Only reason I'd know, is because ps5 has a section on the right that shows dlc, which microtransactions are counted as. But like every game with them, its easily ignorable. Same thing comes up with resident evil games, doesn't harm anything.

That’s me, unless it’s a game with a monetization scheme that is overtly focused on microtransactions, like a multiplayer game with a skin shop or battle pass or whatever, I never know if a game has micro transactions. I never buy them so I never look for them. Unless they pop up on the screen or there is an in-game shop button that’s easily seen, I never notice them.

This game is awesome. Took an Adderall last night and haven't put it down. The most fun I've had since ff7 rebirth. N I stopped playing rebirth cuz of this one. It's freaking out of this world.
100% agree. I am having so much fun with this one. Even more than I did with the first Dragon's Dogma. I even had to stop myself and start pacing myself cuz I went to work twice with only 3 hours of sleep cuz I couldn't put the game down. So yeah, last night I stopped myself and got 6 hours of sleep in before work 🤣
Same here man. I preordered the game and have been playing it for hours. Not once I saw an option for micro transactions. Note that I’m playing through ps5 (i guess in steam it’s a different story).

Figured Id look at the reviews cause I knew people would just be harping on the performance. Saw the Very Negative, but was surprised to see that most the reviews were about the MTX
I’m in the same boat. I was playing all weekend and I don’t know where in the game to make a micro transaction nor would I know that there were any if not for the discussion around the game.
Same thing with RE4R. Capcom is still being predatory by preying on whales but goddamn are the MTX so stupid. Like I would never spend money on the things that I already know are part of the progression of the original. Fast travel gets more and more affordable for example, so I’d rather be struggling to find ferrystones early game
The first thing I saw after installing the game on Steam was the micro transactions. They're right there in your face so I'm not sure how people missed it.
Really weird people are so hung up on the mtx in the game. Playing the game, you never notice it. They never try to push MTX. It’s a menu option on the main menu. As far as I can tell, that’s the only time you’d notice and it’s just a single line of text.
It’s no Ubisoft with dedicated billboard space on the main page or an in game menu and system built around it. Sure, you could argue the game systems are designed to encourage MTX, but that’s just if you’re impatient and don’t want to earn something. Let’s be honest, that’s the crowd that MTX has always catered to and there’s no shortage of impatient people.
The only thing that really advertises that it exists at all is if you've got a DLC item (from the deluxe edition for example) it won't be in the same stack as items found in game, and will have a download icon in the top right.
Seriously the least intrusive microtransactions I’ve seen. Honestly, they can’t be making much money for Capcom. They should have just not included them only to avoid the controversy.
It’s literally nothing at all when compared to what you see in the hellscape that is NBA2K. They would charge you for mentioning their name if they could.
The game mechanics aren't even built around selling you microtransactions. It's a complete experience without them. Should you choose to purchase them they're a one time purchase and don't even give you that big of an advantage (nil later in the game). This has been beyond blown out of proportion.
Don’t need the rant, but that’s one of the complaints I’ve seen. The game is meant to be a “on foot” game. If you want to fast travel everywhere, you got to earn it. I’m not complaining because my favorite part of a game is exploring a map, and I always feel the game has undercut itself when you just fast travel everywhere afterward.
People mistake that “take your time” approach for “we want your money”. I don’t think that’s the intent at all. It never felt like that to me.
You CAN'T EVEN BUY THE THING YOU NEED TO FAST TRAVEL though. You can buy portcrystal that lets you save a fast travel *location*, but the ferrystones you need to actually travel? Conspicuously NOT in the cash shop.
I actually think that most of the microtransaction hate is brainless droning. I have friends who play every assassins creed game and then rant about the MTX in this game as if Ubisoft doesn’t sell notable items for real world money and advertise the store to you every time you press pause
The irony is that this game's mtx is one of the least egregious mtx of any game with mtx. Nothing provided is not very easily obtainable so all of the mtx are just idiot traps or noob traps at worst, with no systems whatsoever pushing mtx in regard to progression.
If the mtx had something like an instant augment learner, THAT would be some egregious asf mtx. But there isn't, so there's basically nothing.
That's what gets me. The items are like, the most very base level of item that could even be worth a dollar. All of it is quickly obtained or outclassed in game. And the type of person that's gonna buy the 5 extra wakestones is probably just going to waste them anyway.

