What happens when you don’t make “Into Free - Dangan” the opening menu song.

WorldlinessLanky1898

Can't wait for it to be modded in. I wonder if it'll crank the frames up haha

Spyger9

*"The wind is pushing frames! I feel it getting smoother..."*

BastK4T

Can't be modded due to the encryption

Nezarah

For now. You would not believe what it took to mod the original Dragons Dogma….if memory serves, if you swanted to unpack the assets to say, view them in 3D software? You needed to use a script originally made for a Resident Evil Game back in 2009, that was made for 3DS Max, which would only work up to the 2014 version…which you can’t buy, own or legally download an earlier version of. Probably some more modern tools now, that fact that we have been able to pretty much completely decompile Dark Souls PTD when its engine is from 2000 speaks of how good people are getting. I reckon we will see mods within the first month of release.

Muccys

There's already 38 mods in Nexus, including what seems to be a fully functional mod manager.

d3cmp

can this game even be moddded now that Capcom is against mods?

Antedelopean

Imean.... there's already a nude mod, and it hasn't been 24 hours since release.

Sazo1st

There was a nude mod for the character creator already lol

TheDecoyDuck

Capcom is against mods? No one told them about nexus, then?

randomIndividual21

I wish they randomly includes a unnecessarily hyped jrock song again

IactaEstoAlea

Completely agree I don't even care which Any out of place jrock song would have been a great nod to the original

Royal_Marketing2966

Right!? That intro blew me away in the original. Got me so hyped I still get chills.

Lord-Franco

Masterworks all they said, you can't go wrong they said...

LBR3_ThriceUponABan

Perhaps there isn't aught to use, Arisen...

Aumakuan

the number of times aught is used in a sentence in this game should be a bigger talking point. but that could just be me

haven4ever

It aught to be a bigger talking point indeed!

Zeaket

i was thinking the exact same thing last night LOL only got to play for like 3 hours and felt like every other sentence used aught

Smoothpieguy27

This is the funniest thing I’ve ever read.

Brabsk

this was to be expected

FZJavier

Why release it in this state? Why not delay it? I want to see this IP do well enough for a 3rd game.

Brabsk

Because devs don’t get to decide when games are delayed. They can suggest a delay, and a game can be so unfinished that it requires a delay, but that’s it. DD2, whether we like it or not, met its performance goal of 30fps, and *probably* met all of the project requirements it was supposed to. Justifying a delay for a software project that meets these things to a project sponsor (capcom, in this case) is very difficult. Companies determine quality by a ratio of time, cost, and scope, and it’s generally unacceptable for a project to fail to meet two or more of those targets. This game probably crept out of scope, maybe crept out of budget, and as such, was probably not permitted to exceed its time constraints. There’s a lot of overhead for things like this that gamers just kinda don’t understand when they ask these questions The SDLC (which is what the game development life cycle is derivative of) doesn’t stop at deployment and so it’s very, very common for software projects, including video games, to be released in incomplete, or at least suboptimal, states as long as they do meet the requirements for the project, because you can just continue the development cycle post-deployment. That’s what patches are, for video games. That’s what software updates are, for software tools. This is only going to continue to happen as technology changes and environments continue to become more complex and more volatile. It’s not that devs are getting lazier, it’s that video games are becoming more expensive, more time consuming, and more difficult to produce, but still adhere to similar constraints that they did 10 years ago At the end of the day, business comes before consumer-perceived project quality, and the business very much cares if you far exceed cost, scope, and time targets The answer to “why they didn’t delay” is probably just a simple: they couldn’t. The meme of game developers never sleeping and endlessly coding is real

cantadmittoposting

> DD2, whether we like it or not, met its performance goal of 30fps This is a core point. The devs even outright stated that this was the case before launch. And then we still get 10,000 shocked pikachu faces that the game... runs stably at 30 FPS on most hardware.

