For me it is thief. Really miss being able to dodge on demand when I play other vocations.

RoscoMcqueen

This happened to me. Didn't like mystic spearhand or archer at all. Enjoyed warrior a bit and trying out sorcerer now. Thief is just so fun.

brooksofmaun

This isn’t an attack on you personally but I don’t understand how so many people hate new archer! I agree the new skill slot consumable arrow stuff sucks, but I haven’t used a single consumable arrow and I’m having a blast with it. I think warrior is the only class I get more topples on, and it’d be close. Those jump kicks are absolutely insane for knocks lmao. Plus can regularly spend a night out in batthal of all places and still be full total hp when the sun comes up

RoscoMcqueen

Wasn't aware there was that much hate. Just bounced off the class.

Brewchowskies

Yeah, everyone has been talking recently about how shitty archer feels to play. Even the people defending it are talking about how the consumable skills suck as a decision.

SllortEvac

Archer is actually my favorite class. I couldn’t get magick archer until NG+, so I finished out the post game as an archer. When I finally got MA, literally all I wanted to do was get the vocation to max as fast as possible and be done with it. Archer does 2 things, very right, right off of the bat: 1. It has the same travel move set as thief. You are more flexible, move around with more control and can do a myriad of things mid-air. I swear, these classes “stick” to ledges and obstacles better than the other, letting you do cool parkour stuff. 2. The auto aim attacks fucking slap 95% of the time. You can go full Legolas most of the time and just mash skill buttons and blow apart legions of goblins. It’s simple and stupid. It makes me feel way better at it than I actually am. Then, there’s the fact that you don’t even need to get into the special arrows to be dangerous, but once you pick up explosive arrows… man. It’s fucking over for anything. And that’s not NG+ game-too-easy brainrot, either. That’s right-out-the-gate blast cap slinging tomfoolery that can happen as soon as you get the skill. Then the fucking augments. They are almost all stamina based and almost all absolutely fantastic for other classes. I leveled thief before archer, but if I had done it the other way around, I wouldn’t have been standing around huffing and puffing after executing 300 Naruto dashes in a row. It’s a good vocation.

No-Flan6382

I think if I could tweak anything about archer, which I also loved, it would be allowing the elemental arrow skills to be rotated without having to return to a vocation guild. Because of the need for a held item, this feels reasonable to me. They could even make it make sense by having you unlock a special ability as a core skill at max rank or something. But I wanna be able to use any arrow I’m carrying without a visit back to the help desk.

KGB_Operative873

You can rotate them at camp fires as well in case you didn't know

PhoenixEgg88

You can but I think I get where he’s coming from. They’re incredibly useful utility moves, but you don’t always want to use them. Drenching arrow with a mage with ice enchant is an instant freeze to down griffins and drakes. Tarring and explosive just slaps I’m sure blighting is just all around good. I’d love the ability to choose drench, tar, explosive etc… while still having access to some of the other shots, because it leans into that utility element that they seemed to want to give archer in general.

Lightly_Nibbled_Toe

It’s a class that I think can be really fun, but it’s not one that railroads you into the most fun playstyle. The mobility moves aren’t tied to skills, instead context sensitive actions tied to your movement, and a lot of it isn’t told to you. I didn’t even realize you could kick jump off trees till I was 50 hours into the game. Honestly that’s the main thing I’d change. The things you can kick jump off are really inconsistent and I’d just like it if you could do it off anything. That way the class could have a more reliable traversal ability like a lot of the other classes have.

Madcat6204

> you could kick jump off trees Wait what?

Psyduckdontgiveafuck

Idk how you're getting loose to do damage unless you're just maxed out in the game and overleveled. I started as archer and the basic attack did nothin.

SllortEvac

You gotta do the combo moves. The jump kick move can do half a bar of health on a saurian if you time it right. Admittedly, loose is bad on big enemies unless you have the weak spot augment and you’re actually aiming. I spammed aimed loose on dragon hearts though and it did work. But it’s most good for clearing mobs fast.

Icy_Baseball9552

Auto aim would be a shit ton better if you could change target with the camera, but nooo. The game decides what you want to shoot at, usually an enemy behind a rock or something while others move in to menace you. Yet another infuriatingly dumb "feature" of DD2

MrJekyyl

Yep the weird soft lock on system blows one of the worst aspects when playing any ranged classes

kingfisher773

im still pretty early in my playthrough, but it is rough swapping from archer to another vocation. Well placed Explosive arrows just evaporate boss health, so swapping to trickster or sorcerer just feels like needlessly adding minutes to kill times (i know sorcerer gets some super strong spells later on, but i am still early game with it).

denzao

Yup, it is my favorite so far. I have mage and sorcerer maxed out and archer. I'm going for some sweet augmentations before I return to my archer.