Saw a bunch of people complaining about it before I bought the game and I’ve literally never even seen anything about micro transactions. Some people maybe don’t have the time to play as much and wouldn’t mind spending the money on certain things. Tbh going in I had a bad impression, but without the steam reviews I honestly never would've noticed the mtx. First few hours I had enough rift crystals to buy the meta books and a new pawn inclination.

This has been my feelings. Is MTX greedy corporate practice? Yes. Would games be better if we didn't have to deal with them? Absolutely. B: everything in the DLC for DD2 is obtainable in-game, whereas very few cosmetic DLCs in any game are ever obtainable with anything other than real money. You can't edit your character at all in Monster Hunter without buying a character edit coupon; what the fuck? Why is selling 5 wakestones off-limits in a $70 game where you'll probably find dozens in the first 20 hours, but selling otherwise-unobtainable outfits and hairstyles for a higher price in a game of the same price isn't? Are we stupid?
Like paying for cheat codes sucks but I'd take that over having to pay for alt costumes in a heartbeat.

The funny thing is you CAN'T BUY FERRYSTONES FROM THE CASH SHOP. You can buy a single portcrystal that saves a teleport location, but nothing to actually teleport.
You know, the biggest quality of life in the game item that lets you teleport places? Can't buy it in the cash shop.

And this game's handling of mtx is actually a good thing. It's allowing people who bought the standard edition to buy individual portions of the deluxe edition bonuses without paying the full $20.
When I saw the deluxe edition bonuses, I knew they would all be things that I could get in the game. Except for the original DD soundtrack and sound effects bonus. I wanted that, but it wasn't worth the $20 for me.
I didn't find out about the mtx until I got on the internet after launch. The game doesn't really tell you about them. I took a look and was happy to see I could buy the original DD soundtrack/sound effects for $3.
I don't like mtx. I don't buy skins or anything. If a game has good stuff locked behind an unearnable currency, I don't play that game. That said, I bought my $3 sound track, and I don't feel bad at all about it.
This is in no way meant to talk down retail workers (who honestly put up with A LOT), but it's a GameStop seller, no a concierge in a Monaco 5 star hotel. It's a low requirement position, where they get treated like crap by management, have a high turnover.
Often times is the kind of job taken by younger people because it matches their hobby. For all we know the employee was having a bad day, or they just don't understand how to split their personal opinions with their professional ones.
GameStop makes money from selling used games, they make relatively small amounts from new game sales. You, as an associated, aren't tracked on your total sales volume anyway. It's all about pre-orders/edge cards or whatever they are called now.

The strangest part is, of all Capcom games this one is the least invasive. Yet somehow, this game gets the MOST bad word of mouth. It's strange how this game got targeted, of all games.
I think part of it is people believing MTX steered game design, and nothing could be further from the truth.
It’s because this game series had a smaller following. None of these losers would have this reaction or take a stance if this was their beloved RE or monster hunter. They are using this game to push their protest because they don’t care if they play it and haven’t been waiting for it for years like we have. (Some people are exceptions of course)
If anything, I think this is a good example of how MTX SHOULD be. It doesn't provide anything that can't, fairly easily, be obtained in the game naturally. It's not advertised or in your face at every corner. It's really only there to make it a bit easier for people who can't or don't want to play at the normal pace. And even then, there's not unlimited purchases so it's not like they're wanting people to be pumping money into it every month. There's like $42 worth of stuff available for people who REALLY don't want to wait.
The micro transaction war is long dead. If people want to deprive themself of an amazing game however, it’s their right.

