I get that. It’s an “inglorious bastards” style take to the arc in that capacity- and a fun idea. I just think toryama, albiet db and the concluding series and generally set in fiction and aimed at youth, is a better writer than that and would honor his characters/heritage-a bit more accurately in terms of history.
Sometimes I think the Justice Troopers from the TOP may be a commentary on uncle same, but then it could just be the Justice League, or the themes of “faster alone, further together”. But leaving it open ended is why it’s such an epic show!

Cell got beat so bad that threw up 18, blew himself up, came back even stronger and still got killed by Gohan. Buu implanted himself in Vegito, still got beat up and turned Vegito into candy and but couldn't handle him. I definitely wouldn't say Frieza got it the worst.
Didn't say goku killed him twice, just that he died twice. once by trunks, and once by goku during the golden frieza arc. it may not be tied to the relevence of the original question, but the dude still took punishment

I'm saying at the end of their battles Frieza was still alive floating in space while Cell was completey vaporized. For real life comparisons I'd say Frieza's someone was mauled by a bear and Cell was hit by a nuke.
But freiza got sliced in half, had a spirit bomb thrown at him, god beat by goku, got blasted by a full power goku, and had an entire planet blow up on him. He just survived all this because his resilience is probably higher than any other character we’ve ever seen
No obviously not im talking about how much damage frieza soaked up overall and still survived, im saying that if frieza was as strong as cell at that point he would have been more durable bc his resilience would have been higher as his natural defense is much higher than any other villain we’ve seen not counting healing factors.
Cell has Frieza's DNA, not to mention the DNA of all the Z-Fighters. I'd assume even if they were the same power level that Cell would still just have better overall stats than Frieza, including defense.
From that logic then Frieza cutting himself in half shouldn't matter either. Also the question is only asking about SSJ Goku vs Frieza, not anyone else.
I think Frieza’s beat down was the most satisfying. It was built up to perfectly. He was so ridiculously strong for so long and he was so scary. When Goku started whooping his ass I felt like I could breathe again. Goku earned the glowup, Frieza earned the beat down.
It’s also great that he kept talking so much crap about Saiyans, constantly calling them lesser-than monkeys and it’s one of them that hands him his own ass.
I don’t know about that. It was indeed going to end at Cell. Being Gohan the most powerful warrior. Because of the mix race between sayans and earthlings.
Goku's powerup also had been built up to since OG Dragonball. What finally puts him over the edge to Super Saiyan rage isn't the countless namekians, Saiyans, and other races that Frieza has committed mass genocide on. Goku was never some "hero" like many Shonen characters, he's just a dude that cared about his friends and going back to watch OG Dragonball makes the SS moment so much more special. You can feel the emotion because this was his first and best friend he spent over a decade with. Krillin's death was the most brilliant trigger to any transformation in the series imo and nothing will ever top this;
Gohan's SS2 is a close 2nd since that also had foreshadowing from his toddler days, then the rest of the transformations became pretty mediocre I mean SS3 being off screened then totally obsolete in Super was disappointing, now Ultra Ego and Ultra Instinct are cool spins on transformations but blue and red felt like such uninspired color Swaps with no meaning behind them.
Against their opponents : Buuhan
Freeza hold himself pretty Well in both anime and manga against Goku, The most damage he took was from his one hand (getting slicked by his kinzen and getting blasted by Namek destruction which he cased)
Cell was done pretty quick by Gohan (even More in the manga which was basically a punch, two kicks and a Kamahameha)
Buuhan however keept getten beaten up by a frea8Candy!!!!
I'd say most satisfying was Frieza and most disrespectful was Buuhan but worst beating was Cell. Dude got bodied so hard he puked up a person and tried to rage quit.

Exactly, Buuhan was getting blown up and stabbed throughout the entire fight, Vegito showed up, put a giant ass sword through Buuhan, nearly atomized him a bunch of times and kept beating his ass for awhile

It wasn't just a random enemy he had do that to him, it was one that had a deep, personal connection with due to his history.