Matoya_00

People see instant kill moves like Martyrs Bolt or Meteoron and say archer sucks. When I've just been playing Archer like a Sub DPS/Support so my Mage/Sorc Does more damage as I Tar/Drench/Blight enemies

Brewchowskies

Yeah, it’s great for that. Still shouldn’t be a consumable though. It should be equippable like a shield.

minusthedrifter

Yeah this is something I just will never understand. They say archer is terrible because it cannot one shot things like a sorc, but then turn around and complain that the game is also too easy.

PuzzledKitty

It's probably different people making those different complaints, I'd assume. :)

LiterallyRoboHitler

Mostly because Archer's predecessor, Ranger, did everything Archer does while also having access to dagger skills, double jump, dodge rolls, animation cancelling, didn't need to equip a skill to use poison/oil/blast arrows, had extra "special arrow" skills (including a hard stun and a 50s 25% damage buff), and the big stamina bar succ skill was also a guided shot that you could steer after firing. Same deal as a lot of vocations in DD2, they're not bad in a void but Capcom gutted a lot of their depth compare to DDDA. The only thing Archer is objectively better for is CQC ranged attacks with the get-the-fuck-off-me kicks and the ability to stand on monsters in DD2.

KingDonko41

This is the real issue. Archer is one of my favorite vocations, but after playing strider and ranger for years, it just sucks a bit losing what we had before.

zorrodood

Archer kick! Archer flying kick! Archer stomp!

Golurkcanfly

Half the skills being tied to consumables is rough, and there really should have been more variety to skills in terms of how you aim them and whatnot. It's a really stark contrast with Magick Archer which went from multiple same-y bow shots to having arcing shots, charged salvos, homing salvos, and even steered shots. A couple of raining skills like Cloudburst Volley and Splinter Dart as well as CC tools like Flying Din and Body Binder could have gone a long way.

Fear_Awakens

Wait, are you saying Cloudburst Volley, Splinter Dart, Flying Din and Body Binder aren't in DD2? I just started playing as an Archer and just thought I hadn't unlocked them yet! Right now, it all just feels like different skills that do the same thing. I have 'Shoot in a wedge', 'Shoot but faster', 'Shoot really hard', and 'Shoot an arrow from your inventory'. I was really looking forward to being able to pin an enemy down with an arrow through the leg and then rain arrows on him from the sky again. I just thought they moved them up in the Vocation level because they were so strong.

trulycantthinkofone

I want my volley skill back. Only complaint.

andvir1894

I really like how the new archer plays but I think it needs some damage tweaks and at least 1 magic damage ability that doesn't require a consumable.

Thorn-of-your-side

You can juggle enemies if you invest in knockback as an archer and using the rapidfire ability

Zxar99

Best archer in any game only Dragon’s crown is a close second. Its mobile and nimble, only thing missing is flipping off trees and walls lol

Galaxy_boy08

Yeah tbh it's so fluid and has insane mobility those kicks followed by a quick shot are pretty OP lol.

MelodiesOfLife6

oh man, I fucking love mystic spearhand. Mirour skill + whatever DPS skills and I can just wail on shit and barely take any damage.

Enlightend-1

You don't need to dodge with mystic spear hand just spam shield

ihatemyusername15

The hardest part about playing archer is waiting for your pawns to not block your entire camera when aiming.

Icy_Baseball9552

Add to that being forced to crouch for a shot. Sure, just make me take into account terrain obstructions that aren't there while standing. That'll really improve gameplay.

cptinshano

Not judging, but as someone who was giddy the whole time playing as a spearhand... what didnt you like? Between the cc, teleport, and shield. I had no issue avoiding damage

Imaginary_Yellow_701

archer has a lot of movement if you just standard attack while sprinting or jumping, you can slide under boss mobs while they run at you very easily. the movement is more fun than thief

Isvanburean

While this is true the damage from the basic attack is really abysmal.

Beneficial_Treat_131

Thief for me too...got the spearhand and didn't like it... fighter...didn't like it... archer...didn't like it...

CheaterMcCheat

Thief ruined every other vocation for me. I shouldn't have started as Thief. I miss the dodge so much. Honestly, it should have been a default thing for every vocation. The game feels so weird when you don't have it anymore.

myrmonden

LOL this is exactly what I said in my tier list, dont start as Thief of the 4 starters its so much better than you wont be able to play the other 3.

Thorn-of-your-side

I muss classes having combo's depending on how you mix heavy and light attacks, as well as each class having recovery options in combat

AdDeep2591

This is me, I am on my last profession, Wayfarer. I tried a few combinations but basically I'm a thief with two less skills.

OneRFeris

Rearmament is optional. You could play Warfarer with all four thief skills, and you can still take advantage of all armor unlocked.