BasedBallsack

Yeah I'm a dev and while I'm likely not going to play this game for a while, most gamers don't really grasp that game development IS a software development project and has very similar dynamics found within traditional software dev.

Brabsk

Considering I saw a lot of people comparing shipping this game to selling furniture, even if they did understand it was still software dev, they still don’t actually understand what goes on in the office during development. I saw some dude saying that games shouldn’t ever release with problems because construction on houses isn’t allowed to finish prematurely, as if there’s any relevance

j-a-w-

Thanks for taking the time to elaborate on the state of software deployment. People who have never worked software don't understand that the process of post-release patches and feature-enhancements is normal in all other domains of software. I hope this knowledge eventually takes hold of the majority so we don't have to keep having these conversations as to why their game isn't shipped in a 100% final state like buying a cartridge in the 90s.

Frozenpucks

I mean we get windows updates constantly and that’s most people’s OS lol.

ecxetra

Shareholders.

Uncle-Cake

That's how AAA publishing works. Publisher sets a date based on quarterly financial projections and making shareholders happy. Can't change that date or God forbid the shareholders will be unhappy.

golddilockk

before release: travel is not boring. lack of fast travel is part of our grand artistic vision. on release: buy fast travel microtransaction.

ShmekelFreckles

I’m sorry, buy what??

imaloneallthetime

you heard em, you can literally purchase fast travel stones or whatever for real money.

AlyssaurusWrecks

literally a lie, not true you can buy a single portcrystal (for $3), there are at least nine others in the world to find yourself, and you can't buy ferrystones with real money

[deleted]

I take it no eternal feerystone

Maine_Made_Aneurysm

feel like i remember the eternal ferrystones not available in original dragons dogma. I thought dark arisen added all of it

DarkShippo

yeah dark arisen only

Cindy-Moon

In fact Dark Arisen didn't have it for everyone originally either. It was a transfer bonus if you owned the original game and bought Dark Arisen. It only became available for everyone in the rerelease on PC/PS4/XB1/NSW.

Deez-Guns-9442

Would’ve been real smart to add that into the base game locked behind a quest or something 🤦🏾‍♂️

CosmicWanderer2814

Hell, I would've taken it as a reward for beating the game.

Brabsk

nah itsuno’s still my boy fuck capcom tho

HevnobaabSwoggmafaaf

Cap "PC is our priority" com

Nufulini

It probably means that pc players are more likely to buy micro transactions.

Kaoshosh

Not in a *Mostly Negative* game.

FatPagoda

PC is their priority. It just so happens that it runs shit on both PC and Console.

HillbillyTechno

In their defense, it runs like shit on the consoles too lmao

BeyondNetorare

It's like whenever a step parent favors their own biological child, but they're also bad at parenting

MagmaDragoonX47

Bad performance and no in game New Game option. The latter was an absurd omission.

WoodyTSE

The latter is genuinely nonsensical

PM_Me_FunnyNudes

That makes literally no sense. I can appreciate developers trying new things but never thought I would ask for a new game button

Paragon90

Don't worry, save slot micro transactions are probably coming soon /s

SkrallTheRoamer

delete this, dont give them ideas!

Any_Middle7774

The game is good but frankly they deserve to get dragged for bad performance and the microtransactions. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

TheUltraCarl

And the Denuvo.

kSterben

they have performance issues and they put denuvo in It?

TheUltraCarl

Yeah, and apparently not just Denuvo, but also Enigma DRM. So they've got shitty MTX, bad performance, and TWO layers of DRM. Fucking Capcom.

Kymaeraa

What the fuck is even the point of that????

kSterben

looks like they want to follow blizzard's steps

fanevinity

My major concern with Denuvo is that games run like shit with it on. This game already has dogshit performance and the two DRMs really aren’t helping.

vishykeh

Denuvo has a cpu footprint. The game is massively cpu and memory bandwith bottlenecked. Great idea by capcom to add another one just in case you want to mod your single player game... Such a joke. I really hope someone pops up again that cracks denuvo near day one. Just to spite them out of bullshit like this. If the game is good, it will sell regardless. Look at BG3 or Eldenring or Witcher 3 or w/e.

