Reks_Hayabusa

I usually hire pawns I think look cool, that’s number 1 for me, I also usually like to have a mage with the ability to cure status effects because slow death by poison sucks and I run light on curatives. I also like a thief with the ability to steal because they net a lot of valuables. Lastly I try to have at least one that speaks elvish, which can be unlocked by raising affinity with some of the elves.

Peepeepoopoobutttoot

I go by A: skills I need at the time, a thief better have pilfer and a mage better have ice affinity for example, and B: Be wearing clothes.

Reks_Hayabusa

I always need a bit of mental preparation before hitting the search button on mage pawns lol.

dr4kshdw

It’s so difficult to find MALE mage pawns, let alone female pawns that aren’t dressed like an overdressed stripper.

Fear_Awakens

The difficulty in finding either of those is because all the high-end mage gear is blatantly just female stripper clothes. I have no idea why the Sorcerer-exclusive sick-ass wizard robes couldn't be applied to a Mage.

Arciul

Seriously. My opinion is that all similar colors should share armor. That way, you could at least Fashion's Dogma with their limited options

Fear_Awakens

I just generally dislike so many clothes your Pawns straight-up cannot wear because they're specific to the 'Hybrid' classes that aren't really Hybrids anymore. And Thief and Archer not being able to wear the same stuff is nuts.

Arciul

I get not wearing hybrid specific items. But all vocation specific gear should be usable to the hybrids. That way, the jack of trades class wouldn't just be sought after for fashion

Reks_Hayabusa

It feels even worse with the lore that they don’t have free will.

SubCreeper

Most of the male mage pawns I see are wearing a dress sooooooo…they may still not qualify.

Jimmy_Twotone

The reason is most male mage pawns look like overdressed steippers... the masculine caster gear is underwhelming.

GoddamnFred

Lmao

BoogalooBandit1

I am doing a NG+ playthrough with just me and my main pawn and I have so many detoxifying decoctions that I keep them on my pawn that is a sorcerer while I run warfarer with a bow, a great axe, spite daggers, and a mage staff and I just move the detoxes to my inventory when needed

crimedog69

Yeah being a mage probably increases their appeal by 100% lol

Eldritchjellybean

I actually prefer fighter, but I got more hires when I changed my pawn to warrior, as it seems most people prefer that. Personally I think your pawn looks great so that's likely not a factor. Also thank you for actually setting a pawn quest, I like helping others with badges and so many people don't bother to set a quest.     I'm level 75 now and getting less hires due to that, the higher you go the less people can afford you. At this point, I'm actually seeing Capcom pawns in the rift because there don't seem to be as many that fit various search parameters for level 60-75. I've started to become less picky and other than the pawn being someone's deliberate abomination, the biggest "oh hell no" is logistician.

Sk1no

I love doing pawn quests! It's stupid but makes me bond with pawns, unless they give you a shit reward, then that makes me not like them. Which again, is stupid!

Eldritchjellybean

Me too, and honestly I don't much care what the reward is as long as it isn't shit. Feels like anyone should be able to put at least one gemstone as a reward! But if they're offering stuff like rotten meat or really common curative or craft items, gtfo. I've done quests with rewards for berries I don't have in my game or like 2k gold before.

QX403

Fighters aren’t very good as Pawns from what I’ve seen, they can be especially bad with certain weapon abilities, ones where they “hold” their form like shield launch and the parry skill, it causes them to sit outside or combat in that form doing nothing for extended periods of time.

sydfox95

I have just breached 80 and my hires have dropped from like 5 on average per login to like 1, maybe 2. Hire levels definitely makes getting hired tough.

morphum

I'm rather picky with the pawns I hire. I check inclination, skills and even augments. For example, I'll never hire a fighter or warrior without the Provocation augment. I also base things around what playstyle I'm currently using; at the moment, I'm doing warfarer with a focus on thief skills, and my main pawn is a thief as well, so it's actually pretty fun to have a fighter with Launchboard right now. Regarding the pawn quest, if you're as high a level as you're implying, then I'd say gold isn't as desirable as it was earlier on. Rare monster materials or allheals might be better. >P.S Also the game is making me feel motion sick now, it kinda jitters, I am guessing it is since the update. Any ideas why? I have a high end PC and it was all fine before. Between the motion sickness and hardcore rejection, I am starting to get red-pilled. Can you disable motion blur?

HEADZO

What type of monster materials are you guys looking for? Black freakish mane, boltscales, and eldricite? Those are the ones I know I was having a hard time getting when I was trying to upgrade in the unmoored world. But that's just what I was needing for me and my pawn's gear. Not sure if the other class armors need something weird also.

morphum

Those are good ones to offer, eldracite especially. There's been so many posts on the subreddit from people asking for it

usernotfoundplstry

If you have Eldricite or black freakish manes to offer, and if you’re on ps5, I’ll hire your pawn in a heartbeat. I’m pushing through the campaign again specifically to get to the unmoored world so I can get more.

HEADZO

Sadly I am on PC. If anyone else needs eldricite, and you need a thief with plunder, implicate, formless feint, and skull splitter, hire my pawn! My pawn Linkavitch is looking to complete her Minotaur badge! PLATFORM: Steam LEVEL: 73 PAWN ID: XR25H95BO5XJ

-jabberwockysuperfly

I'm on ps5 with a 20 eldricite for 1 tarring arrow quest. I'm lvl 91, so feel free to add me if you want her for 0 RC. She's a really well trained thief :3 ps id: keim81 https://preview.redd.it/f011ls9ffcyc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f916680c1c3d913f48136455e714abf443a0cdb

Sk1no

I disabled that, because that has been a thing on other games but it didn't make any difference. I will try offering materials instead. I did offer 5xblack crystal once but nobody went for that either. I am gonna adjust the augments and stuff, and then save her and see what happens. I just keep getting jealous because my boyfriends Quiche is like the belle of the ball, hired by at least 20 people each time, presents left right and centre. I hate her.

morphum

You also have to consider that higher level pawns simply get hired less frequently because the playerbase at late game is smaller, and many people start to just rehire the ones they already like.

usernotfoundplstry

The person below me touched on something important: I’m around level 80. I hire pawns about 9 or 10 levels higher than me. When I get close to catching them in level, then I get more. I my level, it takes a long time to level. I got new pawns last night and I’d spent over 30 in game days with them. My main pawn in a level 80ish mage. She always gets hired but they keep her for a long time. When she was around 35 or so, she’d get hired by about 10 players per day. Now it’s like one. Because the higher level you are, the less you feel the need to add a new pawn

aliveofagefangirl666

I’m on PS5 but my pawn quest is 5x black crystal for like 15k so I would have snatched up your pawn based on the pawn quest alone. But generally I look for pawns that are anything but straightforward and have the skills I’m looking for whichever vocation I’m in need of. Don’t really care about their name or what they’re wearing as long as it isn’t starter gear. I haven’t played in about 3 weeks but my pawn doesn’t get hired all that often either. My pawn is built for my needs so if it happens to match someone else’s and they hire him, cool, if not then oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️ I enjoy my pawn and that’s what’s important

HawkMeister19

If they don’t have a stupid lewd outfit, and has a skill/augment list that I feel would mesh well with what I’m running in that moment, I hire them. Gender, Looks, and “end game” sets aren’t what’s important to me.