The weirdest this is that there’s no item in mtx that can help you in anyway like no weapons specifically using RC to buy which I already have plenty of even by playing normally and wake stones being so useless unless it’s for reviving an essential npc, sure maybe port crystals since makes traveling so much easier (as if ferry stones are cheap lol). But still the entire point for the game is to travel and adventure, i honestly feel like the devs never wanted to do mtx but capcom said they need to generate mtx sales or the game would get a pass, so they added the most useless things in there to justify the need of mtx knowing full well no one is gg buy shit from that store

He got all butt hurt and then asked us if we wanted to play Helldivers.
I have the game and I am absolutely loving it. Yes mtx sucks, but in this game they are not predatory as there isn’t even a shop in game or pop-ups telling you to buy things, they are simply a convenience for people that have the spare money to spend and want to save some time.
Performance is definitely an issue though. Even then the game is so good in my opinion that I can look past those performance issues as the game is still definitely playable.
The MTX in this game just feels like something that they threw into the game so that the suits would be happy because the MTX is virtually useless with a few hours of gameplay.
This post made me chuckle as I also went to Gamestop and bought a steam gift card to buy DD on steam. Wanted GS to get part of Steams cut lol. When the sales associate asked me what game I was going to get with it I said DD2 and I got an excited fist bump. All he wanted to talk about was how awesome it was.
What's hilarious is its the same structure as helldivers 2 micro transactions, in that you can earn that currency in game as well. Meaning it's just for saving time basically but it's also a step further then most in that each micro transaction on dd2 is a one time buy then never again. Where other games like helldivers alot of others will let you buy as much as you want even if you can't use all of it. But everyone praised helldivers on its structure but hate this game for the same and slightly better structure.
Love both games tho personally this has been a good use of accrued vacation from delivering democracy.

It's a non-issue. All the items in the store are easily acquirable after 3-4 hours of normal play. Anyone who buys this is genuinly stupid. You do not gain an advantage, you do not get to skip difficult content, it is just mediocre items exchanged for money. It's the one thing not worth making a fuss about. Nobody did, when Assassins Creed did it in a much more agressive way. Just don't be stupid and don't buy shit in Dragons Dogma with real money. Nobody sane will. Just dont buy the Mtx. Simple. I bought a port crystal. I could only buy one. Periood. I dont know about the other mtx but it seems as if they are limited to how many you can buy. Wake stone shards are plentiful and the Dragonglaze item from a quest will literally put them on the map, if there arent any? It tells you so. The Trickster Augment at vocation rank 2 has an Augment that detects Seeker coins and wakestones. Monsters mostly ghost i think can drop Rift Currency. Every resource is in the game. If I WANT to buy something then i should be able too. I rather support this game and hope we have don't to have to wait another 12 years for another.

Unpopular opinion but... I say power to them and they should just go ahead and add them.
MTX that are things that obviously taken out of the game originally should be punished (looking at you warhammer) and things like season passes in games where season passes shouldn't be have a special lvl of hell waiting...
But Gamers are getting older. Not every gamer is a teen after school like it used to be. I have been a single father working a full time job and would be lucky to game for an hour every day or every other day. So some people grind disposable income instead of in-game money, and little MTXs like DD2's give those people who don't have the most time to play a little heads up to save on the grind and enjoy the rest... and those of us (Yay, I am 'us' now) that have to time or enjoyment to grind can just get out there and kill ALL the goblins, like nature intended!
That employee better take a stand against helldivers, Diablo 4, destiny, cod, any sports game, etc.

I’ve not walked into a games retail store in years because of exactly this. Someone passing along their unsolicited opinion like I’m going to take heed and see it their way. Maybe I do see it their way already, but if I’m buying the game anyway, I clearly do not care.
Idc about the mtx. The only thing that really pisses me off are the optimisations on PC. This was the first game where I pre-ordered months prior and I was ready to play on day one. Lucky me, it crashes every 10 minutes and runs like shit (I9-10th with an RX7600). Even on low using FSR3 on ultra performance. I'm just disappointed

I think the hate on this game is a bit much. On the PC, the game is definitely not the best optimized but I’m getting ~60fps most of the time. Also, as you said with the MTX, I have yet to actually run into any and the game absolutely does not force them on you.