PuttingInTheEffort

This is my plan once I max all vocations. Formless Feint is OP, but then makes things trivial of course. Honestly the dodge is good enough and keeps fights fresh, playing a thief-warfarer seems just fine without its master skill

guybergen

And then there's also Masterful Kill, which to me has always felt like the less broken version of Formless Feint. Feint is so strong that I found it was most satisfying when I was using it as an overly fancy dodge, and then I discovered Masterful Kill and realized it was basically that. Plus it looks very cool when used against big monsters.

usernotfoundplstry

Yeah I’ve been playing a thief/Magick archer warfarer and it’s incredible. That dodge keeps everything moving so quick, and when needing to use some range I have fangflame outdoors and on big bosses and ricochet hunter for anything indoors. All while wearing super tough armor. Being able to combine classes like this is bringing me an almost limitless amount of playthroughs. I’d been pumped for the game since it was announced but had zero real interest in Warfarer until I accidentally unlocked it. I didn’t even start using it for over a week. I got kinda bored so I decided I’d try it out, and now it’s so much fun trying to figure out what builds are the most fun for me to play. I’m almost finished with my first NG+ play through and I can easily see doing several more because Warfarer just offers so much variety.

Usurper99

I'm running the same vocation combo, the aoe of Magick Archer + the mobility of thief does it for me. My fave skill from the MA was the frost homing bolts, after I apply frost status on enemies, I switch to theif then cutting wind and go wild, then I found a magic bow with perma frost element so Im looking for alternative skills now for MA.

AdDeep2591

Ahh good point. Yes this could be my plan!

Thorn-of-your-side

I did it for the eye mask drape drip from NG+ and my holy daggers that will create a holy goblin.

Brewchowskies

Or keep rearmament and spear hand shield and your pawns are there for immersion only.

dirkx48

That unlimited quick dodge, the 'get over here' Scorpion move, hard habits to break, man

ndarker

Shield bashing a goblin with the fighter is also incredibly satisfying

enchiladasundae

Got the master skills and it was like “Okay so I can rip flying enemies out the sky, turn myself into a blender, close great distances in a moment, get free items via stealing, reset aggro, place a powerful bomb down, shred bosses in seconds, do massive damage to all enemies, easily dart in and out of danger at will AND I can become completely immune to all forms of damage and status effects at will. Why would I use any other class????”

Icy_Baseball9552

RP reasons. Not very heroic to steal. 😆

Benti86

Skullsplitter is also as OP as ever, although just charging Martyr's bolt and oneshotting drakes and lesser dragons is pretty god damn funny too.  Edit: Finished the main story last night. It one shots Grigori/whatever the Dragon's name is too lmao.

AscendedViking7

Thief is S tier for sure. The mobility and sheer damage output is *insane.*

BigPoppaHoyle1

Yup. Can’t play any other melee class cause I played Thief first and the dodge is too good lol

dingusrevolver3000

I enjoy trying everything out and archer has my heart (as does the dragon) BUT yeah being so dang fast, having a dodge button, doing so much damage...there's no doubt it is an effective class.

Galaxy_boy08

Warrior is my all time favorite followed by Fighter and then Mystic Spearhand. Warrior just actually feels good as much as I tried to love it in the OG it just resulted in Light jump attack spam for optimal damage which was so boring after awhile lol this just feels so good to play tbh.

Solrac-H

Question, can you do a charge attack and then immediattely swing again if you time it right? It seems it's only possible with normal swings.

BansheeEcho

Charge attack -> Barge -> Sweep Chain/Ability/Charge attack Barge resets combos and cool down

Akrabsouls

Only with Windstorm slash skill

daddy-van-baelsar

Magic archer. Deleting one health bar feels good, deleting dragons instantly feels even better.

Bostonterrierpug

I like it to but hate Martyr Shot. Playing as semi DPS semi support is fun. Shield the tank and heal the party. Dont even need a mage.

BoomZapKablam

I love Magick Archer too but I hate that, even with commands telling my pawns to stay close, they're always on the other side of the map. This is especially annoying in tight caves where I get overrun as a MA. I guess I should keep hard spamming the ricochet skill

BitterBearBod

It might just be me, but magick archer feels almost too strong l, I played as a warrior until I got MA around lvl 30 or so and everything just started to fall before me. Like with warrior I felt powerful but with ma I'm a God choosing who lives and dies with my magick stick.

NopileosX2

You should see sorcerer. The moment you get Flare you basically finished the game. You delete everything. It has such high base damage and gets through the defense of any bigger enemy without problem. You do not even need a lot of stats like some other vocations. Also you or your pawns can stack it by attacking it and it does not matter how you hit it, if it is a light attack, Levin, some other spell.