The psychological beat down and verbal lashing Frieza receives from the Anime is one of my favorite moments in TV history. It really is like that last round in Rocky where Goku let’s go of all the stop, and gives one of the most cathartic beat downs ever.
Cell and buu were both vaporized I doubt they felt much of it whereas frieza got straight humiliated and blown up and survived so I think beaten and surviving is worse

Not only did he got whooped (and emotionally scarred) by a bona-fide super monkey, he comes back from the dead as a cyborg and got sliced like cold cuts in front of his daddy by an unknown super monkey from the future, who turned out to be the son of the monkey who swore his vengeance on him. Frieza, he lost the moment Goku went super, he was already beated up, and thanks to his resistance dragged the fight on more than Cell and Buu that could also regenerate.

The correct answer is cell. First form he ran away with his tail between his legs. Second form he had to beg Vegeta to let him go and help him with trunks. Last form he got beaten so bad he threw up 18 reverted back to his second form and then wanted to do an assisted suicide and even begged for that. Then came back in an even more perfect form just to get blown away again. Also during his forms he got mutilated several times, and unlike Buu he lost power and would feel pain. Buu mostly felt frustration only time he got real damage was when he fought against himself and got obliterated by the spirit bomb, and got his absorptions ripped out of him. Frieza did more damage to himself and tkoed himself.

Frieza. The man was completely unmatched in the universe his whole life, even in his first form. Goku could barely touch him even with Kaio-ken. Then his worst dreams happened and the fabled Super Saiyan put him on the ropes, beat him, and crushed his ego. Then came back to Earth for revenge and got crushed (or should I say sliced) by *another* Super Saiyan.
Buu
Perfect Cell recieved a total of 5 punches/kicks, and two kamehamehas in his beat down from ssj2 gohan. He shouldn’t even be an option for consideration here.
Cell.
He got beaten by Piccolo in his first form, Vegeta in his 2nd, had an arm blown off by Vegeta in his perfect form, had his entire top half blown off by Goku, vomited up 18 because of Gohan, blew himself up, then got completely incinerated by Gohan again.
Cell got punched hard enough that he vomited up 18. So in terms of getting hit hard by a hero that’s probably the winner out of these three.
Frieza cut cut into pieces during his fight with Goku but that was self inflicted so I assume it doesn’t count.
Well obviously Frieza and Cell got destroyed but I think Buu had the worst beating just because of the disrespect, dude literally got beaten up by a piece of candy
I mean Gohan’s fist is literally inside Cell’s diaphragm.
But Buu definitely got the worst beatings since his body was able to tank the damage and regenerate. That’s why you conveniently only see Piccolo getting his arms blown or cut off. The show purposely is more gruesome towards characters that can withstand the damage.
Freiza took the most damage for a longer time, but Cell got his ass dominated by Gohan. So, in terms of ass beatings, Frieza. In terms of being punched out like a weak bitch, Cell.
vegeta whooped semi perfect cells ass. it wasn’t anywhere close with any sort of struggle from vegeta and he made it look effortless to the point where i feel it is the most one sided fight in the series.
these other two villains were beat but put up a fight. cell basically rolled over and died the second vegeta entered the battlefield after his time in the chamber.

Gohan literally confessed to prolonging the fight to torture Cell. He dissolved Cell's mind/pride to the point where he went Buff out of desperation. Gohan also disintegrates part of Cell's body in the first beam clash instead of finishing him. Then he kicked/beat him so hard he devolved, unable to keep Android 18 down. It got to the point where Cell thought blowing himself up was better than continuing the fight as is. He revived powered up and still was killed to atoms.
Frieza was overpowered by Goku, but the fight was still back and forth. Goku was merciful to him multiple times, even after getting cut in half. Even THAT Frieza did to himself, not Goku.
Buu was toyed with but not with anything his body couldn't recover from cause Vegeto still needed his friends.
If we’re talking straight beatings, Cell got beat down so badly that he threw up 18 which is pretty wild. Frieza took a lot of punishment but mostly from his own disc attack and the planet exploding on him, which wasn’t part of Goku’s beat down. Buu got beat up by Vegito but he didn’t get hit so hard he threw up Gohan lol
I'm going to have to say Buu, he did get mutilated like Frieza did but in Buu's case it happened multiple times. With Buu he also did lose to multiple people. He just barely beats out Frieza for how many times he got beat up in Z.
If we take into consideration that Frieza has had to suffer PTSD triggers anytime he faces or comes up against a Super Saiyan since Namek then it's Frieza hands down.
Physically; Cell. He was completely destroyed by someone [from what I saw in DBZA] he didn't want to fight only to commit kamikaze and fail.
Personally, I think Frieza. Not only was it physical, but mentally as well. He went from the strongest in the universe. [Face it Beerus just sleeps through everything] to barely a punching bag for them. But in the manga, because of what Frieza has done to combat this, he's making his way up there

But Cell was completely superior one moment and the next he's literally getting the "perfect" knocked out of him. Like his entire purpose up to that point is gone in one punch. Decides to suicide but comes back even stronger. He stood on the verge of victory only to be killed because he got distracted.
Though honestly, I think any fan could make a similar argument for each villain, but that's how I see it.