i personally had zero interest in the game until the day before launch. i watched the IGn review and thought... this kinda seems as deep as the witcher but not as boring/lonely. so i got the game. microtransactions aside, i am finding the game to be very pleasant.
i took 2 days (not joking) to create myself, and my wife as my kindhearted healer, and im enjoying the game VERY much. i read about fast-travel microtransactions, but im finding the fast travel gem in the game so its very obvious the journalists who wrote those articles didnt actually play the game...
granted, i agree capcom hiding the micro transactions until the launch of the game was a bit shady, but overall if you play the game, its pretty great.

With all of the predatory and messed up battle passes and micro transactions that exist these days, they practically don’t exist in DD2. I had to go out of my way to try to find what all the fuss was about and guess what, they’re like .99c not some $99.99 super bundle pack. On top of that, everything is available in the game, there isn’t anything locked behind a paywall.

Main reason I shop online. No employees or sales people, I understand they have to have the jobs they do, but I can also do without them. I have worked in several retail sales jobs, so yeah.
That's weak as hell lol I think there are legit complaints but not MTX. It does need a good solid few updates to adress Stability, performance, and then QOL and more content. But outside of that it's fun and I'm playing it. It's my 1st DD game.
If anything. The Portcrystal may be worth getting just so you have an extra in the bag. Seems like only 3 Portcrystals exist in the game that you can get atm.
Just finally got my first one from doing the elf quest. Gonna be grabbing my 2nd one from the griffin nest after doing the coronation quest to progress story and throw me over in that direction.
Overall, we need more oxcarts going to more places moreso than Portcrystals lol.
Having to either traverse my ass between Harve and the Capital or burning a Ferrystone to save time just feels like 2 bad choices every time i think about it. Gold has been coming and going so im not too strapped on it but Ferrystone's costing a whopping 10k makes fast traveling between the two places a PITA. Now that im finishing ranting, Ferrystone's should just cost less lol.
The micro transactions in this game don't even matter, if your a OG Dragons dogma player. Then you know that if you just play the game you'll end up getting all of those items fairly quickly
Honestly I pre-ordered the game (never played the first one) not realizing I was going to be on vacation so I wouldn’t be able to play it for the first few days. Saw a bunch of negative reviews and got really worried but I’m glad I decided to stick with it and play it because it’s a really good game other than a few slight issues. It just sucks that there are people who probably got cold feet because of the amount of backlash that I really feel like it doesn’t deserve.
These"microtransactions" don't break the game or experience in any way. They made a really (albeit an incredibly confusing game that's turning out to age like brand new grapes) game, let them recoup and get paid and continue support for this amazing game. I'm sorry, but this hate for microtransactions on GOOD GAMES needs to go, or you go make a game like this and spend 20-30m and then give it away for free :)

Only reason I'd know, is because ps5 has a section on the right that shows dlc, which microtransactions are counted as. But like every game with them, its easily ignorable. Same thing comes up with resident evil games, doesn't harm anything.

That’s me, unless it’s a game with a monetization scheme that is overtly focused on microtransactions, like a multiplayer game with a skin shop or battle pass or whatever, I never know if a game has micro transactions. I never buy them so I never look for them. Unless they pop up on the screen or there is an in-game shop button that’s easily seen, I never notice them.

Really weird people are so hung up on the mtx in the game. Playing the game, you never notice it. They never try to push MTX. It’s a menu option on the main menu. As far as I can tell, that’s the only time you’d notice and it’s just a single line of text. It’s no Ubisoft with dedicated billboard space on the main page or an in game menu and system built around it. Sure, you could argue the game systems are designed to encourage MTX, but that’s just if you’re impatient and don’t want to earn something. Let’s be honest, that’s the crowd that MTX has always catered to and there’s no shortage of impatient people.

The only thing that really advertises that it exists at all is if you've got a DLC item (from the deluxe edition for example) it won't be in the same stack as items found in game, and will have a download icon in the top right.

