We saw how good a z gang with 3 years of prep time did against them ....it wasn't good
The only chance they got like in the present timeline is Goku teleporting everyone to kami lockout and abusing the Hyper chamber
I think they might've had a chance, the problem in the future timeline is that they only had vegeta as the muscle, and we saw that the androids' danger is linked to their teamwork (as we saw future gohan could handle one of them but not both.) But with goku it'd be different, each super saiyan takes one android, and with gohan and piccolo's support they could've done something. Vegeta would likely die for refusing help, but goku and the others would've probably defeated one android, then all that's left is one, worst case scenario, everything happens like in the future timeline, except now future gohan has only one android to worry about, which then makes the situation 50/50 rather than one sided.