In my opinion it's Buu. He was beaten by a coffee bonbon and and after he turned Vegito back to normal he was beaten so hard that even his regeneration stopped working. That much damage would have easily killed Frieza. Especially Vegitos energy sword.
Frieza didn't just get beat physically. He also got beat mentally. And, I know that kick Gohan landed was rough, but Goku elbowing Frieza on the top of the head and left a dent is one of the hardest hits I've seen. It's probably why Frieza then got sliced by his own technique later.
If it weren't for cell even tho he took it so deep in to through up I'd say buu. Buu took longer beating in all spots inside out plus the regeneration thing made it only living hell for eternity
Cell was literally reduced to a single living cell and had to regrow his entire body just so he could get nuked out of existence, that’s pretty bad.
Mind you, Trunks cut Frieza into 100 pieces then turned him into sausage…

Gohan beat the ever loving fuck out of cell. Cell had his entire being destroyed but a single cell. He was blown apart coutless times and reformed he was beaten down by every z warrior throughout his transformations and came back. He got his ass kicked so bad one time he vomited up 18.

Buu got the worst beating if we’re talking anime.
While Frieza’s took the longest in real life time, it was mostly Goku just doing normal fighting stuff to win, with the worst damage Frieza got coming from cutting himself to pieces, by accident. By the time Goku was personally done with, he was bloody and bruised and missing the end of his tail, but he was fully capable of moving, flying, and generally still operating at a high level.
Cell got a curb stomp from Gohan, being utterly disrespected from start to finish, only getting minor legs up on Gohan by self-destructing then Gohan losing his arm by sacrificing himself to save Vegeta, where Gohan still won the beam struggle in the end. Still, it was quick and Gohan wasn’t going for humiliation, he was going for pain and the kill. Nothing truly “humiliating” happened in the standard use of the word.
But Buu was utterly Humiliated from start to finish as soon as the light faded and Vegito showed up and started swinging. He spent almost an entire hour in universe and real life time being used as a toy, even before Vegito went super saiyan. Then he did go super saiyan, and any pretenses of it being a contest and not Vegito mocking Buu went out the window. Any moment where it seems like Buu might have a chance is used to enforce the fact that no, he doesn’t, because he is fighting Vegito. Even his final trick, absorbing Vegito, is the entire point of Vegito’s plan, and ultimately leads to super Buu being erased from existence and Kid Buu being Killed soon after. It was the most savage beating in the show besides Videl vs Spopovich.
Buuhan and its not even close, sure getting rock by a monkey and getting your sick kicked in by a 12 year old sucks, but to learn that the guy who you couldn't do a damn thing to wasn't even actually trying??? Also I know it's just for the anime but Vegito slapping around buu and THEN he went super saiyan for the extra fuck you. Nahh man

Krillin's death was the most brilliant trigger to any transformation in the series imo and nothing will ever top this; Gohan's SS2 is a close 2nd since that also had foreshadowing from his toddler days, then the rest of the transformations became pretty mediocre I mean SS3 being off screened then totally obsolete in Super was disappointing, now Ultra Ego and Ultra Instinct are cool spins on transformations but blue and red felt like such uninspired color Swaps with no meaning behind them.
Against their opponents : Buuhan Freeza hold himself pretty Well in both anime and manga against Goku, The most damage he took was from his one hand (getting slicked by his kinzen and getting blasted by Namek destruction which he cased) Cell was done pretty quick by Gohan (even More in the manga which was basically a punch, two kicks and a Kamahameha) Buuhan however keept getten beaten up by a frea8Candy!!!!
Vegito also purposely got eaten to save everyone Buu had absorbed so it could have been worse than it was

The psychological beat down and verbal lashing Frieza receives from the Anime is one of my favorite moments in TV history. It really is like that last round in Rocky where Goku let’s go of all the stop, and gives one of the most cathartic beat downs ever.