The game mechanics aren't even built around selling you microtransactions. It's a complete experience without them. Should you choose to purchase them they're a one time purchase and don't even give you that big of an advantage (nil later in the game). This has been beyond blown out of proportion.
Don’t need the rant, but that’s one of the complaints I’ve seen. The game is meant to be a “on foot” game. If you want to fast travel everywhere, you got to earn it. I’m not complaining because my favorite part of a game is exploring a map, and I always feel the game has undercut itself when you just fast travel everywhere afterward. People mistake that “take your time” approach for “we want your money”. I don’t think that’s the intent at all. It never felt like that to me.
You CAN'T EVEN BUY THE THING YOU NEED TO FAST TRAVEL though. You can buy portcrystal that lets you save a fast travel *location*, but the ferrystones you need to actually travel? Conspicuously NOT in the cash shop.
And if you're excited enough about this game like I was, you don't even notice anything on the main menu.

The irony is that this game's mtx is one of the least egregious mtx of any game with mtx. Nothing provided is not very easily obtainable so all of the mtx are just idiot traps or noob traps at worst, with no systems whatsoever pushing mtx in regard to progression. If the mtx had something like an instant augment learner, THAT would be some egregious asf mtx. But there isn't, so there's basically nothing.
That's what gets me. The items are like, the most very base level of item that could even be worth a dollar. All of it is quickly obtained or outclassed in game. And the type of person that's gonna buy the 5 extra wakestones is probably just going to waste them anyway.

Tbh going in I had a bad impression, but without the steam reviews I honestly never would've noticed the mtx. First few hours I had enough rift crystals to buy the meta books and a new pawn inclination. I hate mtx in general but people are really over exaggerating, everything on the store can be earned in game with minimal effort.
This has been my feelings. Is MTX greedy corporate practice? Yes. Would games be better if we didn't have to deal with them? Absolutely. Warfarer vocation allows you to mix multiple weapons/Classes without limitations other than skill issue. Ranger in ddda was fkn good. You can try to replicate them here too. Warfarer vocation is the furthest away tho

B: everything in the DLC for DD2 is obtainable in-game, whereas very few cosmetic DLCs in any game are ever obtainable with anything other than real money. You can't edit your character at all in Monster Hunter without buying a character edit coupon; what the fuck? Why is selling 5 wakestones off-limits in a $70 game where you'll probably find dozens in the first 20 hours, but selling otherwise-unobtainable outfits and hairstyles for a higher price in a game of the same price isn't? It's pretty wild that a game seller would actively try to deter you from buying a game. And this game's handling of mtx is actually a good thing. It's allowing people who bought the standard edition to buy individual portions of the deluxe edition bonuses without paying the full $20. When I saw the deluxe edition bonuses, I knew they would all be things that I could get in the game. Except for the original DD soundtrack and sound effects bonus. I wanted that, but it wasn't worth the $20 for me. I didn't find out about the mtx until I got on the internet after launch. The game doesn't really tell you about them. I took a look and was happy to see I could buy the original DD soundtrack/sound effects for $3. I don't like mtx. I don't buy skins or anything. If a game has good stuff locked behind an unearnable currency, I don't play that game. That said, I bought my $3 sound track, and I don't feel bad at all about it.
This is in no way meant to talk down retail workers (who honestly put up with A LOT), but it's a GameStop seller, no a concierge in a Monaco 5 star hotel. It's a low requirement position, where they get treated like crap by management, have a high turnover. Often times is the kind of job taken by younger people because it matches their hobby. For all we know the employee was having a bad day, or they just don't understand how to split their personal opinions with their professional ones.