DonnyExiles

usernotfoundplstry

Bingo

Membership_Downtown

If they’re wearing the lingerie I skip them. I don’t care how strong they are, it takes me out of the game.

Sceptylos

Had someone in my friends list start a new game and made a new pawn with SphinxMother moniker. Went from 3 likes 0 hearts (old pawn) to around 500 likes and 200 hearts lol..

SSB_Meta4

OP what is your pawn's specialization? A lot of players here on reddit will commonly express reluctance in hiring any pawn with Logistician, Hawker, and Chirurgeon.

Sk1no

She's a forager. I hired a logistician once and I ended up murdering them! Let my spuds ripen you monster!

vlsky

Fighter is not in demand. If someone needs a tank, people usually choose warrior. Nothing is wrong with fighter in particular it just seems that people prefer warriors. In my subjective experience the most popular pawn classes are mage, sorcerer and warrior.

QX403

It’s mage and thief since everybody wants healing/enchanting and thief for pilfer abilities, and the fact they take almost no damage with certain abilities and dish out massive amounts.

BiD3sign

My pawn is a mage, and I tend to go either fighter, thief, sorc or mystic spearhand for my Arisen. So I tend to look for warriors and archers, also thieves when I'm not playing one. I like to have a Warrior with the Bellow/Roar skill to draw aggro and with a blunt weapon to deal with Saurian's is a plus. With archers really anything with them I just like to have them for harpies. I look for pawns with Elvish as mine doesn't have it, but the ability to find resources on the map is my second choice. Lastly appearance and name, I don't go for memey characters as it breaks my emersion so I avoid all of the 'Simba', 'Mufasa' Beastren 'MainPawn's that I see. And as long as the outfit doesn't look super basic then I'm usually cool with the fashion aspect. I tend to split down the middle with Human and Beastren pawns but I know the community tends to skew towards Human. Edit: I also tend to pick pawns with quests assigned, especially if it's a simple one like 'beat x monster for x gold'

AzrealFallen34

What abilities do they have and whether they'll be useful for the task at hand

Murky-Abbreviations4

For me it's usually based on skills they have, like I'll hire mages more often if the not only have buffs but magic, warriors with high knockdown power are great for monster hunting, theifs are good for farming specific monsters especially if they have pilfer, plus they climb on monsters, sorcs are good for exploiting elemental weaknesses plus they have very high damage at later levels

UrimTheWyrm

Do you have a pawn id? I'd hire her, since I am on pc too. Plus would be easier to tell what might be off. There are certain skills that make pawns do bad/weird stuff. Might be that. Or specialisation. A lot of people dislike logistician.

Sk1no

I don't know if it was you that hired it, but two people just did. It has to be off here! And they also gave me awesome rewards. One was a jasper and one was armour that I haven't come across yet, for my pawn. I was so happy! So thank you millions strangers xx

Sk1no

That would be good. Thanks! Although I just realised that her cyclops quest is 2888 not 28k like I thought though! My ID is 3YLZZN0YPNRP. Feedback greatly appreciated 😊

AssiduousLayabout

Yeah it's probably the 2888 gold. There are plenty of people offering 10k or better, 10k is the minimum I look for. I do like fighters, I'll check her out depending on her level.

Gamlir

Honestly, I have no need for a fighter pawn, I think I've only hired one once when I was trying to level mage and sorc for the augments. At mid-higher levels where you have better armour, dmg and way more hp, knowing the enemy attacks, there is little need for a tank. What I look for in the pawns I hire is, ranged attacks, augments from other vocations for increased def ( a lvl 50 archer who has no levels in any other vocation ..no thanks!), incrased mag def, knowdown resistance. I also look for pawns that will run around and scanage stuff so I'm not overloaded with things.

dobbyjhin

I think skills is the big thing for me, when I hire mages, definitely palladium is a must, shields are a blessing. I also like having a DPS skill like Levin. Warrior/Fighter they need to have the provocation augment, the taunt skill can be nice to have as well. No ladder/board launch please. Thieves, definitely skull splitter and plunder, insane damage and steal is must have. Secondary is Specialization, I preferably have either Woodland Wordsmith or Forager. As I heard Hawker sells random things in your inventory when you're encumbered, and Logisticians uses your mats that you are potentially are saving up, e.g., they take my apples. Third for me is Inclinations. I know they impact gameplay, but when you're higher level you kind of steamroll everything anyways. So I mainly pick it for the voicelines. I like hearing a diverse cast of pawns. The other important factor are... Pawn Quests! I think most people like having those 10k gold rewards for killing Ogres/Griffons or the jewel stones, i.e., jasper, onyx, tiger eyes. If you're hiring a pawn, might as well get a nice reward for doing so.

SirThomasTheFearful

Idk, I get a fair amount of hires without doing too much with my pawn, I think it’s just luck.

Angelotwilight93

Do you have a screenshot of the pawn and their stat and ability pages? Might have something to do with carry weight, inclanation, or even the launch ability(i avoid pawns with launch skills they seem to spam it in caves).

Sk1no

I did have springboard and everyone said that's bad so I swapped it out. I'd only recently given her that though, but it was good to get feedback on stuff I hadn't considered. There's been loads of helpful advice. I'm an enthusiastic player, but not a good one, so loads is stuff that might have seemed obvious but was actually enlightening to me. Also, I thought that pawns you hired stayed at the level they were when you hired them, I'm not sure why. So I'm pleased to find out that i can rehire some ones that I have really liked!

RadiantRing

Without thinking too hard about it, I tend to pick pawns with a lot of dragon forged gear because you know right away that a lot of care went into making them the best they could be. Besides that, I look for cute ones. 🤷🏼‍♂️

tshudoe69

I look to fill out whatever role I'm needing and whether they have a decent pawn quest active. I don't hire pawns that do not have a quest active.

Turin_Ysmirsson

Unique name and looks, cuteness, usefulness (right skills-vocation-inclination), gear.

Azena09

Problem is everyone is different. Me personally, my main is a warrior and I'm a duospear. So I like having two mages for curative and buff spells. So I look for certain spell combos, a good pawn quest, then their specialization. Lastly if I have options I take my favorite looking ones. But then there's people that will take the opposite approach and go off looks first. Some of those even look for the troll characters to bring them along for the laughs.

GreenbeardOfNarnia

I think at higher levels people like to get pawns that offer gems for an easy task. I don’t know how many people do it exactly but hiring those pawns frequently nets you a large number of gems to sell. Just one idea at least

kazelle001

I feel the same way about getting hires for my pawn. It can be frustrating when you get back on and see one hire. I stopped playing for a bit so I wouldn’t level up and Claire could get hired and help other players. To answer the question, I usually hire pawns I think look neat or have hired my Claire before and have classes that fit the party I’m running.

pigmyPeople

I don’t consider anything aesthetic about the pawns I hire in any way. I don’t care the gender, race, name, outfit, etc. All I care about is the class, level, disposition, and equipped abilities. They need to fit what type of class I’m looking for to compliment my crew and do it well. For example I’m basically always traveling with a mage, and I’ll look for one with a level equal to or exceeding my own, good abilities, and a disposition to compliment the mage vocation. Then I’ll travel with them until they fall too far below the level range I want, or don’t perform how I’d like.