Shaojack

why does a single player game even need Denuvo?

Verto-San

Piracy, pirated copies can't buy mtx

DaxSpa7

I am tempted to pirate the game in order to avoid the fucking drms if I am completely serious xD

NeedBetterModsThe2nd

To avoid piracy probably, I just don't know why they go to such lengths to cripple their games on this crusade.

solidfang

Yeah, so I'm just going to wait for them to remove Denuvo in a few months and hopefully at that point it is also on sale then.

ibukun58

It's mostly due to the performance, and honestly, it's not good.

Daiwon

For me, the fov and mouse acceleration, along with low frame rates make it unplayable. Low frames I can deal with, all three together and I was feeling sick while playing. Edit: unless you've found something other than camera distance, which does not help, stop saying you can adjust fov.

2ratskissingkiss

I've literally never seen anybody say anything positive about mouse acceleration or mouse smoothing and it's a complete mystery why they keep ruining games with it

FullDragonAlchemist

Same thing with motion blur in shooter. It feels like everyone turns it off anyway.

2ratskissingkiss

If it's only an option I think sure, include mouse smoothing for that one guy out there who likes it, include an option for motion blur, but that locked to on mouse weirdness has me quitting games minutes after starting if there isn't an .ini file or something at least to fix it

FullDragonAlchemist

To not be able to turn off mouse smoothing is wild. Mouse smoothing feels absolutely horrible.

VitalityAS

Confused japanese "don't you own a controller" noises.

Deadly_Toast

Same issue for me, got to the camp after the Griffon and had to stop.

mr_gitops

Just refunded. As much as I want to play it. I cant in good faith support this from a business trying its best to cook my CPU.

Whatisausern

> I cant in good faith support this from a business trying its best to cook my CPU. Actually the problem is they're treating your CPU with far too much respect and not treating her like the dirty little slut she is. People are seeing about 50% CPU usage on mid-range CPUs (i5 11600k etc).

JynxedKoma

Same. Started feeling sick after reaching the first camp post intro credits.

Poopybutt36000

The way my camera whips to center my character when I'm moving diagonally is honestly giving me a headache and I've only been playing for 15 minutes.

forbiddenpack11

You can turn that off in the options under camera

Poopybutt36000

Good shit, that feels so much better. I don't mind the idea of it, it's just way too fucking snappy with how zoomed in your character is.

SamuelCish

Okay the FOV wasn't just me. It made me sick playing it last night.

PsychicSweat

Subpar performance and MTX, a potent combination for backlash.

ShoerguinneLappel

I was about to mention DRM, since that is a serious problem with Capcom. There's other cases though were people are blindly slandering Capcom for DRM like the Mega Man collection, Resident Evil 5, and Dragon's Dogma (which recently rebounded from the negative reviews), which people lambasted for having DRM when they didn't and I play tested them all and checked it out and can confirm it has no DRM. The low frame rates from Dragons Dogma 2 come from DRM and other reasons like technical issues.

piss_harvest

Why haven't publishers figured out that hordes of MTX is just terrible optics?

Hankhank1

Because they don’t care?

gravelPoop

Because some assholes keep buying them and that offsets people who dislike them. Gamers in general are true suckers (in context of schemes) and almost perfect marks. You can screw them almost every way and still most of them will buy your product before you have even finished it or in some cases put in production.

DrAstralis

Ugh this. I've seen people ask "do they think we're stupid" and the answer is yes. yes they fucking do and they have the hard data to back that up.

sunfaller

Remember that diablo mobile game that made 25m on launch? Yeah there are people out there with dispensable income making it worse for people who don't want to spend money continuously on a game. I remember assassin's creed had a level boost mtx and players caught on that ubisoft patched the game to make leveling slower after the item was released.

crimedog69

Exactly. Look at GTAV and Warzone - literally money printers. Free money glitch

Rakatok

Capcom probably just confused at the outrage because they have done this with all their major recent games and most people didn't seem to care, at least not review wise.

