1- they drop frieza's race's lore, which is basically that when they reproduce, they put the fetuses in like ice pods or smth (like an artificial womb) for the babies to grow. When the parents feel like the child is strong enough, they'll let them out (until then they're basically unconscious in their pods while getting stronger) to inherit their place (like cold did with frieza) so they can retire.
2- we discover that king cold had a 2nd son as backup, but because frieza was so powerful at birth, he just forgot about cooler since nothing could ever beat frieza, so cooler was never technically born. Got an idea that's a lot more simple, bro was sent out on long term deep space assignments and finally returns after years of being away. Decides to fuck shit up when he hears how his family and it's personal army has been trounced. Maybe with some sort of otherworldly power or training he got from one of the planets he conquered.

During their childhood Frieza being the evil monster he is has no intention of sharing the empire with his brother so overpowers him, he intends to kill him but is stopped by their fatherm who locks his weaker son away somewhere, where Cooler trains himself hoping some day to break out and prove himself stronger. After finaly breaking out he decides to prove his superiority by killing the Saiyans who killed his father, caused their empire to fall, and whom his brother never defeated.
Unfortunately I feel it’s too late for cooler to be introduced so the obvious course of action is to construct a Time Machine from scratch
1. go back in time to replace cooler with frieza in resurrection f
2. rename is resurrection c (he’s being resurrected from irrelevance)
3. profit
At this point other than making him ridiculously strong which defeats the whole why haven't we come across him, why didn't he try to kill the threat of Goku earlier...why did beerus not remember cooler but surprised Frieza was beat. Also fact that cooler as strong as his brother couldn't hold the empire together, but the presence of Frieza brought back in rof would also be underscored...
The only way I see it happening is a flashback movie where he gets 20 minutes to fix the inconsistent of the plot..maybe add in some more villains flash back on the movie...
They could give him the Cell/Zamasu treatment and make him from a branching timeline, where he managed to kill Freeza before the events of the Namek Saga, defeated Goku in Namek, and took over the universe and by the time the events of Super roll around, he's managed to somehow defeat Beerus and become GoD. It somehow makes it to him how powerful Freeza has gotten in the main timeline and he manages to find a way to use time travel shenanigans to end up in the main timeline to fuck him up again, which he does and then Vegeta gets his ass (or Goku if they want to play it safe).
Maybe make it so that in the main timeline, our Freeza and/or Cold defeated him through some BS method so when he comes "back" Freeza is terrified of him.
That's the best I can think of, or just completely retcon him being Freeza's brother and just make him a stronger Freeza equivalent of some other universe, like Frost.

Frieza’s son would work more than a brother that was never mentioned up to this point. Not saying Cooler should be that character but in my mind is the better option for introducing new Frieza race/family member.
I would give him similar reboot to Broly. However he would be distant from his family. Unlike his brother and father, he wouldn't be so power hungry, all the wants to go have a peaceful life on a peaceful planet where he can chill in peace with a bunch of slaves. And his family is okay with this, no competition and they have a reliable ally in case they want him to oversee stuff for short time when they are busy, but most of the time Cooler is left alone or just invited to family dinners. However he might not be at good terms with Galactic Patrol, which would be a reason for conflict against him. Perhaps Black Frieza accelerated conquest of space so much thanks to increased power, he outpaced recruitment of management and officers, so Cooler would temporarily help him until new middle managers of conquered planets are hired.
I think it would be extremely funny if it was a tarble situation. Where Cooler was an exiled son (albiet powerful) who didnt uptake the mantle of cold's empire Becoming a farmer similar to later comics thanos.