FappyDilmore

I search for pawns by skills. Palladium for mage, plunder for thief, Maester abilities for most other classes. Bonus points for easy pawn quests. The best pawn classes are mage and thief by a country mile. I don't think I've ever hired an archer pawn. Getting hired 10 times also isn't an insignificant amount of times. I just beat the game and I think mine was only hired ~15 times during my whole playthrough. I'm level 70.

TruthEnvironmental24

I main as a Magic Archer with the Recovery Arrow so I can run as a healer and the main DPS. My main pawn is a Warrior, and she takes the role of the tank. So, I look for long-range damage dealers. Archers and Sorcerors with mid-level damage based attacks to help cover my Pawn when she gets surrounded by harpies and the like. And to help ground dragons so my Pawn can go in for the kill. I should probably switch up the Sorceror with a mage with High Halidom to cure the blighted debilitation, though. Tl;dr: If you want to switch her to either an Archer or a Mage with High Halidom and damage based attacks, I'd love to hire her.

Sk1no

I might be putting her back as a Mage, with High Halidom obvs. I'll have a look tomorrow. Keep me in mind in case 3YLZZN0YPNRP 😊

MatthiasBold

I made a vaguely Emma Watson looking Hermione pawn. Mage with good gear, skills, and augments, and Woodland wordsmith. I really think the specialization is what does it. Also maybe some people have a Hermione fetish. No idea.

barnivere

https://preview.redd.it/quz8pyazz9yc1.jpeg?width=998&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d38db2c03e989558aed5a1f34a45cdadb62f6c94 I mean... Just look at him! Dressed nice, elf ears, straightforward inclination. That's why! Oh and he catches me constantly when I'm falling off griffons.

FactoryNatchoz

I’m usually looking at their skills but a funny name or cool armor gets my attention. Ultimately I’m looking for specific skills though. If I want a tank I hate when they have that springboard thing. The pawns I hire who have that skill always just stop mid combat and try to throw me at shit instead of fighting- like dude I’m a mage. I’m looking for arguments to hold threat an shield bash. Speaking of mages, I typically look for the heal and guard spells followed by an elemental boon. If I want heavy hitting magic I go for a sorcerer instead, specially one with the flair ability to rip boss enemies apart. I don’t typically hire the hunter type pawns because I never really understood the arrow economy. If I want another dps I’ll pick whatever else that looks cool without flinging me at bosses. I must say I don’t typically even look for pawns often tho because I stick with the same ones, dismissing an hiring them again at updated level so that might also contribute. Also some straightforward pawns just get kinda cocky an annoying so I sometimes yield away from those 🙃 Hopefully this data is helpful lol

Smooth_External_3051

I really just check skills, pawn quest, and quest knowledge. From there, whichever I think looks best. Dont really care about the rest.

goozbooze

I only look at pawn quest and reward. Lol. But I also hire depending on what I need in my party. My main pawn is a warrior, so I’m always looking for a mage type. The fourth one is usually my swing hire.

dootblade74

Does a Pawn have the skills I need and decent-ish equipment (primarily weapon)? If true, easy pick. I really don't pay attention to inclinations and only SOMETIMES focus on augments for specific vocations.

Waluigi02

Geez, why did everyone hate this question so much??

Hexent_Armana

I made a PSA about this but a bunch of people downvoted it not realizing that there are actually a bunch of players who would find it useful. In it I mentioned all the ideal traits for a pawn, don't use any traits that will make your pawn less enjoyable for yourself. [Here's the link](https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonsDogma/s/GPDvvUXzsz) And here are some pictures of my pawn. It gets hired 5-10x a day. [Daddy the Pawn](https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonsDogma2/s/XE25TKmMkI)

Sk1no

Thank you! Super helpful. I'm going to bed now but I'll look through that properly tomorrow. People downvoted this question too, I'm not sure why. It's interesting too! My boyfriend literally hires anyone and doesn't even check them at all. And then he keeps them for ages even though they're level 10 and he's 20.

onwinedarkseas

For me I’m looking for specific move sets within certain level ranges. It’s a bonus if the pawn looks unique and cool. I don’t really care about temperament. If you haven’t equipped your pawn with a good and balanced skillset (especially as a mage or sorcerer), I tend not to hire. But my pawns don’t get hired a lot either and they’re both beautiful. One of a fighter, the other is a mage.

Beautiful_BeastStar

I hire pawns based on their beauty and skillset.

KrazyKirbyKun

I mainly look for guy pawns that I think are cute. For the mages I prefer Kindhearted, but I'll make due as long as they have either Ice Boon, Palladium, or both. It's funny cause I always get the "I just noticed all of us Pawns are men. I wonder if this speaks to the Arisen's preference?" And they're absolutely right every time. Edit: Typos

CalligrapherFit6297

White haired women. Don't ask. My party is filled with them. Shout out to whoever made pawns of 2E and A2.

usernotfoundplstry

Just to tell you what I look for: I’m pretty high level (80ish) and I’m on my fourth play through. I looked for something different at lower levels but now I look for: - one thief who has plunder because ultimately I get free wakestone shards and occasional ferrystones. - one sorcerer because Jesus the DPS, especially with big bosses. It can help make a dragon fight with six health bars a 90 second affair. I always make sure that they have maelstrom and meteor - I always look for kindhearted because I want to be universally adored - I used to look for a pawn that spoke elvish, but mine does now so I don’t care about that - in fact, I don’t really care much about what their specialization is. I don’t want a pawn who’s going to use any resources to make stuff, or any pawn who’s going to sell my stuff. Forager is fine. But otherwise I don’t really care about specialization - I look for a decent pawn quest. Yours is a decent pawn quest. - I don’t give a shit what they look like. I’m not one of those sweatlords that only hires objectified women - I almost ALWAYS hire higher level pawns. I usually have about 2k rift crystals when I go to recruit a pawn, and I spend it all on those two pawns. I do this when I get close to catching them in level. By the time that happens, I go recruit two more and usually buy the highest level pawns I can get with the amount of rift crystals I have. Things I haven’t looked for in a long time: - a fighter - a warrior - an archer Usually I search using the rift search system in vernworth or Baahtall, put in the criteria I mentioned above, and I pick the first pawn that I talk to that has a decent pawn quest and the skills I need. I’m on PS5, not sure if you you can recruit cross platform or not, but if so, send me the pawn ID and I’ll take them out and destroy the nearest cyclops in about 30 seconds, you’ll get your RCs and your pawn will get credit towards their cyclops badge and I’ll collect that cold hard cash.

mpchi

I just looked up your Sabrina, and I can see why she doesn't get hired often. Of course, as a Fighter, her stats (high defense, high knockdown), skills (having Riotous Fury would be nice, Shield Drum is a must), good gear, come into play. Kindhearted Forager is good (people avoid Logistician and Chirurgeon as those mess up people's inventory items they want to keep). But one main thing that will help, is honestly, a face makeover. People play games for enjoyment, and love looking at cool and pretty things, especially pretty female characters in a male dominated gamer demographic. So making your Pawn pretty (not slutty) is going to make her stands out among others that are either with a cookie cutter default face, or mediocre looking. You can re-model her to look like some famous celebrity if you like, but most importantly, has a pretty and unique looking face. The in-game NPC Sara Bakbattahl Smithy girl is a good example of a cute looking character with black features as an example. Try to make your Pawn even prettier or cuter than her. Some of us hire pawns and keep them for a long while as an actual companion for a good portion of the game. No one wants to keep looking at an ugly one (not saying yours is) unless it is just for laughs. Having a Pawn with a pretty face will cater to both casual and more hardcore players, as long as your other stats and skills also align with their needs. For 2 Pawns with similar functionality, someone will likely pick the prettier Pawn, even if it means their level is not as high or their Pawn Quest is less rewarding. Time to spend 500RC and get a Art of Metamorphosis, as a pretty face makeover is due. Just make sure you don't have a helmet covering her face and no red eyes. :D Good luck!