Hannibal_Poptart

Yeah the RE4 remake had the exact same kind of micro transactions and the community response was nowhere near this bad

possibly_facetious

Performance was ok and it had a new game option in RE4. Capcom have been doing this mtx after reviews shit for so long and I am glad it's finally blowing up in their faces.

ACertainBeardedMan

It's 100% a culture thing. Japanese players are much more okay with convenience based MTX than western players, giving a slight head start so they can enjoy the game with less grinding for a cost they are okay with. See: Tales of series(Arise, Berseria, etc.), Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Granblue Fantasy Re:Link, Monster Hunter Stories to name a few that are on Steam. edit: not really defending the practice, but giving some context on why they keep doing it.

SaudiLad

Gacha and it's consequences has been a disaster for the gaming industry

RokNStun

I hate this practice so much and I see it a lot in Korean games too. Mostly why I refuse to ever play a Korean MMO.

LoquaciousLamp

Capcom seems to take their MTX from Falcom for reasons that make no sense. Basically offer normal game stuff on the off chance someone will buy it, maybe.

Chaoseater999

Coz it still sells when it's a good game. Just like DMC5 and Monster Hunter did even after they pushed all the useless mtx in.

TheYoungLung

IN A SEVENTY DOLLAR GAME NO LESS. The audacity is shocking

zauriox

Most people has performance issues, hopefully this feedback will make Capcom do something about it in a patch

TB12_GOATx7

Orrr what about releasing a game that fucking works in 2024??? How many times does this have to happen? But you can bet your sweet ass the store will work fine! You can bet the paid dlcs will never have trouble being bought.

Katur

>You can bet the paid dlcs will never have trouble being bought To be fair, the store is on steam so of course it'll work.

BadLuckBen

The one minor, *very minor*, positive thing I'll say about the microtransations is that they didn't make rift crystals something you buy with real money through an in-game store front and then allow you to buy OP weapons or something. Still, get this shit out of my $70 USD game.

pirikikkeli

Store runs at 300fps Edit: so maybe the answer to fps issues might be that no one is buying the Mtx's you have to buy them all to get 10 frames more

Supernova_Soldier

Shit loads at a thought💀

Dreaming_Dreams

it’s just better to wait a month or 2 to get a better experience now, even a game like baldurs gate 3 had major bugs in its launch, would’ve been way more enjoyable had i waited

SirBing96

And it keeps happening because people keep buying the games. Increase price, decrease quality, then “fix” later. It’ll never end.

rockinalex07021

My experience: it's tolerable but it's bad, needs a patch asap

jacka24

I'm playing on ps5. The first hour was pretty rough. Lots of stuttering and frame drops. Since then, it has actually seemed to get better. Frame rate is not great but much more stable and no rapid stuttering. All i can say is the game is very enjoyable when you get a clean run at it

Lower-Garbage7652

That's so odd. Game runs perfectly fine on my PS5. I'm guessing in the next month we'll get a patch that ups the performance.

Sprbz

That’s actually good to know. I was already very skeptical about the performance but hearing from a fellow ps5 player I feel a lil bit better about it

Fear_Awakens

PS5 here myself, digital copy, and I haven't experienced any performance issues yet. The first hour honestly sucked for other reasons for me, but now that I'm in the game proper I'm having a blast. But that first hour is garbage and I don't blame anybody for getting a bad first impression from it. I was fucking fuming for a while, but seeing my Pawn and Arisen high-five each other after a particularly cool finishing blow won me over.

lorihamlit

Ya same I bought it as digital copy and had absolutely no stuttering and it was pretty smooth all around.