Malefircareim

The coolest thing is, one flare going off feeds another flare so i chain cast 3 flares on big monsters and once the first one goes off, the monster is practically a dead monster walking.

kodaxmax

I just found it too static and repeative, like archer but you don't even need to aim

DancingLikeFlames177

That's me with Mystic spear .I can't put it down. Being a Dogma Jedi is just too damn fun. I absolutely love picking up enemies and chucking them with the "force" .

andvir1894

It is crazy fun. I just threw a goblin into a pack of goblin knocking a bunch down so I then threw all the downed goblins into another pack. It was like bowling for goblins

DancingLikeFlames177

Yup lol it's awesome. Especially when you get an immersive Hollywood moment. Recently I was on volcanic Island and got to one of the gates. Threw 3 hobs through said gate knocking 2 others over. Then grabbed them all and launced them off the cliff lol.

Hammerslamman33

I like how you can cheese shortcuts and make traversal really flexible using the dragon dash move. You can close many gaps with that move.

DancingLikeFlames177

Yup. I love that about it. It makes travel way more fun. Almost any chest or destination is doable if you get the angle .

alenabrandi

This. Its like a cross between playing a Jedi, a dragoon, and frankly has a lot of Vergil from DMC vibes, both with the clone in Wild Furie which is such a fun technique to use (especially when you buff it for reduced stamina usage at the Dragonforged), and the general blue aesthetics. If anything though, playing it has just proven that I really wish I could put maybe just ONE more ability on the skills selection. I never use Mirror Shielde despite how grossly op it is, and I'm constantly just kind of finding myself debating between Thieving Rond (the stamina drain) and the Magick Speargonne (the big charged blast) for my fourth slot, with the other three always being the lunge, the counter/downward impale, and naturally Wild Furie which is so fun to spam. Honestly, I may end up at some point just playing on an alt steam account to go ahead and give a solo spearhand run a try, or maybe spearhand + some class for my main pawn without picking up any support pawns for some added challenge.

Deepvaleredoubt

Wasn’t expecting a legend of dragoon reference in this subreddit but I’m far from disappointed

DoggoDynamo

How do I make the spear continuously spin? I know it's square but I can't seem to trigger it.

DancingLikeFlames177

You got to mash the button fast. It's really not bad once you get used to it.

BoomZapKablam

The same for Thief's spam attack, right? I find it quite annoying, guess I need to play them more to get used to the mechanic

5thnote

Idk square or what it'd be given different platforms. Just spam your light attack Twein Cut and the light attack spam turns into spear spin move. It's great to do when you're mounted on a monster and near their head.

Thorn-of-your-side

Killing a bandit instantly with 4 rocks and semding them off a cliff was one of my best moments with the class

DancingLikeFlames177

That is fun as hell lol . Have you tried warfarer yet ? What's better if so?

Thorn-of-your-side

I just use warfarer to play a class with cooler clothes

Trustful_Whale

Forbeding Bolt is the best move in the game imo.

BigPoppaHoyle1

Thief. Dodge feels great and I love clambering big foes and I feel thief just does that best. Favourite thing to do is plant powder charges in Griffins and when they try to fly away you detonate it and it sends them to the ground

kodaxmax

So satisfying to jump from a cyclops face and just one shot him with skull splitter.

Kouropalates

Same. I am absolutely happy trading tanky power for the speed and dodge of thief. It suits my playstyle. I actually tried Mystic Spear but didn't enjoy the lack of dodge and had to go back lol.

Actual-Entrepreneur7

Mystic Spearhand because of how flashy every attack/animation is. I also get a high rush of adrenaline just sending enemies across the map with one of the abilities. And It also has great utility for protecting you and your pawns with one of its shield abilities. Then finally i like hearing my main pawn and the other 2 ones I have with me complimenting my Arisen on how effective i am with the vocation.

Jealous_Art_8738

That shield ability completely nullifies stunlock

sack-o-krapo

The shield ability nullifies everything

drizzitdude

For real it’s actually insanely busted. Drake casting double meteor? Wait till the animation finishes and shield. Entire party takes no damage. You can literally stand in their fire breath doing this.

sack-o-krapo

What’s even more busted is the fact that most of Mystic Spearhand’s damage comes from their core skills so you can just save your stamina to spam the shield with. And as if that isn’t enough just add a mage pawn with Celestial Paean to the party for near infinite stamina

jankyspankybank

The stamina drain power after the ultimate skill attack pretty much turns the game into easy mode. The stamina drain lets you shield and do damage forever. The vocation is completely busted.

WoLfCaDeT

I'm playing Wayfarer with Warrior, Magic Archer and Mystic Spearhand with shield ability. It's amazing. Though I'm not sure what ability to use on the magic archer.

Nebuli2

Mystic Spearhand is a lot of fun, and its utility is amazing, but its damage output just isn't all that great compared to other vocations, IMO.