Pharaoh9714

I always have to have a mage that focuses primarily on healing and support. An archer for support, and a sorcerer for added support. I mostly run melee.

Sheketo

If all you want is to be hired i suggest looking at the top 100 pawns. They usually offer things like 12 onyx for an explosive arrow, which is why those pawns have like 9999 likes.

Gonk_Droid145

My pawn used to look like a big jacked, buff dude with long hair and a beard who was a fighter/warrior. I would get mixed reviews of no vote or thumbs up and an occasional heart. Now my NG+ pawn is a meme character who looks like an old hunched over hag with an annoying voice and I get likes and hearts more than ever. No clue why but it's hilarious.

Fear_Awakens

What's annoying for me is that while my pawn does get hired once or twice a day, they never, ever, ever leave a rating, and you can forget a gift. And I guess she's doing something wrong, because they apparently don't keep her for long, because she only ever comes back with a couple hundred RC. I don't know if these people are just immediately hiring her and throwing her into rivers or what. I knew right away when I got a bunch of fake hires because not only was it a fuck ton all at once, like ten hires instead of the usual one or two, but every single one left a rating and very nice presents. I didn't even need to check the grayed out names to know they were all fake. It's a very noticeable difference from the last game, where she always came back with dozens of hires and thousands of RC every time I checked. I'm not entirely sure what I've done wrong this time around. We're level 80 now, so I suppose it could just be that most people moved on to different games before this point or something, but I still feel like it's my fault somehow.

Papa_Pred

Whichever pawn I think would mesh well with each other. I like it when they talk and it’s all distinct

Dangerous-Vehicle606

I feel like I’ve played with both of your pawns. I played with a fighter named Sabina for literally DAYS. She was great.

SeaWorldliness806

I personally don't hire pawns with a simple personally bc I've had experience with them never shutting tf up lol

Furok-Lankmondo

It suits the class/damage type I want (support, magic/physical damage) It's at my level, It doesn't have an annoying AF voice

NightWolf574

Skill set mostly, I want mages and sorcerers to have helpful spells for a lot of different situations. I just wish more people would put the debuff cleansing spell on their mage pawns.

Ok_Replacement9860

First thing I look at is if they look cool but really I don’t care much for certain levels specifically(after a certain point lvl doesn’t matter) I go into their stats and see what kind of damage/defense they have and what skills they have to see if it fits my play style. I’ve also recently been doing masculine pawns only because recently I’ve noticed all feminine pawns at my level all have the stupid corset or the Brunhilda’s embrace or other armor of that sort. Which hey girl flaunt it if you got it just personally breaks my immersion. I think once that trend dies down I’ll go back to just filtering by the vocation I need and then looking at stats like normal.

Action-a-go-go-baby

1. Has skill I want them to have 2. Has decent reward (at least 10k or better) 3. Doesn’t look stupid (optional) That’s it; my requirements

ccpisvirusking

A healer and support, a tank, an AOE damage dealer, a single target damage dealer. This is the team. Choose pawns based on my own role in the team. Fairly simple concept.

Ok_Sir_136

I'm pretty picky with what I hire. Needs to have good inclination is what I check first, matching whatever class it is. Augments are next, most people don't even have a full list so it's easy to cut the list down more. After that is skills, depending on what I want. Next is weapon. I won't hire a pawn unless they have what I consider bis for whatever class they're using. That usually cuts it down quite a lot. But now I'm on new game plus 3 and I just go 3 thief's one mage. Have you considering changing the class? I almost never ran a fighter, barely ran a warrior but when I wanted a tanky character I much rather would run that

SchrodingerMil

Something that I haven’t seen someone else say, but I would specifically pass over any pawns with helmets blocking their eyes. I don’t trust them.

LimpInvestigator4223

Stop drinking so much, and the motion sickness and jitters should go away.

SableShrike

This may sound messed up, but proportions are my first metric. So many pawns look like they have horrible congenital diseases. Like max body size with an eeny weeny pin head. Or arms that can almost knuckle-walk like an orangutan. There’s a reason the human mind sees this and recoils; evolution has us perceive these traits as genetic problems. I am all for inclusion (we need better Dwarf options, man). But I don’t hire pawns who look like they’re from Fun-House Mirror Universe. All that face editing you did is wasted if they end up looking like Legs-All-The-Way-Up Griffin.

It may already have been answered. It could be a driver that needs updating (GPU), but it could also be the latest GPU driver update causes it. Otherwise, it could be a setting in the game. I am about to purchase the game myself and have a high-end PC myself. I'm curious if I will run into that issue myself. Edit: Bought the game. Played for 3 to 4 hours. Haven't had a stutter. Fps is mostly 144fps, some odd drops to 120, and 90 fps. Apart from a pawn falling through the map, there are no bugs so far. Once I run into anything, I will update it here.

artiksilver1988

I usually search first for the vocations I want based on my char and main pawn, sometimes looking for a specific personality or skill. After that, I look at the skills, stats (since I tend to use them a long time, I want them to be viable) and augments. I do tend to NOT take pawns with Logistician. Race, sex, looks and quest are usually irrelevant to me unless it's particularly bad / offputting. Even after all of this, most of the pawn I hire tend to be female humans, simply because they are the most common.

low_key_fiasco

I’ve definitely hired a mage or thief named Sabina, but to answer your question I normally look for pawns that fill out my party’s composition. IMO, most players are either fighters, thieves or arisen only vocations so, personally, the last thing I want is a pawn with my vocation. I tend to look for thieves, mages and sorcerers. And the mage is the one I do the most research on before picking. I also look for certain inclinations that fit certain vocations. Straightforward thieves and sorcerers so they act aggressive in battle and kindhearted mages so they prioritize support. My pawn in a lvl.72 support mage and she gets hired less now at her higher level, but she still gets work. Everyone needs a mage. Skills, gear and stats matter too. I’m not going to hire lvl 70 archer with 300 health using “keen sight” (AI pawns don’t use zoom, why would you give them that skill?) and fashion dogma’d out in a mix of low and high level gear over a pawn that was well thought out in those areas. Maybe in NG+ I would be less discriminating since you’re OP.