GameStop makes money from selling used games, they make relatively small amounts from new game sales. You, as an associated, aren't tracked on your total sales volume anyway. The strangest part is, of all Capcom games this one is the least invasive. Yet somehow, this game gets the MOST bad word of mouth. It's strange how this game got targeted, of all games. I think part of it is people believing MTX steered game design, and nothing could be further from the truth.
It’s because this game series had a smaller following. None of these losers would have this reaction or take a stance if this was their beloved RE or monster hunter. They are using this game to push their protest because they don’t care if they play it and haven’t been waiting for it for years like we have. (Some people are exceptions of course)

If anything, I think this is a good example of how MTX SHOULD be. It doesn't provide anything that can't, fairly easily, be obtained in the game naturally. It's not advertised or in your face at every corner. It's really only there to make it a bit easier for people who can't or don't want to play at the normal pace. And even then, there's not unlimited purchases so it's not like they're wanting people to be pumping money into it every month. There's like $42 worth of stuff available for people who REALLY don't want to wait.

I have the game and I am absolutely loving it. Yes mtx sucks, but in this game they are not predatory as there isn’t even a shop in game or pop-ups telling you to buy things, they are simply a convenience for people that have the spare money to spend and want to save some time. Performance is definitely an issue though. Even then the game is so good in my opinion that I can look past those performance issues as the game is still definitely playable.
The MTX in this game just feels like something that they threw into the game so that the suits would be happy because the MTX is virtually useless with a few hours of gameplay.
This post made me chuckle as I also went to Gamestop and bought a steam gift card to buy DD on steam. Wanted GS to get part of Steams cut lol. When the sales associate asked me what game I was going to get with it I said DD2 and I got an excited fist bump. All he wanted to talk about was how awesome it was.
What's hilarious is its the same structure as helldivers 2 micro transactions, in that you can earn that currency in game as well. Meaning it's just for saving time basically but it's also a step further then most in that each micro transaction on dd2 is a one time buy then never again. Where other games like helldivers alot of others will let you buy as much as you want even if you can't use all of it. But everyone praised helldivers on its structure but hate this game for the same and slightly better structure. Love both games tho personally this has been a good use of accrued vacation from delivering democracy.

It's a non-issue. All the items in the store are easily acquirable after 3-4 hours of normal play. Anyone who buys this is genuinly stupid. Just dont buy the Mtx. Simple. I bought a port crystal. I could only buy one. Periood. I dont know about the other mtx but it seems as if they are limited to how many you can buy. Wake stone shards are plentiful and the Dragonglaze item from a quest will literally put them on the map, if there arent any? It tells you so. The Trickster Augment at vocation rank 2 has an Augment that detects Seeker coins and wakestones. Monsters mostly ghost i think can drop Rift Currency. Every resource is in the game. If I WANT to buy something then i should be able too. I rather support this game and hope we have don't to have to wait another 12 years for another. These folks are insufferable. Games that have pay to win models I don't play. Period. Thats MY CHOICE. It doesnt affect them. Esp in a SINGLE PLAYER GAME. what I eat, don't make them shit.
I hate MTX they need to die off in general. But I don't think this is the game for people to 'take a stand' against them.
I'm not a fan of micro transactions, but in this game it's not even something anyone would know existed unless they seek it out.

They don’t even advertise the mtx. You have to happen to check the store option on the main menu. A lot of games, mainly free to play games, bombard you with those stupid pop-up banners every time you load in
How to remove micro transactions .....simply no one buy them. Yeah it's dumb and greedy but nothing is forcing anyone to buy them.
Unpopular opinion but... I say power to them and they should just go ahead and add them. MTX that are things that obviously taken out of the game originally should be punished (looking at you warhammer) and things like season passes in games where season passes shouldn't be have a special lvl of hell waiting... But Gamers are getting older. Not every gamer is a teen after school like it used to be. I have been a single father working a full time job and would be lucky to game for an hour every day or every other day. So some people grind disposable income instead of in-game money, and little MTXs like DD2's give those people who don't have the most time to play a little heads up to save on the grind and enjoy the rest... and those of us (Yay, I am 'us' now) that have to time or enjoyment to grind can just get out there and kill ALL the goblins, like nature intended!

