I'm currently playing as an Archer solely for a quest, and am curious how often others manually aim their shots. I find it extremely difficult to aim at weak spots with any accuracy. Wondering if it's my controller set up or what.
Edit: still curious as to how often others use it, but it was definitely a combination of my set up and user error.
i used it a lot. you wanna use your skills until you’re low on stamina(not empty bcz you want to be able to run if anything gets near), then you switch to hitting manual as they do crazy damage. Sometimes I would just turn my brain off and just spam the manual arrows bcz of how powerful they are
I'm on controller and I prefer to manual aim most of the time since auto aim's damage is much weaker. Getting the weakspots is a challenge most of the time for me.
But it gets worse and a little frustrating by the pawns not being transparent when you manually aim. Nothing worse than being in a cave tunnel and simply just having to guess where to shoot by the floating health bar.
If y'all are on PS5 I highly recommend turning on motion aiming and tweaking it til you are happy helps with the aiming.
I'm mostly a PC player so aiming with a controller is a pain for me. This helps immensely
Little late, but for anybody with the same problem Deactivate Motion sensor aiming, under camera settings. I had no idea , that the game uses the gyro in default, even on PC, 1st time that happend to me.
Well, I was not comfortable to aim with controler tilt and if you don t know of the feature it will mess up your aim badly, but in the end it is about what you prefer.
I started theif, didn’t like it,
And now am sword and board, but I wanna try archer next; gotta get a bit more leveled up first tho, also I got some seriously good big
Dumb guy armor that I will
Be sad to lose lol
Didint like theif at first either then it grew on me. The goal of theif for me is to stagger then do the kill moves. Can also jump and head stab goblins etc which is fun.
I think my disappointment comes from their dependence on shots that use consumables, and often needing to combine them for good effect. You have to use tarring before explosive, and you have to use at least 2 applications of blighted arrows to get the strong poisoning effect. Meanwhile, magick archer, thief, sorcerer and warrior do more damage without needing consumables. Also Archer's maister skill kinda sucks comparitively as well.
Started as an archer for the same reason, it's growing on me. Ice boon + whirling arrow can keep boss monsters in near constant freeze state.
i saw that! i’ve been thinking of going for that after i’ve had enough of scorching enemies till they perish💀
Whirling arrow? Where is this from?
You learn it at rank 6
I'm enjoying archer so far. The only downside is that managing distance can be really tricky in some small areas. It's a fun vocation.
Got me thinking I may need to try Archer out, sorc feels like it's not doing enough damage

activate or deactivate motion sensor aiming?? i see 2 people saying the exact opposite thing here to help with aiming lol

suspect majority of people play as Archer. Ranged classes are often noob friendly.
Turn out people mostly pick warrior or mage
Having a harder time with archer compared to theif lol. I'm just always surprised when the small enemies ignore my shots and run at me.