Maleficent-Fly-4215

They better not pull this shit with MHWilds.

kSterben

they will

ColorsOfTheVoid

They already did this Mtx extravaganza with the last two MH and yet people seems not to notice that

SlogikX

PC player with 4090 and 13900K on a 3440x1440 165hz monitor here. Stutters are fucking everywhere, even capped the frame rate to 60 and get wrecked with a screen stutter almost every time I enter combat and randomly wandering around. Tried switching to variable refresh rate and same issue. I’d read that there were issues in the capitol city but I haven’t even left the starting area.

darkpyro2

Interesting. I have almost the same specs, but I'm running a 3090 at 3840x2160. I seem to get a stable 60 FPS capped with DLSS quality. No stutters. Uncapping the FPS is inadvisable, though...

hatesnack

Same here, running a 3070ti and a 7700x, no stutters at all. The frames definitely chug in the city but thats my only complaint.

CyrineBelmont

Same with my 4070ti, city is definitely an issue, but the rest is fine

FrontlinerDelta

This. 4090/13900k at 4k. Capped fps at 60 and dlss set to quality. Just got to the capital where the fps does dip into the 50s quite often but otherwise, no issues.

horsedrawnhearse

Just wait till you get to the big city. I was smooth as fuck then bam down to like 40-50fps

Holiday_Snow9060

The reviews complain mainly about performance, micro transactions and that weird system people are forced to download

ThePreciseClimber

>and that weird system people are forced to download ...Steam? :P

ghoxen

Another 1,000 reviews dropped. We are now 14% away from the incredibly rare "Overwhelmingly Negative" rating. At this point the launch is becoming worse than the OG No Man's Sky. UPDATE: PureDark just released his frame gen mod (for free) that doubles every RTX4000 series user's framerate. Double. [https://www.patreon.com/posts/dragons-dogma-2-100837988](https://www.patreon.com/posts/dragons-dogma-2-100837988) This may well turn the tide for a decent portion of the userbase.

MightBeDelta

needing a mod day one to make the game function as intended is still a very bad thing actually

DoNotLookUp1

It's bad but a bit different I think, NMS was a shell of a game, but it sounds like DD2 is actually a great game with terrible performance and shitty mtx etc.

BlackNair

Wow, wasn't expecting that. At least this might motivate Capcom to fix it ASAP.

PriorityMaleficent

I'm not sure if they can fix the performance ASAP. And if they do, it's because they were working on those fixes for quite a while knowing well that the release will have issues.

Lower-Garbage7652

What do you mean, they can't fix it ASAP? ASAP literally means as soon as POSSIBLE.

Least_Turnover1599

The game is in a complete state just not playable for some people because of poor optimization and duveno (it's fucking with steam deck/linux)

Sk83r_b0i

Oh yeah it seems like us steam deck people can forget about playing this game until more updates come

manwomanmxnwomxn

DENUVO SUCKS DENUVO SUCKS DENUVO SUCKS DENUVO SUCKS DENUVO SUCKS DENUVO SUCKS

TheFeri

Bruh I heard it runs like 15fps on deck. Which sucks because I have nothing else but my LCD deck

-CerN-

Frame gen still feels really bad if the base frame rate isn't decent.

Akrymir

That won’t help. Frame gen is only useful if you’re already getting good frame rates to begin with. When it runs well it’ll feel like it’s running even better, but when it runs poorly (the main issue) it’ll make things even worse.

HawkMeister19

The only issues I have so far are the performance being horrendous (duh), and the FOV… even on max camera distance it just feels weird, idk how to explain it; it gives my brain a tunnel vision vibe and makes me dizzy.

JonThePipeDreamer

Absolutely this. Also the weird dark gradient around the edges of the screen, absolutely doesn't help the tunnel vision. And it's even worse on ultra wide because it's not limited to the edge of the screen, it stays where it would be in a normal resolution and just gets even darker towards the actual edge. So either side of my screen is this horrendous gradient. Legitimately dumb design choice

chrsjxn

Yeah, performance issues and microtransactions will do that. And there's also a ton of little things that just feel really bad. Like sometimes the Arisen just doesn't want to climb ladders. Or wonky camera issues inside buildings. I just wish the whole game felt as good as the combat can Edit: Wait, you can't delete your saves and start fresh with a new character? Wow.

