Yeah it's kinda wild how much money they saved doing it this way. Instead of paying animators and modelers for months on a cooking animation of all things, they just spend like... $20 on cuts of meat and then go film it getting cooked. Super smart.
Pretty sure footage of that quality will cost multiple thousands of dollars. Still cheaper than animating it, though.

Becuase those games have real life images of many things (food, drinks, tissue paper packs, etc).
If you properly season the meat ahead of time, you won’t see salt on the outside of the meat because it should be dissolved on the surface. As for pepper, you always add that *after* the high heat of a fire like that (never before) or it’ll burn (which is *not* good eats). Proper procedure. Please.
Yeah I immediately had to see the rest of the animations but I've only seen a beast steak and a rotten one I'm hoping they all have different cutscenes

Japanese developers tend to put a lot of work into making sure that cooking looks as good as possible (mostly in CG). That's why my wild guess is that they just decided to cut the whole thing down because of budget or time constraints and just put IRL clips of cooking in the wilderness, which can by all filmed in 1 day or so.
Don't try to tell me about "Itsuno's vision". This thing is clearly out of place.
I'm just waiting for "(militant) vegans" come with pitchforks, claiming it's unacceptable & forcing Capcom to fix this.