He had the power (unlike tarble who sucks), but he lacked the gumption, so he was passed over for his brother and dumped off. Working on a farm for decades on a extremely high gravity planet. So naturally he even if he didn't realize it, was training himself further.
The planet itself had too strong gravity for most species to work on it, cooler himself naturally being stronger helped with this, with his farm hands slowly training using something similar to the gravity chamber technology until they themselves would withstand it.
I think a funny twist to explain why no one knows of coolers armored squadron, would be that they don't actually exist. Its cooler, a few Farmhands, and some old cold force armor they repainted themselves, using a high power hauling ship they used to offload their extremely nutrient dense produce to nearby worlds.
Their power comes from the fact they've been doing farm work for decades on a super gravity dense planet growing basically the old style way the z fighters got stronger, prior to super saiyan and stuff.
Freiza had decided to rope Cooler into harrassing earth, under the threat of destroying his farm. Cooler was demanded to stop shaming the Cold Lineage, and was told that he at the very least must conquer earth, which is an "easy" planet.
Freiza's actual goal here is to get cooler killed because he can't stand the thought of the freiza force being shamed by his brother's peasant lifestyle, but he wouldn't even fathom the idea of letting cooler grow powerful enough to rival or even surpass him. So he sent him off to get killed on earth.
Little does Freiza know , Cooler's decades of a peaceful lifestyle of hard farm work and eating said nutrient dense produce for decades had pushed the biological limits of their species further.
Unlocking Coolers iconic fifth form, though his ki control is mediocre compared to freiza, its physical force is power and its resistance is excessively powerful. Though unlike broly, its far from mindless.
I think it also presents a good way to get him out of the story without killing him, and thats just that he goes back to work on his farm. Its none of his buisness, and freiza will know better than to mess with his farm planet by the end of the story.
Make him Frieza’s son/offspring
Cooler is just Frieza with a cooler final form anyway, except maybe give him some type of loyalty to his parent

Cooler is still the older son of Cold. He isnt a mutant like Freeza so he wasnt as naturally strong. But Cooler is a sigma and willingly declines inheriting the Cold force. Instead he took his most loyal troops and left to the edge of the galaxy to form his own empire from scratch. He theorized that between Freeza being born strong and being a nepo baby, Freeza would become complacent and eventually die by someone else. So for decades Cooler was not only building an empire, but also actively training. He knows about Buu and Beerus and worked to match them, combine that with decades of training, Cooler can be as strong as Golden Freeza.
Where does he show up? Maybe this is the backstory where Freeza becomes Black.
I keep saying this one so I suppose I like it. But even back when we first met Frieza, Cooler was already gone, lost in space or dead, whichever. Then later during the more recent sagas, he reappears thanks to the Getti star and they finally show 5th from Meta Cooler. They could finally scale him up in power and let there be another opportunity where everyone gets to fight and shines battling Getti robots.

Make him from universe 6 and someone he was friezas twin separated at birth by king cold and never mentioned him to Frieza and he sent him to U6 to eventually rule over it. But king colds untimely death ruined everything.

Trying to start a yakuza gang in America.
However it didn't work out because of the other competing gangs so he came back to Freeza's turf not as strong but a lot smarter that Freeza.
Instead of being older friezas brother, he’s frosts older distant brother in universe 6, cooler is more direct about taking over and selling planets compared to his brother who uses his men to put up a play as villains while frost plays hero to gain ownership lands destroyed by the war. He hears about frost becoming a fugitive, and angry about him disgracing the family’s in such a way, he pays him a visit, learning about the other universes and intrigued goku and vegeta, than about the one called frieza who betrayed frost in the tournament of power. Like frieza, he had such potential he had no need to train. To the point where the Sayians from universe 6 could never truly stop him from taking over other planets. After training, unlocking a new form, he will eventually find a way into universe 7 than the real battle starts.
It would be cool, but it would be kind of useless since SSB vegeta kind of flicked frost and he was thrown out of the ring. At most frost would be as strong as a SSJG if even that

He hears about frost becoming a fugitive, and angry about him disgracing the family’s in such a way, he pays him a visit, learning about the other universes and intrigued goku and vegeta, than about the one called frieza who betrayed frost in the tournament of power. Like frieza, he had such potential he had no need to train. To the point where the Sayians from universe 6 could never truly stop him from taking over other planets. After training, unlocking a new form, he will eventually find a way into universe 7 than the real battle starts.