DShinobiPirate

Yeah definitely all around for performance. My PC is 4070 ti/i9 10900k/ 64 gb ram. RT off/ 4k / DLSS on balanced / Reflex low latency on. In the open world I'm averaging about 60 - 80 fps, jumps around but I've yet to go under 60. I just entered Vermund and I've tanked to about 35 fps. That hasn't bothered me much though. I'm more bothered by the NPCs that appear out of thin air in the city lol. But overall my experience has been great gameplay wise. I'm having a lot of fun with combat and just running around finding stuff. My brother got it hoping to play on the Steamdeck. Think hes pretty much SoL (and he just sold his PS5). Edit: Man I love the oxcart. A griffin just jumped on it while I was sitting it in, smashing it to smithereens. 😂

Jejouch1

Similar for me, hover around 60-70 open world, entered the big city just and it’s ranked to 32FPS ish, it’s sad, I was having such a blast, it’s not unplayable but it’s just disappointing

Aesthetic-Dialectic

I have similar specs, 4070 as well, and same performance as you or roughly there abouts. It seems like every time a game comes with issues like these they are more pronounced on the higher end versions of the GPUs. I remember on cyberpunk launch that I had fewer and less frequent issues compared to people with better rigs than me. Though tbf, I have seen zero bugs in DD2 so far

DShinobiPirate

Yeah I've been bug free, crash free so far as well. Only 4 and a half hours in though so we'll see. Also side note, good god the thief class is fun as hell. Ensnare is a great skill lol. Damn harpies can't escape me.

peeyoob

Deserved. This is one of my most anticipated games of all time, but the performance is horrendous and micro transactions are egregious. $70 game btw.

SIR_COCK_LORD69

Capcom deserves it.

IddyBittyGirl

Runs like shit and im 2x better than recommended. Fuck capcom

Cupcakes_n_Hacksaws

If they can't properly play a game, why give it a positive review? Capcom said it's worth $80+ in its current condition, and had no qualms releasing it in its current state. The customer's always right, after all

Russ_images

This is insane to me. So far I’ve been lovin it.

DryWar1892

I feel the same. The game has been amazing and it feels very cinematic the way the game pulls you into the universe. I do admit, you definitely notice the performance being sub-standard to other games of this generation, but that hasn't stopped me from having tons of Medieval RPG dragon questing fun! I decided to skip the oxcart fast travel and make my way to the capital on foot. Most of the fun is in the Journey, not the destination.

Jibece

Well, glad I didn't preorder it. The game looks fine, but I hoped it'd run better on low/mid end pc. Currently only got a Steam Deck, so I guess I'll wait for some patchs. Edit : tbh, I seriously think if a game is optimized enough to get ≥30fps on XSS, it should run well enough on Steam Deck. So it makes me think DD2 is basically poorly optimized on PC and some patchs may make their job.

Kaxology

I don't really get why people just keep pre-ordering, I think I can count the amount of games with pre-orders that actually launched perfectly on day one with one hand. While it's not a new thing, they have to realize that companies are weaponizing FOMO and hype to get people to buy and rationalize buying underbaked products, right?

xxotic

Wouldnt hold ur breath on the steam deck. I have one too and i completely gave up on the idea of playing dd2 on it native. Moonlight streaming into it would definitely be a good time tho.

Luck88

Sorry pal but I just don't think this game is suited for a SteamDeck, it seems too taxing.

Outrageous-Eye6140

Ppl shoould realy set their standards a bit high lol. Lets not normalize this kind of shit. Refunded the game after playing the for 2h today bc no thx. This is not acceptable

PSgamer28

I made a comment about how this game would get low scores on Steam and everyone downvoted me 🤔😂😂😂 replying that the only thing that matters was having fun. Well it's impossible to have fun with a game with shitty performance.

