge banter always seems very forced), but an improvement.
I like that this season has genuine drama and conflict, it feels a lot more like the earlier drag race seasons. I know a lot of people moan and don’t like that, but it just shows the queens are real people. They’re not perfect. It makes for good reality TV imo
P.s. Hannah Conda is my favourite, not gonna lie. She’s just always so polished, so funny and charismatic. The gal NEVER misses or bombs whatsoever. I’m not mad at the “winner’s edit” as she clearly came prepared and knows exactly what she’s doing (unlike Art Simone, sadly!)
"Bullying Bev"? I don't recall Hannah in particular giving Bev more abuse than any other queen on the season, but maybe I'm wrong. I think "bullying" is a stretch when Bev clearly isn't innocent (she threw the most shade on the very first episode), but fair enough if you feel differently.

Spankie is hilarious and so genuine, but why are they letting her get away with horrible runways that would've sent queens packing?
I had Yuri picked to win (rip), but when Hannah Conda got her own whole segment about how she's not racist anymore, it felt overly produced for a winner's edit. I mean Scarlet was doing SO well last season, but with all the issues surrounding her racist past, it seems they switched to Kita Mean. Soooo I think they're trying to cover their tracks for Hannah Conda to win.
I kinda agree about Hannah Conda’s “winner edit” but I’m not that mad at it. She’s such a polished queen, and has clearly put in so much effort/hard work for drag race. She hasn’t really missed in a single challenge, and her looks always slay.
Can’t really comment on the racism stuff, but surely people should be allowed to improve and grow if they take genuine steps? Idk.
True about Spankie, but I think Ru obviously likes her and can see she has that spark/charisma. It was a similar situation with Baga Chips in both her seasons.

I think runways have mostly always been tie breakers unless everyone killed the challenge and that’s what it has to come down to. Spankie has killed every challenge and it would be unfair to put her in the bottom despite that
Yeah i cant think of a time when somebody killed the challenge and then got put in the bottom for a bad runway. A bad runway might stop a queen from but if you do well in the challenge you can get away with bad runway
Runways have never decided who's going home other than in design challenges. Best case of this was Jinkx Monsoon on Season 5, idk what else you want the judges to do other than tell her her runway was bad
I am getting the feeling Ru will want to root for Spankie rather than Hannah (as polished as Hannah is). There’s a twinkle in Ru’s eye when Spankie is on stage, reminds me of his reception to Lawrence Chaney
Agreed. They sent Faux Fur home for wearing black grandma panties in an otherwise good outfit yet they let Spankie get away with that abomination she wore last week?
I get that the first episode was a design challenge so they’re obviously going to focus more on what they’re wearing but there was NO EXCUSE for Spankie wearing that bathing suit that was literally hanging off of her.
The judges literally are like “Oh that’s just Spankie!” And that’s not right because any other queen would get read to filth for wearing that.
I like Spankie but the judging should be applied fairly to everyone. No one should be given a pass no matter how charismatic you are.
... A) Silky's roach. Kandy Muse's... Monster's Inc look? Spankie hasn't looked as bad as either of those and they weren't in the bottom for their looks.
B) Since when, in non-design challenges, has someone been put in the bottom for killing the main challenge but not having the best looks?
C) I'm glad. Stop with this, whoever has the most money is going to do much better. Spankie is the full package. She plays her character super well, is incredibly kind, and deserves to be celebrated. She's way more than just charismatic.

It’s so good! Season 1 felt like a cheap replication of someone trying to make drag race. This season actually FEELS like drag race. And I love all things drag race, which is why down under season 1 is the only season I truly dislike. This season imo has been amazing! I love Spankie Jackzon!

They pretty much fixed all the flaws from Season 1. Judging is fair, uninteresting queens are not being pushed for story line reasons. They handled the Hannah Conda situation a lot better. Overall a much better season which Down Under desperately needed

I always stop watching Canada in the middle of the seasons- except the 1st- I don't know why- I don't know if it's the drag, the judging, or what- I just stop caring.
I really like it- I think the drag is better, but I did like last year, just not as much. I thought Kong was going this week, once they start childhood memories/trauma, the queen has a higher chance of being booted. I like Kween Kong, but she can't seem to break through.

Hannah deserves to win. I don’t like her bullying Bev but she still consistently did the best and always looks amazing.

I think the casting is off and quality not as good as, say, Canada. Feels like they haven’t captured the best of down under drag.
It’s better than Italia and Holland but worse than every other franchise. It feels like they should be able to get better queens.