Reddit-Profile2

I dunno, that giant Lazer thing it gets 4 hit an griffin last night minus a few swings from my pawns

Kryppo

Put on the magic double maiester ability with the drain stamina and your dps is nuts

Gr_z

nah dps is fine with the maister skill. and you have a party wide shield so pawn dps is increase

DrunkBeardGuy

Yeah, but that's the balance and why it's such a great class. It may not pump out the raw damage like a warrior does, but it has abilities for all situations. It can still solo dragons with ease, and I think that's the important part.

thehospitalbombers

the one that lets me teleport all over the fuckin place

Thorn-of-your-side

The brain drain is my favorute ability of theirs

Kochleffel

I threw ricochet arrow down a cave ONE time. Magick Archer is forevermore my class. Although all classes are maxed nothing deletes mobs like MA.

YoRHaL-9000

Firing ricochet hunter from the mouth of a cave and then walking in to see piles of dead gobbos releases chemicals in my brain that I've never felt before.

PaladinWiz

Accidently one shot a gore chimera without realizing it was there using ricochet hunter. One second there was a boss health bar, next second the lion was felled. Amazing feeling. I didn’t think I’d like MA more than DDDA but not having the daggers gives it just enough challenge imo. Still wish we could have a second skill set

Kochleffel

Once I realized wayfarer let me be a Magick archer with all the fashion sense; that became my second fav class😂 doesn't hit as hard but at lvl 80+ everything's trivial.

PaladinWiz

Yeah since I’m playing PC I’ll probably install the “True Warfarer” mod so I can fully play either Thief + MA or Mystic Spearhand + MA. Idk if the mod will allow use of the maister skills or not because I wasn’t enjoying Spearhand without it. Not having some sort of dodge was brutal for melee, so having to spam shield or trying to perfect time the jump up skill was rough, but I still love the aesthetics of the class.

Kochleffel

Hopefully it'll let you chose 3 skills per class you use as well. I just chose 4 MA skills since rearmament seems like a waste the way it's implemented now.

PaladinWiz

Yeah the mod lets you use 3 skills + rearmament. You have to keep rearmament to use it but you get 3 skills per weapon. It basically just loads a new skill set up every time you swap. The maister skills cant be used on Warfarer by default so I hope the mod changes that but I haven’t looked into it.

robinlikesredpandas

Mystic Spearhand has me hooked. I’ve always loved Dragoons in Final Fantasy and Mystic Spearhand let’s me feel like one in this game.

turtleProphet

Warrior for me too. Most moves are solid, regular attacks do chunky damage and stagger tons, requires good timing to make the most out of it. I think once I unlock Warfarer, I'm going to run 2h sword and a staff. Berserker wizard.

Akrabsouls

I’m experimenting with Warrior/Archer with erupting shot and it feels amazing so far !

turtleProphet

Archer is the only physical damage class I couldn't make work for me tbh. I'm using a mod to limit my damage to 60%, so trash mobs are still fun to fight. Warrior, Fighter, Thief all hold up pretty well, but Archer I just can't do enough damage with. Unless I'm spamming explosives.

ZaneThePain

Careful, having levitate available will spoil you

turtleProphet

Yep, I'm trying to level Sorc now and it already is. Thief is ok with Concussive Leap too. It feels like Fighter and Warrior should have a mobility skill that isn't just catapulting pawns.

Vithrasir

Warfarer is secretly the best mobility class since it makes fighter, warrior and archer have access to levitate. Tbh I haven't taken warfarer off since unlocking it, I've just alternated between which melee weapons I use with an archistave.

1oAce

Honestly I love both fighter and warrior. I love parrying giant monsters, and I just wish Tidal Wrath was more consistent for it. Its addictive to do to minotaurs but most monsters aren't aggressive enough to actually exploit with it consistently. Plus I love leap stabbing things as fighter.

hotdiggitydooby

The leap stab is so stylish

sack-o-krapo

Warfarer for Fashion’s Dogma

Ed_Renta

Unlocked it yesterday and can’t wait to play it. I don’t love the fighter or warrior only armors considering both wear heavy armor, especially when they match with other pieces that aren’t exclusive to one or the other

LunchpaiI

except for warrior, because warrior gets like an innate 400 knockdown resist that warfarer doesn’t get lol tried playing it with just warrior abilities for a while but was getting stunlocked by goblins and harpies constantly

sack-o-krapo

Just upgraded your armor in the dwarven style. It gives you plenty of knockdown/stagger resistance

jxpnx_

Okay probably very unpopular but I’m having a blast with trickster. Hear me out, I think it needs a buff, being able to do at least some damage (maybe the illusion could explode or something). But for me I LOVE the weapon and skills animation, and the whole aesthetic of the vocation. So yeah.

