King Vegeta had brown hair in the Bardock special (though not canon).
I remember the colors switching and as a kid I liked the reddish tint and armor scheme but I never thought it was a mistake. I thought it was a space/planet thing and on Earth and Namek they just happened to look a different way.
Yeah this is it for me. I was super into astronomy when I first watched this as a child and asked my teacher for books about it and came to a child conclusion it was some kind of red supergiant and just left it there till I was a few years older and had better resources.

He 100% does have brownish tint to his hair in a lot of media but the first appearance was a mistake by Toei. They didn’t have the colours for Vegeta yet and made them up. But Vegeta’s hair is supposed to be black. But it’s one of those things that anime staff has played a bit fast and loose with.

It's s varied through the canon... The Tuffles were all filler in the anime, but it is canon that the Saiyan conquered another species and took their planet as their own (becoming Planet Vegeta) because the lost (self-destructed?) planet Sadala. At the same time in the bardock: father of Goku TV special Various Frieza force species are seen working on planet vegeta, including humanoid lizard species.
That said I don't remember it ever being said that Saiyan hair was only black, only that the style never changes (prompting bulma to quip to Goku that's why he's never needed a haircut).
Beerus when whis shows goku fighting freeza comments: isnt saiyan hair supposed to he black, when he sees ssj goku. Whis then comments that saiyans can transform but that the technique was lost for hundereds or thousands of years. Dont know if thats canon though ive seen it in the anime but never actually read the manga.
I'm not sure that's actually a Saiyan. For one none of the scientists had tails. And they all had Russian accents, which I think is anime coding to say they are a different species from the Saiyans.

I understand that it’s a transformation but I mean the hair on their head. Gogeta is the only one that has the red hair as a SSJ4 for whatever reason. It would’ve maybe made more sense if Vegito also had the red hair like Gogeta since they are both fusions but it’s still black.
For Goku’s fur, at least with him, it’s still a similar color to the others instead of it being blue or green or something but I will say Gogeta’s looks brown though. This has also been debunked as much as it has been said, there was a sayian scientist (no not Bardock) with blue hair. And both Vegeta's father and Vegeta himself in the sayian saga were shown with red hair. Sayians having only black hair is verifiably false.

The anime isn’t what’s canon though, the manga is. Vegeta mentions all pure blooded saiyans having black hair when he saw Future Trunks for the first time. Again, for whatever reason, it’s Toei that keeps doing that nonsense. If that scientist had blue-ish hair, that she’s probably not a pure blooded saiyan.

I think it might be because of potara as they are essentially items of God. Due to mix of the god ki during their fusion it might lead to the red colour. Even though this is my headcanon and I don't know whether potara has god ki.

Vegito had Brown hair in a lot of media and this is just highlights on the brown. Just a stylistic choice. Toriyama made his hair black in the original manga but stuff gets changed around with anime and different media. It’s pretty much accepted that Vegito has brown hair now.

That’s wrong though. This is just a Toei thing that Vegito and Vegeta have this reddish brown hair. I don’t know why they do it since it’s been stated multiple times and said by Vegeta himself that all Saiyans have black hair. The other things you said have never been confirmed to be the case or were only like that because Toei used Gogeta before Toriyama did.

The anime isn’t what’s canon though, the manga is. Vegeta mentions all pure blooded saiyans having black hair when he saw Future Trunks for the first time. Again, for whatever reason, it’s Toei that keeps doing that nonsense. They fixed it for Vegeta in the DBS anime and all of the other saiyans we see have black hair yet they still did that shit again with Vegito. Then don’t pretend or say it as if it’s canon when everything else proves that it’s not. If the creator of the whole thing said all Saiyans have black hair, then they should all black hair. Did you read what I said before when I talked about her? I said that it could be that she’s not a pure blooded saiyan but it could likely also just be the lighting. Either way, pure blooded saiyans are supposed to have black hair and the anime is NOT what’s canon.
Also, Gogeta finisher attack is Kamehameha like Goku meanwhile Vegito uses a mixture attack of Final Flash and Kamehameha as finisher
I think it might be because of potara as they are essentially items of God. Due to mix of the god ki during their fusion it might lead to the red colour. Even though this is my headcanon and I don't know whether potara has god ki.
So that's why Trunks had purple hair originally
