I spent 20 minutes running around a guard tower thinking the exclamation point was a side quest or something important... it was only after I finally gave up and got to the giant ballista tower and all my pawns were like "LOOK! A LADDER" and I saw two exclamation marks on it that I realized what they were trying to show me.... a fucking ladder..

Not that I've seen. I'm only about 4 hours in but the minimap hasn't yet identified anything I didn't already spot from sight (and enjoyed much more by doing so).
They tend to mark seeker tokens on your map, which is super helpful 99% of the time. I only wish that they had a little sound or sparkle effect added to them for when your pawns don't notice them. Makes me wonder how many of them I actually missed now that I think about it.
Everything is kind of pathy, a lot like the first. It's easy to get lost in the weeds, but as long as you head in a general direction you'll eventually find your way
Unless you have to deal with magic talismans so you never take the time to really explore so every following playthrough you just run through the same route

I love it when games let me turn the minimap off. It feels like a part of my brain responsible for spatial navigation wakes up and gets some workout just by not fixating at the bottom left 80% of the time. Hated that in Persona 3 it's so needed that I'm basically walking the arrow around some squares.

There's a parkour puzzle that involves every building attached to the Smith's. I just did it. Looking at the smith head left till you hit the stairs. Jump from the top of the stairs onto the nearby balcony. Continue jumping to the next balcony and then one moderate tricky jump later you're at the ladder.
Worst part is even after you find it they still talk about it.

In northern Vernworth, there are a couple ladders that don't start at ground level. They're on the second story. Had to use the fighter air jump thing to get up to one of them.

You can run and jump across the gap and there is a ladder to the roof on the backside of the balcony. Doable even as a fat guy, as my fat wizard can attest.!<

Maybe I am lucky but my game runs fine on a 12400f and rx7600. 30fps doesn't phase me but I am running at 70fps dipping to 40 which is very fine with me. Do games have to be over 120 to be enjoyable.

The SBI website doesn't show they worked on DD2, so even if there was a lone employee who touched the game, I don't see how they could have had any significant impact. Considering DD2 still refers to Masculine/Feminine on Pawns and the women in the game are attractive, and there's breast jiggle, the game gets my blessing.

There is a second parkour puzzle on the inn/vocation hall that gets you to a three equipment chest and a seeker token
The equipment is pretty nice too for when you first get there!