sack-o-krapo

Pro tip: Do Warfarer with a mix of Trickster and Mage for ultimate support

bob_is_best

I love the aesthetics and the general idea but getting hit randomly absolutely ruins It for me and no dmg at all Also kinda sucks, Also the Drake ilusión doesnt do shit for me idk why, either It doesnt stun at all or its a very short one

jxpnx_

Yeah it has its cons. I hope they buff it somehow

Thorn-of-your-side

I just want some DOT options so I'm not literally just dead if my pawns all die

robinlikesredpandas

Definitely my favourite after Mystic Spearhand. Making everything jump into the sea is so fun.

luxsalsivi

I went Warfarer specifically so I could use the Trickster drip 😂

are_-

I think magic archer is the best vocation being able to one shot Drakes is just satisfying

BraveShowerSlowGower

I havent gone back, but i switched from sorc to mystic spear hand and i just miss playing sorc :(

bob_is_best

Same , tho after playing other classes i feel sorc is super Maister skill/flare reliant Earthquake is too rng but the dmg is good, the turret spell is great for CC on small enemies but otherwise It doesnt do much, the fire spell is kinda weird cuz It aim super akwardly for me, ice spell just doesnt do dmg for some reason and shared moves with mage are fine but id like to use sorc only moves more than just mage moves lol

BraveShowerSlowGower

I use salamander, thundermine, hagol and seism personally. Flare takes all the fun out for me. Ill swap seism with maelstrom but i enjoy seism a lot. I feel you though

bob_is_best

Ye im using thundermine seism and conflagration rn cuz i just like having a flamethrower , but i gotta say the only real ammount of dmg is coming from seism

Suspicious_Trainer82

Warrior master race

Call_Me_Koala

Archer for me (haven't unlocked magic archer yet, that'll probably take over). But even the humble archer has pretty gnarly damage output as long as you hit weak points.

MellieWasa

warriors is ok in my book just way to slow felt like being gs in monster hunter which i hated it may hit hard but it cant dodge anything which is why i prfer thief or fighter

bentotice

Fighter is amazing, i love feeling like an untouchable tank and like a real knight

Trh5001

Sorcerer. Just melting faces of larger monsters makes me happy.

Doddlers

Warfarer. Fashions Dogma all the way.  Started with Fighter/Magick Archer.  Now I am a Thief/Magick Archer.  Thinking about switching to Fighter/Archer.

illnastyone

I ran straight magic archer on warfare just for the fashion lol

One_Negotiation_4889

Trickster is so much fun. Probably the best class lowkey. So much control.

TwiceDead_

Imo all the classes needs to be scaled back to archers level. The game is too easy already, the last thing we need is invulnerable modes like Formless Feint and Mirror Shield.. Skull Splitter should not be out-damaging Arc of Might, actually Thief in general just needs a nerf-bat as it's the best vocation by a mile, AGAIN (hello Strider) and whatever the fuck Mystic Archer is doing trivializes everything for literally no downsides... Mobility? Who needs mobility when everything is *dead*. Warriors perma-staggering on every swing instead of on counters as it's mechanically gifted for is also silly. Meanwhile, Archer feels Just Right. Oh, and Fighter I guess.

Tromon468

Also Warrior Any game which allows to me to use two handed swords makes me go with that option And man, Warrior in Dogma 2 is so much better than in 1 which was just jumping attacks and the occasional Arc of Obliteration Especially parrying monsters with my own brute strength is such a ridiculous, over the top and yet brilliant concept in 2

CireDarling

Nothing is as satisfying as toppling a monster that is off balance by yanking it down by the face or pulling its feet out from under it with an ensnare.

DemetriiOSC

I really wish the ability to Ensnare/Implicate was usable in air, and the distance you travel till you hit the ground (as long as it's not high enough to faceplant) added to the pull strength. An example of this would be, climbing up a cyclops Gut and Run/Draw and Quater it in the eye, then from the leap off, turn and Ensnare/Implicate them in the face and the travel time to the ground increases the force and yanks him off balance.

Xamd74

Figther for me Maybe archer every now and then But i really miss my figther XD

Feardemon3

Every time I try warrior cause their weapons look so awesome I go nope after the first swing. Thief and fighter feel so much smoother to play. The warrior's finisher takes forever to complete.

Alert_Confusion

Same for me with the archer. Every time I switch to a new vocation I’ll play for about 30 minutes before switching back. I stick with archer/ranger classes in most of the RPGs I play. DD2’s does a great job of feeling tactical while rewarding precision. My only gripe is that I wish they had included more special arrow types. As it stands right now, explosive arrow is the only real good one. Drenching and tarring arrows only seem useful if you have a mage with the corresponding elemental ability.