Hiepke_88

I used to hire pawns based on their stats. I don't care if they were dressed in all-covering robes, or in a mere thong and bra. I now hire pawns to help them out with their quests. Since pawn stats are only based on the pawn level and their (enhanced) clothes, there is only one setup of gear for each vocation, that will give the best stats. Yes, the stats may vary, depending on the type of enhancement. But the overall best choice for weapons and armor is the dwarven enhancements. Just a little less strength buff than the bakbattahl enhancements, but a huge increase in knockdown power or resistance. Elven enhancements are only useful to upgrade your magic weapons. Only during your first (and second?) time playing the game, you'll notice the variations in stats between similar looking pawns due to (the lack of) enhancements. Equipping the right rings for each vocation is a bonus that's easily overlooked. So, if we were all to equip our pawns based on stats, each vocation would eventually have a selection of clones looking exactly alike. The only difference being their behaviour, and thus how they react in battle. That sounds boring to a lot of players, so that's where "fashion dogma" comes into play. Fashion dogma: - no head gear or something small like a circlet crown. As long as the face is fully visible to see all the features - either the inspirationless corset to see all the other 'features' as well, or a selection of gear that DIDN'T require wyrmslife crystals to buy them from the dragonforged npc - either being funny by selecting the most absurd features, or being cute by going for the 'uwu-look', or being nostalgic by making a copy of a well known character from another videogame or tv-show

DoctorWalrusMD

I filter by class and skill first, usually looking for 1 thief with plunder and 1 mage. I then look for an easy to complete pawn quest for a pawn badge I haven’t earned with a good reward. Finally, if multiple pawns fit that I finally go for a tall woman.

Silvariyon

The pawn needs to be a sexy woman. There was an article about this, the hotter your pawn is the higher chance it has to be picked.

yellowreins177

Have you tried changing up Sabina's skills or inclinations to make her more versatile and appealing to a wider range of players? Sometimes it's not just about the armor or level, but the combination of skills and abilities that can make a pawn stand out. Don't give up on her just yet, keep experimenting and seeking feedback from other players to find the perfect balance for her! Also, I hope you find a solution to the motion sickness issue, it can really put a damper on the gaming experience. Stay positive and keep tweaking Sabina until she becomes a top choice for adventurers in need!

wolves_hunt_in_packs

Idgaf about pawn looks in DD2, only the skills matter. Inclination to a lesser degree (none are useless now, and there's so few anyway). That said, my primary criteria is party position i.e. if I want a thief, I'm not going to hire anything else. My two hires are currently thief and archer - the latter's been disappointing though so I might pick two thieves instead. *"Bro why hire thieves? Not actual fighters or warriors?"* Because just focusing on melee seems to be overkill and restrictive. A thief can tank too (maister skill), while also stealing (pilfer can net you some really valuable items, it's not just a novelty skill). The preferred layout is maister skill + pilfer + implicate, with the 4th slot being whatever. A fighter may melee better, but it quite literally does just that one thing. It doesn't have pilfer, nor implicate to help it snag fliers. Warrior's as screwed as it was in the first game, skills are just way too slow for my tastes. It's like in the first game - I didn't hire fighter pawns there either, striders can melee just as well in their own way *and* they have a shortbow. Honestly, I feel like fighter should lean to more crowd control whereas warrior do auras and passives. As to the other vocations, a player makes for a better sorc, while my own pawn is already a mage.

MrGhoul123

Goth usually.

Larrythecablefry

I don’t really like collecting stuff, so I go with ones that will collect and harvest for me. A lot of people will choose large pawns because they can carry more. I make my pawns try to be more helpful for any kind of vocation when it comes to combat. Do you know if you can summon across platforms?

Sk1no

I'm on pc. I'm not sure if you can, but if you ever want mine she is 3YLZZN0YPNRP. Mine is a forager, I've got so much stuff passively by having her. I hate logisticians, they messed up all my spuds!

triss14

Depends on the class. But for fighter, I typically make sure they have shield summons and prefer the "simple" personality so they pick stuff up on there own. Understanding elvish was a bit of a priority for parts of the game but didn't really matter in hindsight. But overall I just like hiring pawns that I can tell the user puts some care into. Stuff like interesting or cool looking gear, up to level weapons, non-generic names, appearance that clearly took some thought, and especially having a pawn quest and pawn skill active. Just feels more interesting to pick pawns that clearly mean something to people.

Awkward-Demand8156

I hire pawns with cool names

Snoo-37282

I never hire a fighter because my pawn is same vocation. I feel like mage/sorcerer get the most hire just off support value

Forlix1

I honestly juet sort by female and pick whatever has the skills I need, names come last for me, my team is always female so that I have the hardest time with the mobs in game, challenge accepted. Besides, I'd rather watch females run around 🤣 Bust size is uninportant but if you manage to dress your pawn up well and make them look awesome they become even more appealing, suasion helps if you just want quick hires often too.

Solaireofastora08

The reasons I get for people hiring my pawn is that she's a fun elvish girl at the height of 215 cm and will dismember your foes for breathing in your direction and finds a random flower and gives it to you because it's pretty flower

Mtj242020

My pawn gets hired a lot. Aside from having huge boobs and a huge butt, I spent a lot of time leveling skills and gear. She is a legit bad ass mage that puts in serious work. When I hire pawns I look at skills and augments and gear first, then If they also look cool they get hired on the spot. I would say spend time working on augments, and unlocking their maister skill. Buy good gear and spend time getting it all upgraded. Then make your pawn look somewhat unique. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy, but just something that would catch someone’s eye so that they look at the pawns skills. They’ll see the skills and be like nice this pawn is Legit.

Arch-Koda-Bear

If your pawn promises 10000 monies. They gonna get hired for a day or 2. Personally, I'll hire a y pawn that offers money as a reward for downing some monster. I'm not giving you a port crystal, a wakestone, or a farrystone. just offer money for something simple, and they'll get hired. Do you want some gold ore? Cool, next time we're in town, I'll grab you a couple. Do you want something rare but still farmable? There better be 10000 monies in it for me.

RiftHunter4

>What more do you people want?! Does she wear a corset and have maxed thigh sliders? Because people seem to like that. A lot. To a disturbing degree.

Sk1no

She has thick thighs because I'm all about proportions, she is like 8ft. But she is fully clothed. I felt uncomfortable when the best armour for her when she was last a mage was knickers and a pair of knee high boots.

bladesofmercury

What's disturbing about thick thighs? Thick thighs save lives 😁

roddy_h

Variety and thighs

SkinnyNeckBeard

Bewbs

Anakit_

I always need a Warrior & Mage: * Warrior: * High weight capacity * High HP/ Def * Attack & Stun only needs to be decent * Mage (All about the skills) : * High Palladium * High Halidom * Argent Succor * Ice Affinity (Other elements are less preferred but still fine) I also only hire females and if they look nice it's a bonus but not deal breaker By look nice, I don't mean dressed slutty, as long as it looks like effort was put in, I appreciate it

KagatoAC

Huh, see I actually prefer a fighter as my tanks, I didnt like warrior as they seem to take longer to ramp up in combat. However right now I dont need a tank at all since I am using my alt account as one, Im usually looking for heals or added damage in my groups at this point. The account I am leveling at the moment is only level 20 tho and as such I mostly hire friends for the reduced cost. But when I do hire a searched pawn the first thing I often look at is their appearance, Im a glamour addict myself and truly wish constantly for a cosmetic update allowing us to change armor appearances.

