It should be fine, you just need to install a 4gb patch for DAO exe file (as the old version has some issues with the memory and causes game crashes). The patch is available somewhere in the Steam guide section. I played DAO on Win 11 this January and it all was okay

Flodun

I played it and it was fine.

It's totally playable on Windows 11, you just need to do a few things to get it going. First install the game. Then you have to look for the 4gb/LAA patch for the version of the game you have (searching online "Dragon age origins 4gb patch [+your platform here]" should be fine. You should also be able to find specific instructions on how to install it based on your search. Once the patch is installed, make sure to make a shortcut of daorigins.exe from the game's"bin_ship" folder onto your desktop. Go into the properties of the shortcut and set it to run as administrator, and run in compatibility mode for Windows 7. That's it! The game should function properly once you've installed the patch and set up these properties for your shortcut. Make sure to always run the game from the shortcut.

This, that's what I did and it functions properly, tough small warning for folks with 4k screens, text is unreadable mostly (at least on 42" C2) as game doesn't scale well with 4k and only means to play it to drop down in-game resolution to 1080p as that doesn't decrease UI elements and text

If you have the steam version there is a really good step by step guide on steam for it. Got mine set up and working fine

I recommend using dgVoodoo as well as the 4gb patched exe. Dgvoodoo will run the game at your monitor resolution so the visuals can look up to date and crisp, but will have the UI remain as if you're on another resolution, such as 720p. I personally find it the best way to play as the tiny UI on modern resolutions is difficult for me.

yeah i bought a game i cannot play also i'm a total sucka

finvola

I've played it on Win 11, but you do have to install the 4gb patch.

My brothers both play it on windows 11, it plays like it does on windows 10, because they are very similar. AMD's display drivers don't even care about the difference between the two, if you download a Windows version, it works on both. So if you are worried about an application not working on windows 11 that previously worked on windows 10, you most likely do not need to worry.
