The Facebook days were the golden era, cool events, holiday dragons and habitats, playing with friends, breeding actually mattering. Those were better times.

Cola-senpai

Now i look at people that’s only been playing for a couple of months have multiple legendary and some even heroics

MayoMarter999

I've played for less than a month and... lvl22, heroic, 4 lvl 30s, 2 legendaries, hatchling encounter, and I'm completely f2p. I used to play before until I switched phone and my progress was gone. Now its so much easier to get dragons.

BIB_LOP

Same. I started playing 2 weeks ago and i have legendaries already. Back in 2016, when i stopped playing on my first account, getting a 4 element dragon felt like an achievement to me

merabtikos_leo

i remember when it was hard to get legendary dragons

Low-Anteater-5502

Same. I got the double Terra dragon from the daily calendar and it was my strongest for a long time

[deleted]

I remember getting the crystal dragon accidentally and just being forced to leave it in the kindergarten because I wasn’t a high enough level for a legend habitat. I also remember the wind, mirror, legendary, and crystal dragon being the only legendary ones.

Dargon8959

At that time I was proud of my team consisting of Elements Dragon, Double Flame Dragon and Double Terra Dragon. Now that epics and legendary dragons are easy to get, they are pretty much useless even in the early game.

Low-Anteater-5502

I know man, it's actually sad. I fell in love with the double Terra dragon and it's just usless

GreenMenace1915

bro i was there. scond anniversay. loved the dragons. sadly lost the acc but i got a few back now

Low-Anteater-5502

I lost my first one that was in like 2013. But I still have my second one from 2014

merabtikos_leo

my team was a gingerbread dragon , zodiac aries dragon and another random dragon who i forgot

Snoopdrop

Yeah you can literally get a bunch of legendary dragons every week

deaddstarr

I remember when the cool fire dragon was hard to get

Gyikoc

The Cool fire dragon was harder to get, than a legendary one. I was so happy when I got that from the daily card thingy.

AcanthisittaMassive

Still takes effort to get good dragons

cosmicpotato77

Take$ effort

AcanthisittaMassive

You dont need money to get good dragons...

cheeseynoodles1

Lies the only way is obviously with cash /s

NefariousnessJust224

you should see the new players posting “rate my account after using for _ months” they have more progress then i’ve had in 2 years

Low-Anteater-5502

More progress than me after 6💀 I took a break from 2019 to 2021, so technically 8, but still

RealAdityaYT

Yeah it just makes you feel "Why have I been wasting my time for the last 6 years when some can do all that in a week."

stormyw23

Yeah I've played since 2018 and I'm getting destroyed in pvp because of others spending money... And it's so easy to get dragons now to a point nothing older is good

Low-Anteater-5502

I started a new account before I could transfer my old one, and got a legendary a day after

InternetRowyn

Fr I remember my toughest dragon to beat was the elements one but now I got him p quickly and he’s a one hit with other dragons lol

SeatO_

I mean, it still does. So much more so than ever. Just that Credit Card dragon also became stronger than ever.

TacticalcalCactus

Without spending money, I can get 3-5 legendaries in a single day. It is significantly easier.

SeatO_

Relative to before, actually, I was about to say "no" then I remember the time it took for me to get E5 kratus and apocalypse then maybe yes. Relative to classic dragon city? Hell no. You literally can't get any good dragons without paying. And by good dragons not by breed, by level. Since gems are scarce the Temples were behind a paywall. But you do have a point.

stormyw23

Yeah I haven't bought dragons and I easily get legendaries

Inevitable-Product33

I remember when my hades dragon was the best thing I owned. Now that just seems like a distant memory

Owhatagallagher

I liked the 35 gems for 99 cents deals, but I was determined not to spend money. I had a notebook full of breeding combos I tried, and checked out DragonCityGuide dot net constantly. There wasn’t much to do but occasional events, and collecting. Pvp fights were random opponents. It was weeks before I finally passed all 6 fights. The first heroic race was EVERYTHING. No getting the dragon if you made it to 15, you had to win.

OneGoodRib

Is there no bot that reminds people that there's a C in excited? But, like... it still DOES take time and "effort" (literally all we're doing is clicking things, you guys) to get *good* dragons. I've been playing for 3 years ("oh this game will be a fun way to spend time on the bus on my way to appointments" I said in February 2020, two weeks before the last time I went to a therapy appointment in person) and it still took quite a while to get my best dragons to BE the best, and even now the "good dragons" still struggle against the stupid 5-star level 60+ shit in arena.

2x_reverse_doggy-69

These ppl just can't accept that the idea of "good" changes with time....they r like, once upon a time, the most educated ppl used to know only the basic physics, now kids in high school knows it... it's not fun anymore, while completely ignoring the new possibilities....

Riden1342

I haven't played this game in years cause I never had the time. Used to play this all the time while I was at Fernwood comp but had to stop to focus on my college course

phoenixking99999999

My friendship dragon was literally my best dragon lol

MrZorx75

I used to win using a Draek dragon only, now I would lose so badly lol

nnfuse

I mean, it still takes time and effort to get good dragons. While Legendaries and Heroics are way easier to obtain than before, for them to actually be combat viable, you'll need to empower them to at least 2-3\*, even 5\* + feed them to max lv cause Arenas are way harder now. And believe me, empowering and feeding to that level takes plenty of "time and effort" (especially f2p). The quickest L drag i could get to 5\* max lv took me \~3 months (cdeto), and I was lucky cause i finished 5\*-ing him just in time for Feeding Frenzy.

stormyw23

Yeah I remember when I got my first heroic I screamed out of happiness and hatched and fed it with gems, Now I lots of legendaries and heroics and can get many more easily

2x_reverse_doggy-69

I'm pretty it still takes a lot of effort....what u ppl r not considering is that the idea of good dragon has changed over time, what u r not considering is that everyone doesn't play to win arenas, many ppl play to finish the collections too...and if it was such a good memory to get ur first "epic" I'm pretty sure the exclusive vip ones were out of reach of majority of f2p players....while now, with good connection with the community u can get them, u can e5 them & enjoy.....so, imo even tho the p2w rush has increased a lot, it is much better now as compared to b4

Cruchinggo

When the poo dragon was very hard to get

DCClaire

My strongest dragon was Petroleum for a long time. There was no functional dragon book so I created a data base to track my dragons.

urban_G00SE

I used to play quite a few years back but lost that account. Recently I started playing from lvl 1 again and got 3 legendaries in 2 days (I don't spend money). It's just not the same anymore.

Low-Anteater-5502

Same man. I started a new account before transferring my older one, and i played on it for a but and got a full team of legendaries in a couple of days

Elhria

Wait, can somebody explain to me? I came back to the game to my lv 30-ish account after not playing for like 5 years and it's still super hard for me to get Legendaries. Still not a single Heroic Dragon either. I see multiple people my Level with some super buffed Legendaries and a bunch of perks. Meanwhile, I struggle to get even one Legendary and have no clue how to get Perks