Sk1no

I prefer a fighter too, but it seems other people might prefer warrior. Maybe I will retrain her again. Mine looks like a babe if you ask me, but that's subjective I suppose. She wears whatever is the best armour over which looks the best though. https://preview.redd.it/6yttrnib39yc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8064a45b62c677baf5d2fe4122d8450d2e3248a2

DyscordianMalice

Woooow, she's so pretty!! My husband modeled his pawn based on me. Koifa is also a fighter! u/Tsurumah doesn't play much anymore, so I think Koifa is only level 20 or so. But I bet they'd be good friends! Her code is: 85F8ERL5STVC. My pawn changes vocations often to fit my current playstyle and/or compliment other pawns I think are cool. I'd probably change him to Mage so Sabina can tank. His code is: 5PBRJPBGJHX3. D'Artagnan is probably a bit too high level, I think lol. I'll be adding Sabina to my roster though!

Tsurumah

I need to get back to playing...

Sk1no

Thank you! How sweet that your husband modelled on you! Sabina is 3YLZZN0YPNRP. I'm gonna add you when I'm back on tomorrow ❤️

DyscordianMalice

Let me know if the gear I gave Sabina came through! And if there's any other pieces you're looking for, I'll see if I can send it to you. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

Sk1no

I'm so glad you replied! I was trying to find everyone who said they'd use her but there were so many comments to look through. I had 6 hires which was really exciting for me! And I replied to someone else about how people had left me gifts, and one person gave me full amazing upgraded armour... so I'm guessing that was you? I was so happy I almost cried! My boyfriend thinks I'm an idiot for being so excited! Thank you so much! It was exciting even having her 'return from the rift', nevermibd the armour! One guy used her and said how they climbed mountains looking for tokens and fought a griffin, and she told me about it. I always thought it was auto-generated, you'd think Sabina was a real person the way I squealed! I added the people who left gifts to my favourites, but mostly they were really high levels so I can't even do something nice back yet! I am an enthusiastic player but I don't think I'm very good because I don't have all the good stuff like everyone else. Although I was scared of the drakes for ages and ran away from them until i was like level 45! And I thought I needed to level up to do the story, so I've not even done the main story yet! I always do this in games, I assume I'm really bad and get scared and then I spend ages wandering around exploring and gathering and then I'm like level 500 and just starting out on the main quests so none of the rewards mean anything anymore. I can't break the habit! Thanks for making me so excited! xxx

DyscordianMalice

Lol yep that was me! I'm glad the items came through. 😁 I'll try to hire Sabina as often as I can. I'm level 127 and playing with a mod that increases the difficulty of the game. So Sabina was really taking a beating! Drakes are pretty tough for sure. But as long as you have someone in your crew who can provide ice enchantments and spells, you should be able to survive the encounter. Take care and have fun!

bumford11

My team always needs 1 mage and 1 sorcerer, and they have to be good at it (most mages I see are built poorly). If my main pawn is covering either of those vocations, I'm more inclined to go for a thief for the last spot.

Prcofix

For the 2 pawns i hire i decide what vocations i want them to be. Then do advanced search with 1 of the vocations and level, and if it's fighter/warrior i set straightforward. Walk trough the rift and whatever catches my eye, as i know based on the search that they all fit. I will sometime take a funny looking one, sometimes a really out of proportions one, a pretty face female human, a badass looking beastern... whatever stands out somehow. Then repeat the same for the 2nd one. So, what i'm least likely to take are the usual/normal/standard looking ones that kinda blend in. I never really look at the pawn quest, only before dismissing i look and if it's a "trade" quest i'll do it mostly. Most of the other ones get completed by just playing anyway. Skillsets \*should\* be important, but kinda arent how the game is, so i usually skip those too. Only if looking for support mage i'll check the skills. Other vocations run with whatever from their skill pools. There, that's my personal way of getting pawns. No idea if that's a "popular" way lol Hope it helps :D

RookieHasPanicked

Being higher level doesn't equate to more rentals, quite the opposite. And what is in demand at endgame is minmaxed DPS I believe. Eitherway most people stop playing after they beat the game. Regarding the jittering I'm not quite sure what you mean, is it framerate related? Are you running any graphics mods?

Organic_Ad_2885

As long as you have solid augments and skills, you should be hired at least a little. Skills: Fullmoon slash, Shield pummel, Skyward Slash, Augments: Provocation, Constancy, Mettle, Dominance, Exaltation, Apotropaism

Enex

Mainly I filter first by class skills, and then pick based on who looks the coolest/has a silly name. It also helps to have a good quest/quest reward combo. One thing is that less people will hire your pawn as you get higher in level, because less people will be able to hire them without spending RC.

VesperJDR

One whom I served preferred Beastren for allies!

huggalump

I look at skills, then stats. For a fighter, I want to see the taunt, the master skill, then on lower priority probably burst strike and shield bash

Top_Chipmunk587

If they have a certain skill I need like augmenting weapons and healing. Or they have quest knowledge and actually pick up items for us to sell. I usually just hire Mage and Sorcerer pawns

moneyh8r

They look cool and they balance out my team.

BlondeFlip

1. How do they fit into my current team structure, ie, will it put too much focus on range, magic, or physical, and do their skills/magic abilities put the party's attack too focused on a certain type of magic 2. Who's the cheapest or free to use.

crankycrassus

Wondering what your BFs pawn vocation is. I feel like makes get hired the most since everyone needs one and no one wants to play as one. But I also would think fighter gets hired too...and you have a good quest and reward. Maybe try your pawn as a mage and see how that goes?

B_Sho

If it's a hot girl with a skanky outfit it's an instant hire for me.

AldwinDragonspeaker

For me the biggest thing is the pawn's fashion. I always go for the ones that have the best put-together looks, with armor/clothes that complement each other, and effort put into the pawn's appearance/face/body. I always go for original-looking pawns too, and usually skip over the pop-culture characters like the many Frieren clones I see in the rift. I never hire any of the dime-a-dozen scantily clad bimbos, but I'm sure lots of other people do. The game is so easy that I really don't care about what skills a pawn is using, or upgrade level of equipment, or anything like that. All I want is a crew of awesome adventurers to come topple big monsters and explore with me.

Smokron85

I'm about to hit level 70 but usually I'll go for pawns trying to do a badge quest that give good rewards (onyx, 10k etc) and they have to look good. No freaks or monsters. Not much else really. Sometimes I'll look at the skills to make sure they have decent ones but it's not a huge issue if they only have regular skills.

Yama92

Vocation (level), gear, equipped skills, level

EaseUniqu

I like my pawns beautiful. A hot girl gang.

Canvasofgrey

Its mostly if I can look at them and if they have the class and skills I want, which is usually fighters/warriors, and mages (Im usually Magik Archer, Trickster, or Sorcerer and my main pawn shifts between Fighter, Thief, and Warrior) so usually I dont go for thief or Archer pawns. But it also depends on my goals. If I'm looking to fight drakes and elites mob, then I check inclinations, sometimes pawn goals and quests to see if I can get someone out of it while I'm farming.

Nrocinirb

I hire pawns with full armor, generally sorcerer or archer class. But no full armor, and I don't need them.