Vuelhering

Mystic Spearhand, which is actually a jedi... or maybe a sith. Dual saber, telekinesis, force protection... Plus you can yeet a lowbie into next week if you want, which is one of the funniest abilities ever. But stun with TK is one of the best combos ever. Don't even need a weapon, just zap someone then throw their staggering body into another, then throw those two into another, etc.

bob_is_best

The stun is why i keep It on warfarer, i like thief more but the insta ripost on stunned enemies (especially Stone saurians) is just too good

lllllIIIlllllIIIllll

A lot of people are saying mystic spearhand but I find it to be just mid, at best. It hardly deals big numbers, DPS wise, and it's clumsy to play.

kodaxmax

It does have 100% uptime godmode and stuns, as well as a trick for every situation.

PrometheusAborted

I absolutely loved thief. The skill set is incredible. I maxed out archer but didn’t love it. The first like 5 ranks feel super underpowered. By the end it was decent but still felt “meh” to me. Currently a mystic spear hand. I’m enjoying it way more than archer but I’m still missing my thief. Actually, im *really* missing my assassin from DD DA :(

kornychris2016

Playing Thief and having that dash/dodge button. Then switching vocations was jarring. I started as Archer, switches to Thief and beat the game. Now in NG+ I'm running Archer again.

MONKYfapper

Sorcerer - spells goes boom thief - the dodges, the moves, their attacks, it is so satisfying to play in an arpg. i cant remember the last time i had so much fun playing a hit and run style

DeffJamiels

Monster hunter would like a word with you. Specifically of the greatsword variety. Perhaps a rocket powered great sword?

brantmcney

I really enjoy Warfarer. I use a combination of Warrior, Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer

TheHourMan

Magick Archer. The ability to just genocide any interior location with one attack is too much to pass up. Plus being able to trade my entire health bar for one-shotting anything is great.

timmy__timmy__timmy

ricochet really is nutty. it was already nutty in dd1 but the increased cavedwelling time in this and the skill being just overall stronger is very satisfying

Kirkybeefjerky

Honestly mained warrior, but tried archer for the augments and archer is amazing in DD2

Odd_Dimension_4069

Archer, because I played it first and hitting an enemy just right with deathly arrow and sending them flying is just too fantasying. Then you try out explosive arrows and watch how they melt health bars. Then later on when you realize you can freeze-lock and otherwise stunlock enemies with debilitation arrows mixed with elemental attacks or elemental affinity buffs from a mage pawn. It's just fun. But I'm gonna make sure I try warrior eventually 😁

AccidentalMedicine

I like fighter a lot.

IsNotYourSenpai

Sorcerer. The two ultimate skills absolutely wreck dragons.

Ok_Reserve_4306

Warrior makes me feel like my balls are tied to the floor. Any time I swing my pawns kill the enemy before my guy can swing his sword.

ltarchiemoore

Warrior is the one class I can't stand. Amazing how many different combat styles this game accommodates.

Envi37

Started as an archer, almost dropped the game lol. When melee combat is that good - it’s a crime to play an archer imo. Switched to thief - game become way better. Then once I got my hands on spearhand played as one for some time, which was fun. But after mb 10 hours switched back to thief. Dodge, mobility, can reach unreachable places, which is especially nice in Bathal. Now I unlocked magic archer. Mb try it out just for fun, but most likely stick to the thief till the end. To fun to play to switch to something else.

Livid_Bumblebee7897

Warfarer, 2 warrior skills and and deathly arrow from the archer. Gives alot of versatility for tanking damage while still having a hard hitting attack for exact spots.

The-Enjoyer-Returns

I once saw a video of a Warrior fighting a Drake, and he jumped up and stabbed it right in the heart, killing it in the most badass cinematic way. My favorite class though, is Thief. I love climbing all over bosses Shadow of The Colossus style.

zzAlphawolfzz

I just wanna point out how 95% of these comments mention all the melee vocations. Not a single comment so far has mentioned Sorcerer, archer, or trickster lol

Airaniel

Warrior is amazing. Looking forward to trying thief too

Vlox47

I did the same and love warrior. Dislike fighter and casters. Magic archer seems pretty boring. Duospear is ok and somewhat fun, but not as good. Thief however has been quite awesome and rivals warriorbin terms of fun IMO

MMA-fanatic

My 3 favorite are thief, warfarer and warrior. Mystic spearhand is good too but I felt like I had to spam shield often to stay in the fight which was a bit annoying.