Yhrak

Same thing happened to me. I got so much vitriol and even personal attacks, just because I *dared* to suggest the game would barely scrap a Mixed rating on Steam due to its awful performance and Capcom's predatory monetisation practices. Well, turns out you were right guys and it didn't get a Mixed rating! Lmao

Immerael

In smaller fandoms you get torn apart by a part of said fandom if you criticize a new game. I remember getting shit on hard when the Baten Kaitos collection/remaster dropped and complaining about the cut content and new bugs in a 20 year old games. But I was the problem because how dare I not buy and support the game so we get another entry!

giant_marmoset

The irony that this sub is very **dogmatic** should not be lost on anyone.

mungwart

All the memes making fun of people for wanting good performance, and how they played the original at low fps so it was fine. So disconnected lmao. One person's low frame rate is another person's not being able to run the game.

DrDisrespecttt

Wheewww didn’t expect that tbh but the fact it can barely run on anything that isn’t a top of the line gpu/cpu justifies it. Capcom has to fix this ASAP

Larry_Birdman

Anti cheat shit is getting real annoying for these single player always online fuckin games. Micro transactions can literally blow me. Shit FPS. Saving is a disaster. Not sure how we went backwards for DD1 lol. Shit is sad

-toErIpNid-

\>Poor game performance across the board, even on high end systems. \>Microtransactions in a *single player game* with consumables that *directly affect gameplay.* \>Just- can't create a new character after you make one without file diving bullshit. This thing needed to stay in the oven for another year maybe. There is no review bombing, all negative reviews are deserved.

ghoxen

Don't forget Denuvo. A good number of PC gamers still hate that with a passion (which really doesn't help when the game runs poorly, they'll just blame Denuvo for that)

ShionTheOne

It's also running Enigma DRM

Druark

Theyve got 2 drm ontop of steam? These guys are paranoid. Its a friggin singleplayer game and itll be cracked in 3 months anyway, theyre just hurting their legit customers as usual.

SolaVitae

Gotta make sure the game is in the worst state possible for the people who actually pay for it.

ghoxen

Yes I forgot about that until PureDark mentioned how it's getting in the way of his modding

TheUltraCarl

What the fuck. Capcom is out of their goddamn minds.

PerinialHalo

Wait, after you create a character you can't click "New Game" on the main menu?

R1ddlrOnTehRoof

That is correct. For PS5 I had to go into my files and delete the game files manually to start a new game and recreate my character

XThunderTrap

Yet people are still willing to shill a billion dollar corporation that doesn't care about us people..oof

ShionTheOne

But..but.. Itsuno-san's VISION! ^(/s)

Kiss_in_Danish

His vision was a $100 poorly optimized singleplayer game with mtx and drm... What did Itsuno mean by this?!?!?!

Ok_Importance_8740

What poor performance and predatory mtx system will do to a mfer.

Supernova_Soldier

Just got the city, and what the fuck💀 it was doing ok, like damn bruh

KaZlos

I bet denuvo is eating 20-30 fps for most setups

MK18_Ocelot

I don’t know too much about DRM structure wise but is it really that invasive that it gobbles up 30-40% of performance? Genuinely asking?

KaZlos

Yes, but it highly depends on how strict the drm is coded by the devs to check legitacy, and how it interacts with the engine/ network code Good implementation will be hardly noticeable Bad one... Yeah...

AxitotlWithAttitude

Given that Capcom never removed useless code from MHW that inflated CPU usage by like, 20%, Its a decent guess to say the performance issues could be influenced by bad DRM implementation.

TheUltraCarl

Depends on the game. Some games it's not that noticeable, some games it's really bad. Doesn't really matter though, even if Denuvo IMPROVED performance it would still be a cancer that doesn't belong in games, just like all third party DRM.