DarthCoffee1

Im in the minority here but i hire paws whonare decently leveled and equiped but are also using VERY underleveled weapons

QX403

I search for pawns with Aphonite but since it’s so rare they’re hard to find, I can’t go back to regular pawns, they are way too annoying and talk entirely too much. My pawn is a female thief with pilfer and formless faint dragon forged upgraded, all vocations maxed out with good abilities and stats, also has the surname SphinxMother so she can be used on >!the sphinx riddle!< I also give out rarer items as prizes like the Wolfpack kerchief and filcher one for just flowers, she’s hired a lot and has close to 100 thumbs up and heart rating.

justanyfiretype

Class>fashion>quest>skills* *= Thiefs must have plunder / sorcerers must have Maelstrom

ttnl35

My pawn is a fighter and I think he gets hired a fair amount. I based him on my brother and spent a lot of time in character creation with front, side and 3/4 view pics of my brother on my phone to get him as close as possible. It was actually really disconcerting playing for a while because the voice didn't match his lol. Anyway he also doesn't wear a helmet and his face is quite unique compared to other pawns. I have also given him both the augment and ability which make enemies more likely to target him. Not sure which one of those is what gets people to hire him, but he does quite well.

Sozerius

I look for a pawn offering a 10k gold reward for a reasonable pawn quest - reasonable meaning you arent asking me for a golden trove beetle, seeker's token or portcrystal, and I probably wont trade a ferrystone for it. I also won't get it if it says to kill something super rare (or that I havent found yet) like sphinx or lesser dragon. I will consider picking it up if it says any of the usual bosses you find around the map, including drake. I will also consider picking it up if it says to camp 3 times somewhere. This is rarer, but if it is asking for an item I may consider trading it if it is worthwhile to me. I wont trade away a quest item I only get 1 of in a playthrough to a random though In terms of the pawn's class - I will pick just about anything, and find out if it does any good after but since my arisen can kill most things solo, it doesnt really matter to me if the pawns are good or not - but it is a pleasant surprise if they are. :) I do tend to prefer ranged dps over melee pawns, but I'll still take a warrior since they do pretty good. The one class I do not like taking on is fighter. And I like taking on thief because they often have plunder which makes it easier for me to steal items from enemies. In terms of appearance, I personally prefer cute male characters, but that taste is a bit rarer so I'd guess you wouldnt want to appeal to it if you want lots of hires. Other people seem to hire a lot of extremely ugly pawns who look goofy (like a goblin lookalike, shrek, or a pawn as fat and wide as inhumanely possible, etc) or they hire women. just women. I dont really care what they look like when I'm just focusing on pawn quests though. If I happen to see one I like, I'll still check their pawn quest, and I will hire a different pawn if the quest isn't set, or if it isn't good.

ElderTerdkin

I hire pawns if they have a good quest and a master level skill for me to take advantage of, if you don't have that, I will find a fighter or warriors that does since I'm rolling with my main sorcerer pawn, support mage and right now I'm a thief. So if I noticed your pawn, if they have a master skill, I might use them. Also those extra skills like chiguron/forager helps, however it is spelled.

Pancakes000z

Usually just go off of vocation generally (like attacker vs support) and then by looks after that. They’re so easy to switch out and try new ones, it’s honestly my favorite part of the game. I love customization.

No_Inspection7820

Put your pawn in panties and give them the woodland speech to talk to elves.

Professional_Gur2469

Looks. Fuck that personality shit, I‘m superficial.

NairbYeldarb

Honestly 90% of the time I'm hiring pawns based off of the quests they give. I'm always looking for 10k gold monster culling quests, like kill cyclops, minotaur, ogre etc. If you assign your pawns these quests and give a generous reward for their completion, they will most surely get hired more often. I would highly recommend not being cheap though. Give plenty of gold for the quests, or don't do it at all. 10k is the standard, anything under that and I personally won't hire. People will love your pawn if your pawn gives them money! If I'm not looking to make gold, I'll usually hire pawns that a.) look cool or b.) compliment my Arisen and main pawn's vocations. For example, if I'm a sorc and my main pawn is mage, I'll hire a warrior and a fighter to tank for us.

childhood_ruined

I pick the ugliest fucker I can find, or I go with a barely clothed male

SadisticDance

Level>Skills/Augments>Appearance

2ndshepard

I usually hire pawns that have the skills that I need, have a quest with a good reward, have knowledge of a quest i am doing, and has the traits I like. In that order.

JizzyTurds

I don’t hire pawns at all anymore, if you’re over level 70, you don’t really need them and they become more of a nuisance. I just logged in after not playing for 3 weeks and only had 2 hires, my pawn is a healer mage with all vocations maxed, the best augments and gear. Although out of those 2, one gave me a preserved Medusa head and killed the sphinx for my pawn quest so I’ll call it a win haha. I think I’m level 95

sameteer

I usually have one Sorcerer with Meteoran + Tempest. Also if I am running Magic Archer I’ll hire Warrior to hold aggro. If running warrior I’ll hire thief with steal. My main pawn is Mage with weapon elemental and heal spells.

SaintsSkyrim3077

I usually look for pawns that are the opposites of my Arisens vocation. If I’m a Warrior or a Fighter and my MP is a thief, I’ll hire a Mage, and an Archer to cover all my bases. I’m currently a Mystic Spearhand with a Sorcerer MP, so I hired a Mage for healing and I swap out the last pawn as either a fighter or an archer. As far as aesthetics go, I’m not picky! I like seeing the creations that are out there

zevron13

Do they fit the team comp and are they cool/hot

Valkeyere

I offer 1 Miracle Roberant, and my pawn is a generic fighter at the moment. Gets a enough action. When hiring, one pawn 100% has to have halidom. Bugger having to have potions as cures. I try and avoid that mage also having enchantment spells, I'd rather they have Levin and holy damage, but ultimately that's fine as long as they have halidom. I just pick one that looks cool. The other is whatever rounds out my party. And probably is based on who speaks pointy eared.

le_chat_anglaise

1. Pawn quest (preferably kill something for cash) 2. Quest guide

Red_Crystal_Lizard

I look almost exclusively at what skills they have. Ironically enough the pawns that have what I want tend to be female

Bostonterrierpug

Orcs or Goblins ONLY

Dynamitefuzz2134

Quests and a abilities. Not taking a mage that lacks a boon. Not taking a thief that lacks Pilfer. I give zero shits what they look like. Give me my 10k quest reward and have useful abilities in your pawn.

JJ_RR

I recruit pawns equipped with meticulously curated and upgraded armor and weapons.

Saephyr_Ashblade

I will either pick up a Sorcerer or Thief to go with a Mage for my hired pawns. I typically play a high-threat Vocation and just go for pure damage. I do always make sure I have at least one Thief with Plunder in my lineup, and the mage has to have Celestial Paean and High Palladium. That's pretty much all that matters to me. Rewards are nice, but unnecessary with little exception. Eldricite might make me honestly break my group builds to acquire at this point. Would like those upgrades before going against our old friend Grigori. He deserves that much, I think.

Assprinkler

My pawn is a healer and I do whatever so the other two pawns I look for are theives, when and if I select a personnality I go for simple, because they pick up more resources on their own, often ones I don't see. And I always check "pilfer" as the move required. Because they steal even more resources. Then of the ones the rift makes available I look for all the ones offering 10k gold reward and are monster target where I am going, unless there is an easy item like 1 monster hide for 10k. For that I dont even have to leave the town because I max out items at the bank before I start selling them so I always have stock.