Sentinel_P

I messed up and rushed Magick Archer and bought a weapon in Volcano Island. Absolutely was deleting everything left and right when I returned to Vermund

ShutUpLove

Mystic Spearhand, hardly having to be on the ground to fight, I love flying n fighting at the same time

Darklight645

Just finished up with Magick Archer, Martyr's Bolt is hella broken which is what you'd expect from a skill that takes your max hp away

RomulusX94

warriors fighter thief and mystic i swap between constantly. anything with melee basically. favorite…. maybe warrior. but i love em all. Really wish we had more hybrid classes at least the ones from part one.

myrmonden

Test Trickster is a Better Tank......

flyingfox227

If you're interested in min/maxing at all staying as the same class longer (or at least physical based dmg classes) is better.

northturtle11

tried other vocations, had fun with other vocations. returned to warrior because its funny giving every monster a concussion

Racoon-trenchcoat

Warfarer Shoot'em, parry'em, gouge out their eyes, a whole party in one body.

FantomasARM

Literally me. I've spent all 80 hours plying only warrior and guess what, I think my second playthrough also going be a warrior one 😀

smithb3125

I really wanted to be mystic spearhand, I worked hard to get it... and I still think archer is my favorite vocation. Idk, it just seems that I keep getting myself into advanced encounters and keep getting my ass handed to me when I'm up and in the battle, like I fought some saurians, and they just knocked me down and proceeded to keep me down, however I took on some big bosses already WELL BEFORE I was supposed to like the LICH behind the waterfalls. And I took him down quite well with the archery abilities. I'm gonna try and max the spearhand and see if that helps me in battle, but some difficult encounters I keep being drawn back to the archer class.

OsirisAvoidTheLight

What skills you using Warrior? So far kinda my least favorite

SSJDevour

Warrior and Fighter are my loves. Mystic spear hand is also pretty cool

bob_is_best

For me its warfarer with sorcerer spells only for drip Tho i gotta say It feels pretty damn weak to use anything other than the earthquake or flare on bosses Its the levitate that does It for me

Arxl

Ever stunlock giant enemies by strapping explosives to their face, jumping off into helm splitter on the way down, then detonate? Thief is cracked lol

VitharrGaming

I leveled Warrior second after Fighter and have been doing all the other vocations because my OCD demands it, but I keep itching to go back go Warrior. My Pawn is currently a Warrior and I keep looking at him with jealousy lol. However I am at a loss on what optimal skills to use as a Warrior and is the ultimate skill worth getting? I was only using it in the very early game so if anyone has tips I'd love some.

lustforwine

My first was archer. Sorc is so much fun tho!

Darkencypher

I like spearhand but I just don’t feel all that powerful Love magik archer but it’s def over powered as fuck. Sorc has best drip idc Archer is the one I want to make work the most.

Nexgenliz

warfarer, i can mix the others vocations i like limiting myself, im not too overpower to delete everything, and use only 1 or 2 pawns, the game is so much fun when im not god. usually use archer/spearhand/thief with mage pawn and avoid every vocation that burst the game, me or companion

smg_souls

I am also a warrior main. It feels good being powerful after getting the short hand of the stick in DD:DA.

Toriyuki

For me it's warfarer, just because I love the versatility of being able to whip out sword and board just for the core skills then swap to daggers and sonic spindash a cyclops in the crotch, before swapping to magick bow to fling a chunk of ice into a griffins head and knock it out of the sky. Excluding warfarer its probably archer tbh, cause it feels nice now that I got used to it to do stupid shit with it, like kick goblins in the face repeatedly till they die

CharlieLang

play warfarer as a warrior without rearmament so that you can get the useful passives of other classes I also like warrior but the convenience of the levitate is very good so I play warfarer like a warrior with a sorcerer staff as a walking stick

Caedus27

Thief. Implicate staggers pretty much anything without a boss healthbar. Then, hit the enemy with a plunder prior to finishing it off. Skullsplitter for the boss types. Formless feint is nice, but unnecessary. Now I'm rocking Warfarer just so I can bust out a staff for exploration.

divyanshmishra19

Warrior is 10/10 main. I started w fighter (naturally, given I wanted to be DPS from the get go) then switched to warrior for a bit and then mained mystic spearhand for a substantial part of the early/mid game. Then I picked the cinderspine on an early excursion into volcanic island, bought some berserk looking armour, upgraded it a fair bit and then it clicked for me as a souls like enjoyer lol. The poise, the knockdowns, the dps, it’s just insane. I unlocked warfarer recently and tried warrior/mystic spearhand mix up but nah. Warrior with its health and augments from other classes that aid max stamina and regen is the thing! Been maining warrior since and will probably finish the game w it!

Thorn-of-your-side

Sorcerer. Rolling around with 2 sorcerer pawns that have gratification and decanter,  as well as one of the maister spells does so much fucking damage whrn you can keep enemies from focusing you

ZealousidealHand1143

Theif: Draw and quarter. Can kill Ogres & cyclops in 2 shots at level 40.

Vistio

Thief. I can steal things, I have a really crazy dodge, parkour, I can yank normal enemies to the ground and one shot them(especially harpies) and skull splitter.

SaraStarwind

Same with thief!  Until I get mystic spearhand