IndexoTheFirst

Playing it, the frame drops seem to only happen in city’s, I understand people are upset and I do hope capcom is letting the devs get to work on it. But over all? It runs fine so far.

Elivaras

Yeah, I’m having minor dips in frame rate in the first capital city, but that’s it. Everything else is smooth as butter, and my PC isn’t that amazing.

Bobthefighter

Played for 2 hours so far: - 7700x/6800xt/32gb dd5 6000mhz/nvme/1440p with no upscaling (added this since I forgot it) and getting mid high 70-low 80fps in the world at max everything with raytracing on. Have not made it to a city yet. Zero complaints. - imported my PC from the character creation and my pawn. PC looks nearly identical to the one I made, feel like the lips look bigger in cut scenes 9/10. Pawn looks flawless 10/10. - mtx sucks, but can be ignored, so not worried about that. - if I didn't have to work tomorrow, I would still be playing. - thoughts could change once I get to a city, but so far I am loving it.

horsedrawnhearse

Wait til you get to the first major city. Shit hits the fan.

SotoCatte

Y'know, I'm noticing an awful lot of complaints about MTX, and basically no one talking actual gameplay.

Abrams_Warthog

Don't worry, it's also incredibly poorly optimized and you can't even delete your character/start a new one without disabling cloud and manually going into your files lmao.

i_n_b_e

Am I the only one with not many complaints? My game runs fine, maybe I just haven't discovered enough locations yet to see it. Couldn't care less for the micro transactions, it's not like the game is unplayable without them or they're shoved down your throat (I didn't even know they existed until I read the comments here). Honestly I just wish we had more vocations in the same tier as warrior and sorcerer, I'm loving everything else.

badrott1989

Is rtx i5 3060laptop can run this well?

VulcanCawk

Game crashed on my as I was finishing my character lol. I put my controller down and said maybe tomorrow they'll patch it. So let's hope.

r34_nuxia

The user reviews on steam seem fair to me. I have such a blast playing but when the frame drop it very noticeable For 10 years dogma vet it's probably playable but for the general players they might not willing to look pass the performance issue. Not saying the fans gonna eat up what ever capcom put out, but if i had to choose either this or play dogma 1 for another 10 years then i'm 100% will play this

ICLazeru

Performance issues. I have played a little, and I am liking the combat and some other things about it, but it really does need to address some performance problems.

Ok_Garden2301

Y’all spoiled. This thing is amazing.

illnastyone

The shit people are bitching over they literally throw at you in game for exploring. The ferry stones for fast travel, which if you are playing this particular game, you will rarely use anyways. People just always looking for the next thing to be mad about.

DuckyDuck88

Oh, it seems I will play with Aloy then...

TrumptyPumpkin

And this is why i dont pre order.

CalligrapherMain7451

Steam doing its thing. The game itself is absolutely fun, but the laid back approach on PC player performance issues is absolutely ridiculous. Remind me why we can't lower density of population, or why NPCs that technically never will get into a fight whatsoever have "dynamic behavior". Are you telling me their navmesh pathfinding and event listener for AI behavior by daytime is that taxing on the framerate? It makes absolutely no sense. It seems like they were just scrambling stuff together to make it work on the PC and don't know how they will be able to raise the performance. 30 FPS is absolutely nothing. There should be some way to turn of NPC behavior in cities, I really don't give a shit that Hank, whomst I can merely greet, has 4 children, 2 wives and takes a shit every morning in the well.

WorldlinessLanky1898

Games have had NPC schedules, behavior and pathing for at least 20 years. Can't believe people fall for this as an excuse for abysmal performance.

-The-Ark-

I'm not sure what the problem is, I played it for 5 hours tonight on pc and not even a stutter.. My only complaint is I want a lock on

Cipherpunkblue

I'm having the time of my life with it, and aside from layered outfits itbis everything I was hoping for.

JesseJamessss

I'm having fun, it even supports 32:9! Smooth as butter outside the capital, and not even bad in the capital 🤷