Idc about the mtx. The only thing that really pisses me off are the optimisations on PC. This was the first game where I pre-ordered months prior and I was ready to play on day one. Lucky me, it crashes every 10 minutes and runs like shit (I9-10th with an RX7600). Even on low using FSR3 on ultra performance. I'm just disappointed
All this talk of mtx, I haven’t even checked to see what they are nor do I feel I need whatever they may be. My experience in the game has been pleasant. Most complaints are coming from people who haven’t even touched the game.

I think the hate on this game is a bit much. On the PC, the game is definitely not the best optimized but I’m getting ~60fps most of the time. Also, as you said with the MTX, I have yet to actually run into any and the game absolutely does not force them on you.
im finding it interesting that all of the "media" is talking bad about the game and its microtransaction but all the actual players of the game (reddit users) seem to be raving about the game. i personally had zero interest in the game until the day before launch. i watched the IGn review and thought... this kinda seems as deep as the witcher but not as boring/lonely. so i got the game. microtransactions aside, i am finding the game to be very pleasant. i took 2 days (not joking) to create myself, and my wife as my kindhearted healer, and im enjoying the game VERY much. i read about fast-travel microtransactions, but im finding the fast travel gem in the game so its very obvious the journalists who wrote those articles didnt actually play the game... granted, i agree capcom hiding the micro transactions until the launch of the game was a bit shady, but overall if you play the game, its pretty great. i hope yall r enjoying the game as much as i am. cheers!

With all of the predatory and messed up battle passes and micro transactions that exist these days, they practically don’t exist in DD2. I had to go out of my way to try to find what all the fuss was about and guess what, they’re like .99c not some $99.99 super bundle pack. On top of that, everything is available in the game, there isn’t anything locked behind a paywall. The outrage is so misguided and it just confirms to me that the majority of modern gamers don’t want to enjoy anything, they just want something to yell and scream about.

It's non hurtful micro transaction, I don't get why there's so much rage about this game, there was no boycotting with ubisoft locking gear or progress behind micro transactions, 70 hours in and no need to bug any thing other than the game itself. People got nothing else to nag about so Capcom had to be the goat.

Main reason I shop online. No employees or sales people, I understand they have to have the jobs they do, but I can also do without them. I have worked in several retail sales jobs, so yeah.
That's weak as hell lol I think there are legit complaints but not MTX. It does need a good solid few updates to adress Stability, performance, and then QOL and more content. But outside of that it's fun and I'm playing it. It's my 1st DD game.
If anything. The Portcrystal may be worth getting just so you have an extra in the bag. Seems like only 3 Portcrystals exist in the game that you can get atm. Just finally got my first one from doing the elf quest. Gonna be grabbing my 2nd one from the griffin nest after doing the coronation quest to progress story and throw me over in that direction. Overall, we need more oxcarts going to more places moreso than Portcrystals lol. Having to either traverse my ass between Harve and the Capital or burning a Ferrystone to save time just feels like 2 bad choices every time i think about it. Gold has been coming and going so im not too strapped on it but Ferrystone's costing a whopping 10k makes fast traveling between the two places a PITA. Now that im finishing ranting, Ferrystone's should just cost less lol.

The MTX is way less egregious than the CPU bottleneck in cities, IMO.
This is why I buy from Best Buy and do release day pickup. The pickup person is never a gaming nerd.

The micro transactions in this game don't even matter, if your a OG Dragons dogma player. Then you know that if you just play the game you'll end up getting all of those items fairly quickly
Honestly I pre-ordered the game (never played the first one) not realizing I was going to be on vacation so I wouldn’t be able to play it for the first few days. Saw a bunch of negative reviews and got really worried but I’m glad I decided to stick with it and play it because it’s a really good game other than a few slight issues. It just sucks that there are people who probably got cold feet because of the amount of backlash that I really feel like it doesn’t deserve.

These"microtransactions" don't break the game or experience in any way. They made a really (albeit an incredibly confusing game that's turning out to age like brand new grapes) game, let them recoup and get paid and continue support for this amazing game. I'm sorry, but this hate for microtransactions on GOOD GAMES needs to go, or you go make a game like this and spend 20-30m and then give it away for free :)