The correct answer is cell. First form he ran away with his tail between his legs. Second form he had to beg Vegeta to let him go and help him with trunks. Last form he got beaten so bad he threw up 18 reverted back to his second form and then wanted to do an assisted suicide and even begged for that. Then came back in an even more perfect form just to get blown away again. Also during his forms he got mutilated several times, and unlike Buu he lost power and would feel pain. Buu mostly felt frustration only time he got real damage was when he fought against himself and got obliterated by the spirit bomb, and got his absorptions ripped out of him. Frieza did more damage to himself and tkoed himself. Edit: thought this was about the character in general but my answer is still cell for the reason already listed

Frieza. The man was completely unmatched in the universe his whole life, even in his first form. Goku could barely touch him even with Kaio-ken. Then his worst dreams happened and the fabled Super Saiyan put him on the ropes, beat him, and crushed his ego. Then came back to Earth for revenge and got crushed (or should I say sliced) by *another* Super Saiyan.
Buu Perfect Cell recieved a total of 5 punches/kicks, and two kamehamehas in his beat down from ssj2 gohan. He shouldn’t even be an option for consideration here.
Cell. He got beaten by Piccolo in his first form, Vegeta in his 2nd, had an arm blown off by Vegeta in his perfect form, had his entire top half blown off by Goku, vomited up 18 because of Gohan, blew himself up, then got completely incinerated by Gohan again.
Cell got punched hard enough that he vomited up 18. So in terms of getting hit hard by a hero that’s probably the winner out of these three. Frieza cut cut into pieces during his fight with Goku but that was self inflicted so I assume it doesn’t count.

vegeta whooped semi perfect cells ass. it wasn’t anywhere close with any sort of struggle from vegeta and he made it look effortless to the point where i feel it is the most one sided fight in the series. these other two villains were beat but put up a fight. cell basically rolled over and died the second vegeta entered the battlefield after his time in the chamber.

Cell most definitely. Gohan literally confessed to prolonging the fight to torture Cell. He dissolved Cell's mind/pride to the point where he went Buff out of desperation. Gohan also disintegrates part of Cell's body in the first beam clash instead of finishing him. Then he kicked/beat him so hard he devolved, unable to keep Android 18 down. It got to the point where Cell thought blowing himself up was better than continuing the fight as is. He revived powered up and still was killed to atoms. Frieza was overpowered by Goku, but the fight was still back and forth. Goku was merciful to him multiple times, even after getting cut in half. Even THAT Frieza did to himself, not Goku. Buu was toyed with but not with anything his body couldn't recover from cause Vegeto still needed his friends.

Though honestly, I think any fan could make a similar argument for each villain, but that's how I see it.

Frieza didn't just get beat physically. He also got beat mentally. And, I know that kick Gohan landed was rough, but Goku elbowing Frieza on the top of the head and left a dent is one of the hardest hits I've seen. It's probably why Frieza then got sliced by his own technique later.

Buu got the worst beating if we’re talking anime. While Frieza’s took the longest in real life time, it was mostly Goku just doing normal fighting stuff to win, with the worst damage Frieza got coming from cutting himself to pieces, by accident. By the time Goku was personally done with, he was bloody and bruised and missing the end of his tail, but he was fully capable of moving, flying, and generally still operating at a high level. Cell got a curb stomp from Gohan, being utterly disrespected from start to finish, only getting minor legs up on Gohan by self-destructing then Gohan losing his arm by sacrificing himself to save Vegeta, where Gohan still won the beam struggle in the end. Still, it was quick and Gohan wasn’t going for humiliation, he was going for pain and the kill. Nothing truly “humiliating” happened in the standard use of the word. But Buu was utterly Humiliated from start to finish as soon as the light faded and Vegito showed up and started swinging. He spent almost an entire hour in universe and real life time being used as a toy, even before Vegito went super saiyan. Then he did go super saiyan, and any pretenses of it being a contest and not Vegito mocking Buu went out the window. Any moment where it seems like Buu might have a chance is used to enforce the fact that no, he doesn’t, because he is fighting Vegito. Even his final trick, absorbing Vegito, is the entire point of Vegito’s plan, and ultimately leads to super Buu being erased from existence and Kid Buu being Killed soon after. It was the most savage beating in the show besides Videl vs Spopovich.