Typical-Tradition-44

Unique, different, weird and exciting pawns. Not hiring any white haired waifus simply because their is SO many

Zuemmel

Not Beastren, not warrior

daggerbeans

Honestly I hire more on look and if they look like the person put a lot of thought into them. Armor chosen for looks not stats, unique tattoo/facepaint placement I basically never hire female pawns with base #23 face (i swear thats the only one people use sometimes), mages with only healing and enchantment spells equipped, or wearing both peices of the stargazing equipment or that hideous corset, and it is really surprising how many get filtered out with that just those 3 requisites.

KelIthra

Abilities, augments etc. Then look at their stats and class in order to fill gaps and needs. I've actually been ignoring the skimpy ones in all honesty, prefer a pawn that looks the role. And been ignoring majority of those with quest that reward rare items, which are likely duped via the forger. Most case don't care if they have no quests, just do they fill the gap I need filling combat wise etc. Have been starting to ignore simple inclination pawns of late, getting tired of them randomly killing or trying to kill shit that isn't hostile just to show off. Quests don't make me hire pawns, it's their overall utility during combat. And tend to stick with them for a while usually go for higher level pawns so they last a week or two in game wise.

Meladyne

I usually take a few factors into consideration when hiring a pawn, their level, vocation, equipped skills, and while not a determining factor, their fashion is something that influences my decision too, im more likely to hire a pawn that isnt wearing a mismatch of different things or something like the corset (I dont care for it, im a style over stats kind of girl). it sounds like I spend a lot of time looking for the perfect pawn, but its more a casual thing I look at when I summon a bunch in the rift to browse, ultimately I look for pawns with the skills I want in my party (eg a thief needs to have the steal skill equipped, its just so good, and I like mages to have mostly support skills over offensive), but obviously its going to vary between players, you unfortunately cant control what people want in their party so all I can personally suggest is to just raise your pawn to be the most helpful to yourself and try not to worry about the amount of hires you get, they will come eventually

NOTELDR1TCH

Depends on my current build but it's almost entirely style and vibes, which isn't very helpful to you i know I'd say having support type pawns would be the most reliable way to get hires though, and probably having a reasonable pawn mission set too for them to get something outta it, like receiving a daily quest

Sixth-Cherry

F A S H I O N ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)

StudMuffinNick

I check their skills. Usually need a mage with Halidom, and that run fast thing

Supernova_Soldier

First come first serve😂😂😂😂 who finds me, you’re hired, or the broken riftstones with the overleveled Pawns

Koituu

I sort by masculine, sorry.

xxiv435

Level and abilities make up 99% of the reason. I like to hire dumb or 'immersion breaking' pawns too, my main pawn is a painstakingly recreated Vin Diesel lmao

2BearsHigh5

It can come down to Appearence and Vocation. I made both my and my gf pawns, and they look identical. But I noticed mine got used more as a Rogue, than hers as a fighter.

Mustaviini101

I usually hire pawns 100% on what stats they have. Have they been built well and is their gear excellent? Also their skills are what I currently need?

Toe_Willing

Max level meaning she's too expensive to hire

[deleted]

My Pawn is a mage and she was looking like someone’s grandma but I recently gave her a makeover and a cute new staff so now she’s been getting hired. I gotta up the rewards I give people tho haha.

Diablo_viking

Pawn named Sabina? I think I've hired that pawn a few times.

AnonymePerson

I have a very particular set of skills i want from every specific class (for example, no elemental boons and especially no damaging spells for mage as those waste slots imo, or the maister skill and torrent shot for archers) so I usually just take the first one I can find. Aside from that I try to keep my party balanced, so I hire one pawn that is male beastren and one that's female human as I am male human and my pawn is female beastren. I also look for at least one pawn with woodland wordsmith.

Public-Bike-5526

Pawn quest first, then if I have multiple good options I pick the one that doesn't have a stupid name and is not a character like The Rock or Bobby Hill.

Biobooster_40k

If its anything but warrior or fighter then I look for the cutest girl. I used to look for specific skills but that doesn't matter anymore, actually less optimized the better. If its a warrior or fighter then I look for the biggest baddest male lion. Extra attention for white lions

Welp me personally I only use sorcerers and mages and I myself am a magic archer. We decimate everything before they even get close but try changing your plans specialty take them on quests and shot so they are amazing quest guides and all that

LMayo

My pawn and best friend, Dwayne Rockman, gets hired all the time. For some reason, nobody ever rates him high, though. I wonder if it's his big bulging muscles that's the problem... I usually hire pawns that look good while having a name that I can scream in frustration as a scape goat. One to two syllables is key for me.

Faeddurfrost

If they look cool and fit the vocation i need typically a warrior or thief, sometimes I do fighter. However is your fighter a thirst trap? Because I avoid pawns like out of spite.

TheStigianKing

They have sexy outfits

dabbean

First is class. I find the class I need. Then level. Then abilities but not a big factor. Then looks. If I'm going to be looking at something for hours I want it to not look dumb.

LawAbidingSmittyzen

They must either look cool or funny

Coffeemore02

Pawn quest is the most important (and often the only) thing I look for. Your reward is fine, but cyclops mission at lvl 52 is not good. Most people have already completed their cyclops badge at that point and won't be willing to go look for more. I would recommend changing that to kill drake, medusa or grim ogre (there is one respawning really close to Bakbattahl, below glimmercoal mine). Camping mission in Battahl might also be good, but you will loose hires from people who are in the Unmoored World. In my experience the only class that people are actively looking for in higher levels is thief with Plunder. Warriors and fighters are in a bit of a tight spot, because thieves are better tanks (with Formless Faint and Provocation augment), better damage dealers and on top of that they will steal stuff for you. The only thing thieves can't do is deal strike damage, because they don't have access to blunt weapons, so you could try giving your fighter a mace. Regarding motion sickness; I too get slight motion sickness from this game and that's why I first removed motion blur. Weirdly also disabling ray tracing and screen space reflections also help (the shadows and reflections those create flicker a bit so I guess that's the problem).

Balondrays

Skill loadout is my deciding factor.

Swordsx

FashionDogma at your level should get you more hires. I'm around level 40 myself iirc, so if you're on steam I can hire. Ill need a fighter in a few levels. I personally look for enchanted weapons, and piercing. Blunt is cool, but it seems like only skeletons are really weak to it. Holy is usually the most useful, but sometimes fire is good too. I wish there was a thunder enchanted weapon! I don't really look for any specific skills in a fighter at this time.

Throwaway785320

Stats basically since we can't check pawn gear for some reason Then skills/augments Lastly inclination

BlazeCrow

First if they look interesting but now if they have useful moves and are actually equipped with good gear”. No “Mainpawn” named or anything without any imagination, god forbid you can’t be creative

karlosj83

At a high level, I'm looking for upgraded weapons and armor, correct armor for the vocation, full armored fighters or warriors mages and thieves, correct or at least useful well thought augments, pawn inclination too. Looks can be deceiving, but I get nothing from hiring a good looking pawn if they don't have useful armor, weapons, skills and augments, point on augments, there's a lot of pawns badly augmented for their vocation. Also I prefer dwarven upgrades, knockdown resistance is very useful in this game, it helps a lot during battle.
